I think I know why the DS and Wii were absent (well with the exception of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword). That would be a total of FOUR systems that they have to discuss games about. That conference would be like THREE HOURS! And besides, I think they had the list of DS and Wii gams at the end of the conference as well as demos on the show floor.
I'm pretty sure both versions of SSB4 isn't 2 seperate games. They have cross platform support, which is really cool, but it's like saying Left 4 Dead on Xbox & PC are 2 different games. I personally see them as the same product. Can't wait for it. :D
Actually you forgot to mention one thing about the graphics; the video footage for the 3rd party game that they were showing were xbox360 and ps3 footage rofl. Nintendo definitely won E3 hands done but the only thing I liked about Sony conference was the 249,99 for the PSVita. Also Pikman 3 announce for WiiU
i have all 3 smash bros games and will buy the next one but im gonna have to pass on the 3DS version:/ dont feel like buying a 3DS just for smash bros. But i will be buying a WiiU for it.
@jimmyelgringito yea but thats probably the number one reason I want a 3DS. Since most the big games on 3DS are remakes from N64. like starfox and ocarina which i already have both of them on 64 so I dont feel like dopping $40 on them when theres so many other games to buy this year.
@lucas96180 I don't mind paying $40 dollars for a remastered version of a game i loved as a child, but if you don't want to get those there is kid icarus, luigi's mansion, super smash, kingdom hearts, beyond labyrinth, metal gear, paper mario, mario kart, plus much more. There are a ton of games in production, but they don't come out till the holidays so i would advise waiting :/

KH 3D could very well be the best KH game and RE: revelations might not be a main game, but it's going to be a "return to form" for the series. I played the demo and i have to say, it's pretty awesome. Beyond the labyrinth has an artstyle similar to ICO and it looks truly beautiful. And, the $40 bucks is for a remastered game with greatly improved visuals, 3D, greatly improved control, added content, and portability.
@Shokio Yup, Smash Bros. hasn't started yet. It'll start when Kid Icarus: Uprising is finished. But sadly the Wii U can only support 1 tablet. But Wii Remote controllers can be used on Wii U games, so there can still be multiplayer. Also, what about Skyward Sword? And about the Smash bros. , I hope Ghirahim, the villain from Skyward Sword is in it.

WiiU looks amazing, but honestly, unless they can achieve multiplayer support with the screens, they're losing alot of the potential i thought the system had when they were first showing it outside 1 player games.

@hoopblaze Doesn't change a thing. Sony pushed the PSP2 way before E3, that could have been an exciting announcement if they didn't do that. Sony pushed uncharted 3 and resistance 3, ended up being a boring announcement at E3. Playstation Move was completely non-exsistant in E3. The only thing was cool, was the price tag of the vita.
So sony did not "Obviously" win, infact, they probably lost E3 even to the other two companies. Sony's E3 was overall a showcase for old crap. That is all.
Shokio are giving Nintendo too much credit, it was an awful conferences, made even worse by the the worst console reveal in the history of E3.
I'm not saying the Wii U is bad (which in my opinion, it is), what I am saying is the reveal was poor, awful presentation at that conference.
And it was made even worse by recycled Wii / DS games, the ONLY good thing I can recollect from that conference was Brawl, looks like I will have to skip on Wii U and just go with a Wii.

I agree the reveal was poor, since the conference caused confusion as to if the wiiu was even a new console, but honestly from what i've seen it looks new and innovative and there's no reason to judge until you play it. They had a slew of great titles coming to the 3ds, as well as a couple new wii titles.
And Kid Icarus might be an original game, but I am sick to death of having 10 different Mario games which all play the same, Super Mario Galaxy was one of the only recent Mario games to mix things up.

Correction, NO Wii titles, you can't just pull games out of thin air. There were literally NO games at that conference, there wasn't anything new which hadn't been leaked or talked about before, SONY's conference suffered from the same issues, but because Nintendo had no content then their conference came out piss poor, worse than Microsoft in my opinion.

2 or 3 3DS games announced ISN'T a "tonne", there is nothing I want to buy on the 3DS that was announced at E3. And the irony is, they didn't even showcase the console, it was just the controller, and they couldn't even do that right.

It wasn't shown during the conference, but you can check out Kirby Wii, Kirby Mass Attack (DS), Paper Mario (3DS), and many more games on Nintendo's E3 site.
@Shokio The funniest part of the conference was the aftermath. Sony Fanboys were saying the graphics didnt even look as good as ps3 and 360 for like battlefield and the other third party games shown. Just read the tech specs;Uses PPC architecture at range of PS3's processor and uses similar GPU to the Radeon HD 4800.Wii U is as powerful or more powerful than PS3.

Well NIntendo has finally gotton back on their feet. They're the BEST. They've been at this longer than anyone else. They had some hard lessons to learn. It cost them their market share and industry respect for years! Now they're bigger and better for it.
If you look closely at the screen at the end of the conference you will notice all of the tiltles(with their respective logos) being shown, amongst those titles there was: Kirby Wii, Mario Party 9, Mystery Case, and other Wii games, so apparently they did have some sort of announcement for Wii games, but it really was sad that they didn't show it right there with a video. Oh, and Pikmin 3 will be pushed to Wii U to improve graphics and gameplay mechanics.

The press confrence was amazing, it makes me want to get a 3ds and wiiu first day. Also, showing barely any wii was weird especially since their list of new games at the end had KIRBY AND MARIO PARTY!!! Yeah, don't need to talk about those big franchises.
I'm too concerned about that controller working for shooters & fighters. And the name sounds worse, but whatever. The announcement for Smash Bros. coming to the WiiU was nice, but showing some type of HD gameplay would have been epic. In my opinion, all the conferences were underwhelming and I'm just excited for the Vita and the Vita alone. Sony had some of the best announcements, but not many.

Yea I was really excited for the new console but I wanted to know more games, hardware capabilities, and system focus. Like you said, no console focus. The main thing that made me mad was they left out the wii. I thought that there were good wii games still to come. I guess just a few but this could cause price drops! :D

The 3DS part of the show was awesome no doubt and I'm really excited for the future of the machine. As far as the Wii U, I don't know why I just wasn't as excited as I thought I'd be. I hate the way the new controller looks, I can't imagine it being fun to use. And while the third party support is great, I'm not going to wait at least 6 months to play Batman Arkham City when I can get it this October for my PS3. That said, there's no doubt I'll get the Wii U, just probably not day one.

They showed more of the story and basically announced 2 returning characters. The 3DTV bundle and PS Vita were exciting to see. I keep seeing people say Nintendo took "risks". Explain that. @hoopblaze I'm not talking about new features on old games. I'm talking about the general lack of exciting stuff or announcements that sony displayed in the press conference. E3 is not a opportunity to show some games that are already announced and show some boring bundle pack when there's like a gazillion out there already, its a chance to show the world all the new stuff you have been working on.
Sont had nothing of the kind, other then a price tag. Its the truth.

@hoopblaze Doesn't change a thing. Sony pushed the PSP2 way before E3, that could have been an exciting announcement if they didn't do that. Sony pushed uncharted 3 and resistance 3, ended up being a boring announcement at E3. Playstation Move was completely non-exsistant in E3. The only thing was cool, was the price tag of the vita.
So sony did not "Obviously" win, infact, they probably lost E3 even to the other two companies. Sony's E3 was overall a showcase for old crap. That is all.

Shokio are giving Nintendo too much credit, it was an awful conferences, made even worse by the the worst console reveal in the history of E3.
I'm not saying the Wii U is bad (which in my opinion, it is), what I am saying is the reveal was poor, awful presentation at that conference.
And it was made even worse by recycled Wii / DS games, the ONLY good thing I can recollect from that conference was Brawl, looks like I will have to skip on Wii U and just go with a Wii.

@brendude95 holy shit you're dumb. Brawl was never mentioned at that conference once! and recycled games? Kid icarus is a fairly new game, since it hasn't been made since the 90's or whatever. I agree the reveal was poor, since the conference caused confusion as to if the wiiu was even a new console, but honestly from what i've seen it looks new and innovative and there's no reason to judge until you play it. They had a slew of great titles coming to the 3ds, as well as a couple new wii titles.

At least you can agree about the poor reveal. But Nintendo try and pass off "gimmicks" as innovation, I think enough has been revealed for me to judge certain aspects of the console. By slew, you mean a few, which aren't that great...

There were literally NO games at that conference, there wasn't anything new which hadn't been leaked or talked about before, SONY's conference suffered from the same issues, but because Nintendo had no content then their conference came out piss poor, worse than Microsoft in my opinion.

Nintendo primarily focused on 3ds which has a TON of great games coming out, and nintendo had an entire console to showcase at the conference which is a big reason for the lack of wii titles.

@Shokio The funniest part of the conference was the aftermath. Sony Fanboys were saying the graphics didnt even look as good as ps3 and 360 for like battlefield and the other third party games shown. But little did they know that, that was ps3 and 360 games, so they insulted their own system. Wii U can run PC engines

@KalConduitman All I am saying is that the "current day" PC engines you are thinking about are 5 year old multiplat engines. I bet it can't play Crisis with graphics enhancing mods, or Stalker amk 1.7 mod.

But it can't run the games I play on my custom built computer, besides older ones, but for you, older ones are this generation, but PC is constantly upgrading, you just don't get that.

If you look closely at the screen at the end of the conference you will notice all of the tiltles(with their respective logos) being shown, amongst those titles there was: Kirby Wii, Mario Party 9, Mystery Case, and other Wii games, so apparently they did have some sort of announcement for Wii games, but it really was sad that they didn't show it right there with a video. Oh, and Pikmin 3 will be pushed to Wii U to improve graphics and gameplay mechanics.

Mario 3ds also had a zelda dedicated level. Free Four swords on eshop, demos for 3ds games was announced. Kid Icarus had online play. I mean come on sony had no surprises at all it had greeat things shown but no wow factor

I'm too concerned about that controller working for shooters & fighters. And the name sounds worse, but whatever. The announcement for Smash Bros. coming to the WiiU was nice, but showing some type of HD gameplay would have been epic. In my opinion, all the conferences were underwhelming and I'm just excited for the Vita and the Vita alone. Sony had some of the best announcements, but not many.

- They didn't wait for Sony and M$ to announce their next gen consoles, yet Wii was the last current gen to be released! (In other words, they announced Wii U way too early)
- Wii U is not as powerful as they said. I LOVE what I saw, but I don't like it when companies lie. Its graphics are not better than the PS3's.
- Like almost always, Nintendo doesn't like making new IPs, I like sequels, but also new franchises!

The 3DS part of the show was awesome no doubt and I'm really excited for the future of the machine. As far as the Wii U, I don't know why I just wasn't as excited as I thought I'd be. I hate the way the new controller looks, I can't imagine it being fun to use. And while the third party support is great, I'm not going to wait at least 6 months to play Batman Arkham City when I can get it this October for my PS3. That said, there's no doubt I'll get the Wii U, just probably not day one.
