I am string piecing right now. had lear5ned tyo use phone book paper howevr when the illistrator said to ask friends to come by and tear off with tweezers, i thought that wouldn't work for me. I had sew-in interfacing on hand so I am using that however afraid it could wrinkle when washed. What do you think? Enjoyed your videos.
I found this tid bit on line:"You purchase FBTY by the panel, not by the yard. You get a little more than a yard of foundation in each panel, which contains foundation patterns for twelve blocks of the ..." Thanks, hcg
I will check the cost of the foundation. Do you cut all your scraps a certain width? Looks like they all are cut in stips that are in your box. Could they be 3-4" wide?
@leatherworkswithyou I don't cut anything for foundation piecing. you just save all your scraps, not matter what size. that's the fun and the timesaver. have fun.
@leatherworkswithyou actually, that is "foundation by the yard" that you buy already stamped for you. however, if you are so inclined, you ca draw your own on fabric. but they must all be accurate and the same. have fun.
I enjoyed your video. You are very organized and unanxious about your colors and pieces! You just pull something out of you scrap box! I love it!! Thanks for sharing. I understand foundation piecing much better without the stress....
I think if it is poly, not cotton, you should be ok

where do I draw the pattern from? Where does the pattern come from to draw on the front of a plain fabric. What is the size? 81/2"
