I know this is a old video...but I am looking to pick up a dot and to me they sound exactly the same, I already have a Epiphone Les Paul, But as I enter the jazz realm I am thinking the dot is the way to go,but I think the factory uses the same pickups on the dot and LP just a guess,but you should only hear the difference on clean right,which is what I been doing lately. Thanks

Yes it is very hard ? They both are good for all types 335 is light then the Les paul both cost the same they both play great if i had to choose i couldn't i would have to buy them both again But if all i can aford is 1 it would have to be the Les paul Standard I bought both of these at the same time
is that epiphone les pual standard a plus top or a plain top? im asking bedcause im getting one soon howver im not sure on whether to get the plus top or the standard top theres a 100 dollare difference so yea if you dont know then just tell me if it was either 450 or 550 if you can remember lol
the only difference is in the "look" of the maple layer glued on... that why its call plain "top" the guitar is the same... pick up are the same its only a matter of finish

ya youtube has been having some problem latley. Was wondering if the dot its really smooth playing, how stiff the strings are and the action,all that good stuff. by the way nice playing
Its smooth and realy easy to play! I ordered it from sweetwater and they actully inspect it and set it up before they send it to you. And they done a good job action and intonation.
Man!! Those Epis are beautiful! I have the Vintage Sunburst Plain Top Les Paul just like that one and I love it! I'm wanting to get a cherry red DOT someday. Nice job! I hope you're able to enjoy those guitars for many years to come!

There both killer guitars and both will play what you want Les paul if i had to choose but i bought them a week apart cause i had to have both
