  • AAAAH MAC :D

  • Any good apps? for dual monitors

  • 00:00

  • ok how about 3 monitors can i do that >>>>like have my 27" imac in the middle and 2 22" monitors on either side ?

  • hey man how it going.. how do u got that effects on the mouse it nice.. where you got it form...

  • Excellent and thorough explanation!

I have a 24" monitor so there is a ton of real estate to take advantage of. Is there a way that I can split the cinema monitor into dual screens within the monitor so I can actively work on the cinema and still pass back to the macbook pro? Similar to almost three monitors (two of which being within the 24" cinema?

    Thanks

  • how do u get that red clicky thing

  • @sdtvrulez Screenflow

  • solid man, thanks a lot!

  • asd!

  • asd!

  • asd!

  • asd!

  • how can i hook up my monitors together? (imac)

  • via a cable, duh !

  • and boom there it is

  • CAN ANYBODY tell me if my macbook pro will work fine on my 46 inch sony hdtv. will it run fine or will it go slow. i have the 2009 15 inch macbook pro 9600 gt .

  • your fine i recommend the dvi to hdmi output fpr 1080p display

    as well

  • heey where did you get that wallpaper

  • Is there anyway to turn of the external display besides pulling the cable? Say, i am in a presentation and i want to change something quick and do not want others to see.

  • spinning wheel of death wallpaper ... why?

  • Exactly my question :)

  • @Se7enTips is not "of death"

  • if you just want to use the external display, what do you do???

I couldn't be able to turn off my macbook pro display while i'm using the external display

  • Can I close my macbook pro while I'm using the external display? is it gonna block the air cool for the macbook pro since you close the lid down? appreciated your help

  • no the air cool comes primarily from the cd/dvd slot you will have to get an anti sleep prog nocturnal etc to keep the mac from sleeping when you close the lid

  • Does your iMac have a Mini Display Port? How did you connect the iMac to the LED Cinema Display? I own the late 2008 iMac and I don't think I can do that. Why is that? I really need help/

  • Apple makes adapters, if your iMac doesn't have the Mini Display Port.

  • Does this work with displays from other brands? Dell, Acer etc.

  • I have a windows XP laptop actually with a kickass external-Sceptre monitor, I hooked it up with my XP laptop and it works fine... not sure that helps but it pretty much does..

  • No I mean do other branded monitors work with Macs the same way the LED display does.

  • yes

  • yes, they work in the same way.

  • yup

  • Are you goin to be doin any give aways of your old stuff?

  • Thanks for the video SKB. I was doing this just now on my TV :)

  • do a setup VIDEO NAOOO

  • 1. Buy the LED cinema display

    2. Plug it in

    Phew...

  • can you have two different wall papers? is there a dock for both screens?

  • The answer to the 1st quesion is yes you can use different wallpapers (unlike windows)

The answer to the second question is nope (only the primary display will show the dock)

  • lies. in windows you can use different wallpapers

  • I run a 23" monitor from my 13"mac book. Looks delish!

  • I only use mirroring when I am using my computer as a teleprompter, it's pretty cool!

  • looks like you have dipped the top of your shirt in coffee yea all that good stuff

  • Why do you need a dual screen setup with your imac and using the x screen as primary when its next to it? (unless you need the screen space for running a lot of visible apps)

  • Yes that. But even running one single app you, you can benefit from dual monitors. Example: Photoshop: show the image you are working on, on one screen, and the palettes and tools on the other screen. Even your browser to view maybe 4 or 6 webpages across both screens. So you can compare info without switching windows back and forth. Personally I wish I could have more then two monitors.

  • never really looked at it that way or thought of doing it, prob because i can't afford a high end imac let alone a second screen for it lol.

get my Macbook (or pro need to see the new one for myself) saturday tho :D

  • stay with macbook, there is only a bugs whisker in it for speed.. save cash man I would.. get the whitebook or is it all about looks ?

  • Ye looking at the specs and price i'd probably go for the macbook but the last plastic one felt really cheap to me (compared to what you were paying) and i don't own any white things except paper and i don't think im gonna like it. so may have o be the pro purely on looks

  • Save up and get the Pro. It's better and not that much more.

  • Daul monitors doesn't have to cost a lot of money. I have two 26" widescreen monitors, that I paid about $200 each for. I have a Power Mac G5. But you could hook these monitors up to a Mac mini, for about a $1000 total.

  • that's not too bad actually, i had much bigger numbers in mind (prob because i was thinking of the top imacs)

  • ahh....all that good stuff =)

  • how many times did you say 'and all that good stuff'!?

  • 4 times?

  • You really need better things to do with your time...

  • i know. LOL

  • This was an awesome primer for starter Mac users.

  • you should make a setup vid of it

  • If anyone wants an invite to the BETA Lockerz site, send me a private message and include your email address. I'll send your invite to the email ASAP

  • Nope..

  • IT'S THE PINWHEEL OF DEATH! AHAHHAHAHAH j/k

  • how many times a day do u change ur wallpaper???

  • nice

  • omg, ciaran!! LOL

  • how can you use an imac as a screen with another imac??

  • windows still better

  • hahaha, thats hysterical !

  • would I need an Apple monitor for a 2ndary monitor for my MacBook?

  • No, You can use any Monitor, But you will need a Mini Display port to DVI/VGA depending on the Monitor

  • What about a HDTV, what cable would I need?

  • I also got a mac because of soldierknowsbest...

  • yeah same

  • i would too.. but i dont have 2 grand in my pocket.

  • Comment removed

    Hope i helped!

  • make an every day carry video soldier!

  • is there a way to have the toolbar on both screens but not mirrored

  • screenflow

  • ...do you have google chrome on your mac?

  • HOW DO U GET THE RED CIRCLE TO POP UP when u click?

  • it's a feature with the scree recording program he's using

  • Great video

  • My iMac doesn't have the greatest graphics card, and I want to play GTA 4 with clarity. I have everything on medium, its smooth, but I can only have the 1024x400 resolution or else it gets laggy at higher resolutions. So can I hook up a smaller display and use that instead of the iMac display for gaming? Thnx, gdby

  • Soldier, what capture software do you use?

  • screen flow.

  • he is using Screenflow!

  • screenflow

  • Cool video Soldier (:

  • You forgot to tell people that you can have two different desktop wallpapers for each screen. Just open the preferences and it will open up two settings windows for each monitor. On Windows that is not possible so it is definitely worth mentioning ;-)

  • How did you show all videos Using double Camera

  • you have very white teeth! :D lol

  • you are the man

  • how did you get google chrome is it available to the public

  • its been out for a long time

  • well do you have a link for it cuz when i google it i dnt see it

  • i got it forget it

  • he never answers question....lol i tried never heard back...all good

  • NIce vid !!! Could you make a video using your macbook as a desktop with the cinema display as it's only display ?

  • I'm using mine with a 26" display. Just do it how he explained it. But additionally it is possible to close the Macbook. Either boot up the Macbook closed and the picture will show up on the external monitor or if it is already boot up, close it, wait until it sleeps, open it a little, click the trackpad, close immediately again - it will wake up on your external monitor. Your Macbook's screen will be black now. You can open it to type or use an external keyboard (and mouse).

  • hey i figured out an easier way, just have your wired or wireless keyboard/mouse connected, close the macbook and then click with the mouse or touch the keyboard, very easy!

  • I have a bluetooth Logitech mouse and it does not work with that. Before with the old fucked up Magic Mouse it didn't work either. But yeah, I guess it could work in some cases.

  • i have the mighty mouse and apple wireless keyboard and the late 2008 high end macbook so idk it works for me :)

  • I thought about getting a Mac but i was skeptical. After seeing Soldier's videos, I went and looked. By the time I saved up enough money to get a standard low-end MacBook, the MacBook Pro and iMac had gotten super cool. I got them both. I got the Magic Mouse for both of them, and my freinds chipped in and got me a LED Cinema Display. They did all that because I had saved up for so long just to get a Mac.

  • LUCKY YOU

  • Lol, thanks. But its not luck, its about 4 years of saveing money! 4 FRICKIN YEARS!!! All that, for a Mac.

    But its worth it.

  • cool video, this will help a lot of people

  • "An' all dat good suff" lol

  • Nice mark.

  • where do you get that red circle that appears once you click the mouse???

  • It is in the screen recording software called ScreenFlow

  • haha, boom there it is, boom there it is, jk, nice vid

  • nice thanx

  • Great job SKB. Your tips are always helpful! Hooah

  • Funny, I actually have my MacBook Pro hooked up to a projector using extended desktop as I watched this video. Man, dual displays are awesome

  • Great information!

  • all that good stuff

  • Nice video.

  • a monitor more expensive than my HDTV of the same screen size: would never buy it. --my 21.5´´ iMac suits me perfectly

  • cool vid nice i didnt no that

  • can you do a window 7 review??

  • Full review:

    Get a Mac.

  • I did a video about this two days ago.

  • No one cares, his video is a lot better than yours. Regardless of the fact you made yours earlier

  • Can I have a separate dock for my second screen?

  • nice video!!!

  • Can you connect a Xbox to the I mac? It hast video in hasnt it?

  • u can add controllers to it and it senses ur controller through the USB and u see as you move and press buttons

  • what is the software that makes the mouse have a circle around it when you click somthing?

  • I think camtasia

  • ScreenFlow.

  • that's the software he uses to record his screen. it makes that red ring to show you clicking something.

  • Camtasia, the app he's using to record the screen, has the option of showing those on playback.

  • hes not using camtasia hes using screenflow

  • I meant Camtwist, and yeah you're rigth he's using screenflow, but still that's what makes the red rings.

  • this is like the 10th video on this today. Its so simple why do so many people not know how to do this.

  • i recently upgraded to snow leopard and once i did my spotlight disappeared how do i get it back some plz help me

  • Anybody know how you use it for video editing so that 1 of the displays shows what you made in your timeline?

  • Note for everybody: This works with all of the monitors, not just the cinema display.

  • on a mac holding command and scrolling it will zoom in

and pushing command and M will minimize a window.

    does are some hints.

  • i use control+scroll for zooming. I think it's customizable.

  • good!

  • Nice Tutorial video!

  • great tip. looks simple to change the preferences/settings.

  • 11 oops
