I agree with Jeff on both counts. I do think it was good for Sheamus to win and possibly build toward another feud with Triple H, but on the same token Miz and Morrison have a past and I really would've loved to see that come to a head with a title match at the Rumble with a title match.
I don't think Sheamus shouldn't have one, he didn't need too. All of the guys(except the few) who have won King of the Ring have gone to win World Titles and done Main Event matches. Sheamus was already A Main Eventer and held the title on more then one occassion. But lately it seems the King of the Ring tournaments have been made more for a heel to win. So it was very unlikely that Morrisson was going to win.

The Miz defeating Lawler in the eyes of the average wrestling mark just elevated his and Cole's status as heels, and to anyone of us smart marks, it showed that Miz was willing to let Lawler look good. I say props to Miz for letting Lawler have the light on his birthday. And to be honest it wasn't a terrible match, it was nice to see Miz eat a lot of punishment to make Lawler look like a legit contender.

Miz vs Morrison would be a great feud, but to make it a top liner it needs Morrison to get a big push by beating some of the top guys and giving him a good push towards the main event. Also Miz needs to prove himself a worthy champion, I think to do both things will take months, maybe post-Mania they start to build towards it and then at the 2012 'Mania it could be a realistic main event. Both guys definitely have the talent to do that.
What they should do is have Morrison win the Royal Rumble to go on to beat the Miz for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania to make up for not having him win the King of the Ring. What would also work since they are planning on most likely unifying the World titles is have Morrison win the belt in a triple threat unification match against Miz and Edge with Morrison having won a spot in the match due to his Royal Rumble win. This would be perfect to establish him as a main event talent.

it reminded me of Edge facing Flair in a TLC match 4-5 years ago. I wasnt really expecting it, and I think a lot of us expected Miz to retain so that kinna took away from it, but I do think it was a good match and I am looking forward to Cole's explanation tonight =]

I wanted to see a Morrison vs Miz fued...but didnt they do this before? had a beat the clock back in 03 and Undertaker got cheated, then won the rumble, and won the title. Maybe their going down that route...which would be a decent build up

yeah but a sheamus/zeke or a sheamus/drew match would have been heel/heel and the crowd have been dead the whole match. Plus with all those matches, the scheduling must have been shitty, even with a 3 hour raw.

I agree with Jeff on both counts. I do think it was good for Sheamus to win and possibly build toward another feud with Triple H, but on the same token Miz and Morrison have a past and I really would've loved to see that come to a head with a title match at the Rumble with a title match.

I don't think Sheamus shouldn't have one, he didn't need too. All of the guys(except the few) who have won King of the Ring have gone to win World Titles and done Main Event matches. Sheamus was already A Main Eventer and held the title on more then one occassion. But lately it seems the King of the Ring tournaments have been made more for a heel to win. So it was very unlikely that Morrisson was going to win.

in my opinion the reason we got a double count out was because they are builing Jackson as a destroyer therefore a lose to Sheamus would not of looked great for him + i also think Jackson wouldnt have worked well with Sheamus as most of his matches are squash matches and Drew is built as the "choosen one" so they didnt want him beaten either + the fact wwe very rearly does heel V heel so Drew V Sheamus was never gona happen

The only thing I don't like about a Miz/Morrison feud is that it kind of goes back to when nobody took The Miz seriously at all. And to be honest, he has made some dramatic changes like it or not. I wouldn't be surprised if WWE just wanted to leave his past in the past.

The Miz defeating Lawler in the eyes of the average wrestling mark just elevated his and Cole's status as heels, and to anyone of us smart marks, it showed that Miz was willing to let Lawler look good. I say props to Miz for letting Lawler have the light on his birthday. And to be honest it wasn't a terrible match, it was nice to see Miz eat a lot of punishment to make Lawler look like a legit contender.

@ToxsickDeath You're definitely on the right track. Miz vs Morrison would be a great feud, but to make it a top liner it needs Morrison to get a big push by beating some of the top guys and giving him a good push towards the main event. Also Miz needs to prove himself a worthy champion, I think to do both things will take months, maybe post-Mania they start to build towards it and then at the 2012 'Mania it could be a realistic main event. Both guys definitely have the talent to do that.

What they should do is have Morrison win the Royal Rumble to go on to beat the Miz for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania to make up for not having him win the King of the Ring. What would also work since they are planning on most likely unifying the World titles is have Morrison win the belt in a triple threat unification match against Miz and Edge with Morrison having won a spot in the match due to his Royal Rumble win. This would be perfect to establish him as a main event talent.

I, personally, think that someone else should've gotten that push. Sheamus has had THE gold, twice, he "took out" Triple H, and has been a fairly dominant guy, already. why should he get more of a push. Any of the other guys, especially the ones that have become jobbers, like Morrison and McIntyre, could've been good to put it on. Miz, he's supposed to look weak. I thought that was the intent. After all, who would be intimidated by the Miz?
