and christianity in scandinavia have only been here for about 1000 years while the vikings were here ever since there was humans in the north so that'd make it a bit more than 200 years hehe... Read the history before u post ur ignorant comments;-)

If you've read the history yourself, then you know that what we call "Vikings" didn't show up until after the Vendel culture, so around 700 AD--the Vikings converted by choice to Christianity within a couple of centuries after their famous raids into England, Russia and the rest of Europe.

@johannine No idea what history books you are reading, but the conversion of nearly all the Northern cultures to christianity, was a bloody affair. Chrisitianity was nothing more than an excuse used by kings to fill their coffers and gain support from the corrupt "business-religion" of the church. Reducing the freedoms and powers of free men and women, and forcing people under the rule of one king and one religion, which was not allowed to be questioned. It ruined Europe and Scandinavia.

Meanwhile, there are roughly two billion Christians worldwide, meaning far more than there'll ever be of Odin-worshipers even if all of Scandinavia reverted back to their paganism. You do the math. There is no large movement back to believing in 'the old gods'; death metal does not count, sorry. Losing team.

@johannine Statistics doesnt lie, since the year 1997 the number of Asatru believers has raised about 15% each year and when it became approved as a religious community in 2003 that percentage has raised and are still raising each year all over scandinavia and also the rest of europe and even america. And no scandinavia didnt convert to christianity till around year 900-1000 and "death metal does not count"? hehe now u just sound desperat with that lousy remark=P
