Good job John Culberson! Get that crazy lady out of Texas. How would she feel if someone told her she wasn't allowed to say what she wanted at her childs funeral. Get at least 200 people together and say a prayer for all of the fallen soldiers.
Congressman I applaud u. I have served the citizens in van zandt county for over twenty five.years as their sheriff and constable. I am more than willing to provide the cemetery winch an escort out of Texas. Thank you again Mr congressman
YES! This is so outrageous. This woman needs to be sent back to Chicago as she does not represent the VA, the veterans nor the nation. Hooray for a congressman willing to do the hard jobs.
Not only Culberson is lying about zeroing her salary but also to take her out of Texas?? Please don't act like a moron that you are!! I'd like to bet whatever he wants that he can't do it. Also, I know him pretty well and he wasn't at the funeral in question. In addition the policy that started all this issues was published in 2007. To end this; why don't you tell everyone that this honorable men (VFW) charge the poor families at least $180 for their crapy ceremony huh?
I applaud Congressman Culberson for holding the director of the cemetery personally responsible and accountable for her actions. Personal responsibility and accountability for one's own actions (i.e. words or actions) is what keeps a society polite, It also completely eliminates "It's the system that is doing it". People are the system and are accountable for their actions and decisions.
It's she and so many liberals that are taking away our right to worship as we choose. Is God so terrible a word? Is Allah or Buddha a better word?. Why are the liberals of this country taking from us our rights and giving them to those who do not believe in the fundamentals of the United States of America. We've lost our Day of Prayer to the Muslim days of worship.. We need a Washington full of Congressman John Culbersons and John Flemings and those who are willing to fight for what is right.
I sometimes find myself doubting the existence of God, considering all the pain and torment that exists in this world. I'm just not sure anymore, however, I have the utmost respect for those who believe and have the ability to see past the world's problems. That sad, I'm an avid and total constitutionalist who believes that everyone has a right to worship as he/she sees fit (as long as it doesn't involve blowing people up in the process). Con. Culberson is a great patriot. Good on him.
Let's see her prohibit the singing of the National Anthem. If those who are involved would learn and sing the fourth stanza, it'll put a stop to this bull pucky.
This is politics, nothing more. The "VFW Ceremony" is not standard. Military honors are taps, volley, presentation of the flag. No words are part of these. The issue is that these folks are foisting their religious language on people who don't necessarily want it. If folks want a religious funeral, they tend to invite a pastor, or a military chaplain. It isn't the role of these honor guards--who must abide by VA norms--to introduce religion when the family members don't ask for it.
Congressman John Culberson, U.S. Representative of Texas District 7, took it upon himself to go undercover at a recent military hero’s funeral and found the truth. He personally witnessed censorship of freedom of speech and freedom of religion at the funerals of our veterans.Thank God for active and Patriotic Congressmen/women like Culberson.
I'm thinking the next stop is to run out the gutless liars at the VA that were telling the congressman that "nothing is happening" and tried to cover for this incompetent witch.
Families who do not believe in god should be allowed to bury their veterans without mention of god. Those who do believe in a god should be allowed to bury their veterans with what they think are suitable prayers. It is not for the government to decide how grieving families will part with their loved ones.
Heavenly Father thank you for answering my prayers to continualy reveal the darkness bringing it into the bright light of day and giving the Christians the courage, understanding and wisdom to right the wrongs in Jesus precious and mighty name ! All Glory belongs to God Almighty.
It's slime sucking bitches like this this make the world and life generally more miserable for all of us for no reason at all other than she is a mentally delusional atheist God hating control freak from hell. Thank you Congressman Culberson!!!!!
You have to ask yourself why and how an obvious athiest would find herself working in funeral services. did she not know she would be exposed to religion? or is the point for her to suppress the expression of religion? may be no conspiracy but its very odd.
I'm very happy to see this done!! I just feel bad for the place where she does end up.

Doesn't Sheila Jackson Lee also represent Houston? How you you guys elect such polar opposites?
munseym 7 months ago
@munseym SJL represents a different district. The majority in her district pretty much reflect her lack of mentality.

If she is not fired from government service it shows how gutless our 'leaders' have become. Congratulations to Rep. Culberson!! GOOD move, Sir.
