  • it is too small, even for a squirrel...

  • why do you keep not pedigri cats in this jail ! :(

  • I used avairy wire which has 1/2 inch holes... nothing dangerous can gets paws/claws into holes that small. Yes it is buried a bit into the ground but mostly it is buried away from the enclosure. I also put wire under the sod before I laid it. Good luck!

  • Hi

Is that chicken wire that you used?

Also is the wire buried into the ground?

I am thinking of enclosing the underside of my deck.

Want to know the right materials to use!

  • Nice set-up! We used a 10' X 10' dog kennel (with roof) up next to the house so our kitties can go in and out at will. I want to fix it up with fun options for them, but so far they just love to be out in the fresh air and sunshine and I'm keeping them safe.

  • BRILLIANT! How kind of you to let the kitties outside & how smart to keep them safe! I used to have a neighbour who made a similar run for his dogs & cats. He worked long hours & didn't want to worry about accidents. They were able to let themselves in & out whenever they pleased. We were in a semi-rural area, so he had a double fence 2 feet apart to protect them from wild animals reaching in.

  • What isn't clear from the video is that the cats have access from the house out to both the catio and a screened deck that is about 8'x10'. So, for indoor kitties they have a pretty nice deal. And instead of a lock I have a fancy, locking carabiner on the outside door. That should keep them safe.

  • One can never be too careful. Hence, the lock. My cat enclosure is locked from the inside. My cats access it through a doggy door cut into my back door. As time goes on, I'll bet that you start enlarging your cat enclosure. I was looking outside today myself and thinking to myself, "Hmm, I could make my enclosure twice as large." (However, I would lose the area where I now have a patio set, but hey, that could sit inside the new area.)

  • Make sure to put a lock on your enclosure to keep mischievious children from letting your kitties loose. I love your cat enclosure!

  • @WashfromCali Good idea. We don't have any small children here but if we did you can believe there would be a lock. We do have locks on the chicken coop...raccoons are good with their hands! Thanks for the comment!

  • No, I made it myself. It is small, only 2ft by 8ft but the cats appreciate it I am sure. Thanks for the comment.

  • Very nice! did they come out and install it for you?
