my advice with knot work is to kind of crochet (cro-shay) a square knot so that it will never ever come out on you even trying to untie them is hard for me

Suggestions: A leather punch, or even a paper hole punch makes a nicer hole than an awl. A square knot will untie itself when enough pressure is put on either of the loose ends. A bowline, or a clove hitch, or even a couple of half hitchs is better than a square knot.

a sling is effective like those asian movies where they launch thousands of arrows and block out the sun. it may not be very accurate unless ur very good, but if u fire a half lb rock every 3 seconds and u have 100 men thats a shit load of things falling on your head from like 100+ feet in the air. your own shield will batter your arm with that force

israeli battle tactics along time ago used to have slingers that could dispatch men from far away accuratley they may not be precise if you use it every now and then but if you practice alot you can get good with one

And you can easily transport an sling in your pocket. You can EVEN build an sling with part of your clothes... you cannot do that for a rifle or even a bow (compund or not...), or even a catapult...
