Re Centrelink for this is where the government gives jobs to Aboriginals as they require no intellignce to work in there

The only time anyone ever tried it on with me was when they were in a group.

I used to smile to myself listening to the hate filled rants by Aboriginals but sadly all this hate has several terrible effects.

i agree land 'ownership' is an unhelpful term....But whether owners or custodians....Australia's land wasn't 'shared' by any agreement, treaty or approval with the people who here for many generations....it was declared 'terra nulius' despite the existing population....that sucks in 1788 and it sucks now.

My understanding was that the current aboriginal peope were not the first inhabitants of Australia. Either way it doesn't really matter. History shows that the dominant peoples tend to take over, which is what happened in our case. We now all have to live together. Having an invasion day does nothing to improve the standing of aboriginal people in the community. If they were serious, they'd be protesting in England. Most of us were born here, just like them.

None of which changes the fact that from 1788 onwards, an imperial invasion took place, which claimed the land mass we now call Australia as 'empty' when there were an estimated 350-700,000 people living here, who were descendants of humans we know know had been here for over 40,000 years. So, if anything is 'celebrated' as I question in the video - surely it should be focused more around commemorating the traditional culture which is still here?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, we can look back and say that the Aboriginal people could have been treated better, but that will not change the past. The only ones stopping the Aboriginal race from moving forward are the Aboriginals and their unwillingness to move on. Live in an Aboriginal community for a couple of years and you will see the true reasons their race has been unable to move forward.
