Grazie Maestro Crivelli!
. I can't read notes - couldn't he when he is still there, . . . make (replay) a very slow SPREAD OUT VERSION for poor students like me :
I mean Each new chord as an arpeggio/portamento even (to show) and then continue Everything / new chords very slowly so I can play together with Him and remember - - - that's how i learn stuff - - Thank You
The older musicians are the ones that play the best. Look at how well MIles played when he was older. Being older is something for the younger musicians to look forward to so we can play much better. YOur grandpa is INCREDIBLE!
He seems to intuned with this piece, and that I like. I gather in his "hayday" he was quite the muscian, though as it appears not much has changed. Like wine, he gets better with age. Tripple thumbs up!
The best version of the song I've seen in Youtube -other than Thelonious's own, of course. Your grandpa is really tallented and shows excelent taste in his performance. It shows class and style too.
Who is this guy? Wow you play great! Its so true that the older musicians in jazz are the BEST! Ive been playing my trumpet for 20 years and cant wait till I sound like this. thank you for this very beautiful moving rendidtion Maestro! :)
I'm from Milan (Italy)...but my grandpa (see description) is from Genova! Gasia is the nickname he had when he was young and was the italian Pole vault champion :-D (something he's very proud of!)
oh...I see now... So what is the meaning in Italy of your grandpa´s nickname "Gasia"? because as I said before my name is VICTOR GASIA. Say Hi to your grandpa, very talented!!! congrats.
I asked my grandpa..."Gasia" means Acacia (the tree!) they called him like that when he did pole vault....since he was so "flexible" or something of the sort....:-D

Wish I had a grandpa like that, mine collected stamps.
His interpretation is brilliant, He probably knew Monk Himself. :-)

Wow you are an incredible pianist. This is an incredible rendition of the classic. You rate right up there with Toots, Dizzy, Duke and Miles.
