Newsboys are a really great band, encouraging lyrics (sometimes witty) and such diversity in their musical style... Listening to their music from 1988 to 2009, it's like listening to 10 different bands! Of course the Newsboys were a revolving cast of characters. Check out wikipidia of all the different members through the years. I'm most familiar with them in 1991.

These are the guys who Slattery a.k.a. Something Shiny and I met at the Crown & Anchor bar in Monterey, CA. We got VIP backstage passes to Spirit West and saw them put on an incredible show. Also like their new song Wherever We Go and the live version of their classic, Shine. Very nice fellows to a couple of old soldiers like us.

There is no replacement for Peter. It will be interesting to hear what happens with Tait, but no it will never be the same. Peter has such a unique sound and he is just so fascinating! I will really miss him also.

But after that it always souns like "...ticker tape parade, Hah!" (to me at least - try 3:10 in the video)

Can I just point out, that Newsboys has been around a long time, and Peter is the only original member. The newsboys has gone through many many changes in line up over the years. Phil was a great addition to the band, but he joined long after the band was established. I believe he join with their 5 or 6th album.
