I really hope that you're continuing to upload music! This is beautiful, would you mind if I used this in a level I'm making for Alien Swarm? I would give you full credit of course
I've just found your videos today. I started learning piano a month ago, haven't gotten far but this gives me a lot of motivation. I appreciate the music you're sharing with us. Cheers!
Perfect! Perfect piece Lionel.. I think this is my favorite. It gives me that sort of feeling of a journey of self reflection, hope and hard earned prosperity.
It's been a while since I could listen to your music, and I come back to this wonderful masterpiece, it's just like a fresh breath of life.
You can take what philateliceum said and become a better music writer, but please still sit down and pound the keyboard making it up as you go, because at least with me, even though it's rough around the edges, it is where you can really feel the emotion in the song, really pick up on your feelings. Theres a randomness to the song, as the mood changes many times in a single song it's like having a discussion after an hardship or great joy. That's why I fell in love with this channel. Because it
(continuing my post) from her childhood she sees her parents' death replay before her, but then they walk unscathed out of the fire telling her everything is all right. They have the unfinished picnic and it's perfect.
This is a dreamworld piece. It's beautiful. It starts with a little girl below the age of seven. Her life is perfect. That particular day her parents plan a picnic, but then her mother and guardian angel dies. In his grief her father disappears found dead a week later. The girl is of course, sent to a foster home. She grows up, but she is never truly happy again. She grows up and she has an amazing future. She's very successful. One night she goes to sleep and pulls out a locket from her child
@KissMeLOLxxx@KissMeLOLxxx there is a software called 'Free youtube to mp3 converter' which allows you to get the audio from youtube videos...obviously ;p
I wish he'd put his music on itunes, I would definitly pay for it.
@KissMeLOLxxx you're welcome! I would be helpless without this, there is so many great artists on youtube who aren't signed, but I wouldn't wanna miss listening to their music :)
Watching america's got talent, i see very few pianists, and none of them even compare to you. If you entered you would be one of the best musicians on the show. Your music blows me away.
Prodigy, no time no see ( or write comments, whichever ) ! Every time you upload a video, my day is perfect. PERFECT I SAY. Thank you so much for sharing you talent with us after all this time. God Bless You !
I would love to see a written out song by you with less improvisation. I really like your style but sometimes I don't understand the improvs, it doesn't sound entirely logical in the greater context of the song. Its the balance between intellect and emotion. You got the emotion part down 100% but I would like more intellectual stimulation in your songs cause I believe it will take your songs to a whole new level.
@musicalbasics Cool that you find my advice good, I always feel a little bit hesitant about writing such comments because its so easy to get the tone wrong of a comment and come over as a know-it-all douche. You have amazing talent for the piano and to me it sounds as if you can play the music you hear in your head and that you are not really limited by technique and motor skills. That is an amazing talent to be exploited for writing music and you should.
@musicalbasics I don't know if you have any schooling in writing music but if I could give you a tip you should really read "Fundamentals of Musical Composition" by Arnold Schoenberg. Its a really good book on how to write proper music full of examples, nearly half the book are examples and analysis from Beethoven to Wagner, from Bach to Chopin. It really opened my eyes to the constructs and logic behind melodies and music in general and imo a must read for any serious aspiring composer
I liked the left-hand-strong-chords at around 3:00. That's fairly unusual for you (in my opinion) since you generally do scales. I also really liked the throwback melody at 2:45. I didn't really see the title as fitting, though. It is more positive sentimental, like the reflections of an arduous quest - with 4:00 being the death of a comrade, vengeance, then the return home. All in all, another great song, Lionel. You've yet to disappoint.
nice music
