  • Little bu amazing useful tip Tim, you are the man.

  • here in idaho we go by the UPC CODE kitchen drains always 2 inch pipe ont 1 1/2

  • Unfortunately not all builders create great access to the drains like you were showing. Then you have a big challenge particularly with underground drains.

  • Sad but true.

  • thats not s great access when u take off the plug its gonnna be one hell of a mess

  • Too bad so sad. The point is that you have access further down the drain system. There are any number of ways to capture the waste water that starts to leak as you loosen the plug.

  • Yes I agree and normally do it the way you said Tim.

Although sometimes you have to use a 90 degree bend because of limited space and its cheaper ;)

    lol.

  • why buy a wye and a 1/8 bend and have to cut a make up piece? just get a combination. same thing but it's all one piece.

  • in canada u are not aloud to use 90s in drainage just venting

  • Really? Please tape a video showing all of us a typical Canadian job all roughed in. We would love to see this. It would be your first video, as I see at your channel you have none. I can't speak for others, but I am beginning to wonder if you have any background in plumbing. Something tells me not much. At the very least fill out the profile on your channel and tell us who you are and what you do for a living.

  • Theres that philip de franco music again like the autocar videos should be called the youtube sone, that guy has a funny voice.

  • Although the long radius bend is technically better it the shorter radius shown is not a cable hindrance.

  • I would've like to have seen an actual clogged drain. Oh well...

  • Great idea Tim! You know your stuff!

  • I like the tinman

  • You gonna be the plumber pulling that plug when the drain is full of food, and draino in a finished basement? Rod thru the trap under the sink.

  • You can direct that waste water above the cleanout into a flexible hose that empties at a floor drain or a large bucket. These cleanouts are good plumbing practice and can be seen in many a parking garage where plumbing drain lines are exposed.
