This video is a prime example of why Russian combat doctrine fails in combat regularly. They don't know their own enemy. We wouldn't send B-52s over an area where all 15 of Russia's Su-35s might be. We'd send multiroles. Even then they wouldn't be flying such a tight formation with their escorts right up their asses. This ain't world war two. Everybody would be spread out and the bombers would only go in at night after hours of successful fighter sweeps over the NFZ. This video is garbage.

They didn't get thrust vectoring from the Americans even though they didn't start using it until 12 years after. They didn't copy AESA radar. And the T-50 doesn't get its stealth design from Platform Alignment which up until now was exclusively used by the F-22, YF-23 and F-35. Russia is totally original.

@konischev No, the ONLY part the F-35 uses of the Yak is the vectored engine. They bought it because they were being rushed by Congress to produce the aircraft and did not have enough time to finish developing the system they were 80% of the way through. And I'm not going by looks. Platform Allignment is not a "look". It is a method of stealth nobody else has used but us until now. The EXACT aspect of the F-14 wings at max effective angle was not a coincidence either, or the blended strake.

Platform Alignment is a heavily involved method of engineering first featured on the F-22 and YF-23. Do you even know what it is because you keep saying "looks"? Instead of using the theories they supposedly created in the 1960s (which is funny considering it took them this long to come up with a plane), they used Lockheed's alignment theories and the F-117 wreckage they bought from the Serbs. Like I said, they are so original. One day they might actually think of something first.

Stealth is a concept, variable geometry is a concept. Vertical take off and high alpha is a concept. 114ASP/56VSP is simply copying. I understand the difference. And I know that Russia uses many "concepts" pioneered by the US and develops their own many years later and then claims it is the first, just like they did with MATV.

@konischev In my personal opinion, the greatest Russian contribution to aerospace is beauty. Its very hard to find anything better looking than the Flanker. And when you see one up close the shear size of the plane is jaw dropping. Yet the beauty is magnified with the size. Their aircraft do perform well and would perform better if they weren't restricted by budget issues. 70% of their MiG-29s are riddled with corrosion and maybe only 30% of them can be returned to service within 2 years.

@konischev Well, the MiG-29 is younger than the F-15, who's only real threat will be the Su-35, should it ever be massed produced. Actually, there are 16 aircraft that I know of that can do the Cobra without departing. The first was the J-35, which has been flying since 1955. The test pilot of the second prototype was the first to do the maneuver. This is why I'm don't understand why Pugachev took credit 30 years later. Anyway, those engines on the Tu-22 are something else.

And just so you know, the very first concept of the MiG-29 was an exact copy of the F-15. Then they started to make changes starting with the fuel tanks and wing aspect. They knew enough about the F-15 to start that little venture so I'm sure they had some info on the F-16 as well.

How full of crap is this? First off, this ain't Nam, so nix the B-52s. This is modern combat, and I say modern because I see Su-35s being flown by Russians. Second, NATO squadrons would never fly such a obvious daytime formation with large bombers being escorted by only 2 fighters. Several fighter wings would fly a CAP specifically to clean out enemy fighters before the bombers even entered the NFZ, which would most likely be carried out at night by Rhynos and stealths. What a silly video.

@konischev Did you know that 20 years ago, the President of Egypt, (who was a MiG-19 pilot in the 6 Day War) stated that four of their Russian instructors (yeah, Russia doesn't just sale aircraft, they provide ACM instruction as well) were shot down by IAF Mirages in a single mission? And as of now there are only 15 Su-35s in the world. 12 of them are simply upgraded Su-27s. So far Russia has proven to be a bunch of hype but no result. They always win on paper, but they fail in reality.

Fail because their aircraft have a much higher accident rate (MiG-29 currently holds world record for military aircraft crashes even though it was produced in less number than the F-16). So yes, fail. The Su-30 through 35 have a STR of 20 DPS loaded. F-22 is 32 DPS loaded, so no, Su is not more maneuverable. Russia's problem is they're finding less and less customers. Fail MiG-29K and MiG-35. Orders canceled.

Who cares about US military strength in todays world - you still, after Vietmam, Iraq and Afganistan don't understand that you can't win a war if the "enemy" chooses not to fight you on your terms. US have captured a lot of Russia old SAM like SA-2, SA-3, SA-4, SA-5, SA-6, SA-7, SA-8, SA-9, SA-13, SA-14, SA-15, SA-16, & SA-17. Many of these were captured by US allies in the middle east and hand it over to the US for studying it. In reality Russian radar would easily get jammed by US jammed pod.
This video is just Sukhoi propaganda. There is no way the Su-35 would able to dodge it by using SAP-14 & SAP-518 jamming pod. The SAP-14 jammed D-F radar and SAP-518 jammed G-J radar. The PAC-3 ALHTK missiles is guided by Ku-band radar. The MIM-104 PAC-3's radar the AN/MPQ-65/53 is a C-band radar. The MPQ-53 radar set has no moving parts and that makes it very hard to jam. I guess Russia doesn't know a lot about US SAM like Avenger, HUMRAAM, PAC-3, THAAD, and MEADS.
Su-35 will be L-band radar. The PAK FA have 360 degree coverage protection. On the wings PAK FA will have L-band, X-band, and Ku-band or Ka-band radar. On the airtanks side it will have S-band radar and plasma stealth. An also behind PAK FA it will have X-band radar to jammed any missiles tried to lock on behind PAK FA.
@SilentEagles Pak fa will have 5 radars 2 l-band one x-band aesa and one x-band rear. The su-35 can have L-band but no info on it being equipped with it.

We become a superpower from the Industrial Revolution before the turn of the century, dominated the world as #1 before WW1, and continue to dominate today, we are the strongest country in the world militarily. Secondly: I do not think Eurofighters would be the sitting ducks as depicted, especially so if they had support from AWACS. compared to the f16 block 52 + and f35, the radar has su35bm maximum range for disclosure fighter 350 km as opposed to 210 km of f16 and f35. missiles in the bm has a range of 175 km while the f16 and f35, the AIM-120c is 48 km and has acted radar scan l-band, which can lock a stealth plane because the f35 is designed to hide from band x, not less from this (l band) Forget it. this airplane is stealth killer

@konischev Right, Russia never claimed the MiG-29 or Su-27 were superior combat platforms to the F-15 and F-16, just like they are not claiming that the T-50 is more maneuverable and faster than the F-22 (like they would know the F-22s performance specs). I'm sure Russian engineers and test pilots have nothing better to do than include youtube fanboys from the Untied States in their social network. Google this, N132SU. @konischev In my personal opinion, the greatest Russian contribution to aerospace is beauty. Its very hard to find anything better looking than the Flanker. And when you see one up close the shear size of the plane is jaw dropping. Yet the beauty is magnified with the size. Their aircraft do perform well and would perform better if they weren't restricted by budget issues. 70% of their MiG-29s are riddled with corrosion and maybe only 30% of them can be returned to service within 2 years.

@konischev Well, the MiG-29 is younger than the F-15, who's only real threat will be the Su-35, should it ever be massed produced. Actually, there are 16 aircraft that I know of that can do the Cobra without departing. The first was the J-35, which has been flying since 1955. The test pilot of the second prototype was the first to do the maneuver. This is why I'm don't understand why Pugachev took credit 30 years later. Anyway, those engines on the Tu-22 are something else.

And just so you know, the very first concept of the MiG-29 was an exact copy of the F-15. Then they started to make changes starting with the fuel tanks and wing aspect. They knew enough about the F-15 to start that little venture so I'm sure they had some info on the F-16 as well.

How full of crap is this? First off, this ain't Nam, so nix the B-52s. This is modern combat, and I say modern because I see Su-35s being flown by Russians. Second, NATO squadrons would never fly such a obvious daytime formation with large bombers being escorted by only 2 fighters. Several fighter wings would fly a CAP specifically to clean out enemy fighters before the bombers even entered the NFZ, which would most likely be carried out at night by Rhynos and stealths. What a silly video.

@konischev Did you know that 20 years ago, the President of Egypt, (who was a MiG-19 pilot in the 6 Day War) stated that four of their Russian instructors (yeah, Russia doesn't just sale aircraft, they provide ACM instruction as well) were shot down by IAF Mirages in a single mission? And as of now there are only 15 Su-35s in the world. 12 of them are simply upgraded Su-27s. So far Russia has proven to be a bunch of hype but no result. They always win on paper, but they fail in reality.

@konischev Yes, fail because they have a lower combat success rate. Fail because their aircraft have a much higher accident rate (MiG-29 currently holds world record for military aircraft crashes even though it was produced in less number than the F-16). So yes, fail. The Su-30 through 35 have a STR of 20 DPS loaded. F-22 is 32 DPS loaded, so no, Su is not more maneuverable. Russia's problem is they're finding less and less customers. Fail MiG-29K and MiG-35. Orders canceled.

US have captured a lot of Russia old SAM like SA-2, SA-3, SA-4, SA-5, SA-6, SA-7, SA-8, SA-9, SA-13, SA-14, SA-15, SA-16, & SA-17. Many of these were captured by US allies in the middle east and hand it over to the US for studying it. In reality Russian radar would easily get jammed by US jammed pod.

This video is just Sukhoi propaganda. There is no way the Su-35 would able to dodge it by using SAP-14 & SAP-518 jamming pod. The SAP-14 jammed D-F radar and SAP-518 jammed G-J radar. The PAC-3 ALHTK missiles is guided by Ku-band radar. The MIM-104 PAC-3's radar the AN/MPQ-65/53 is a C-band radar. The MPQ-53 radar set has no moving parts and that makes it very hard to jam. I guess Russia doesn't know a lot about US SAM like Avenger, HUMRAAM, PAC-3, THAAD, and MEADS.

Su-35 will be L-band radar. The PAK FA have 360 degree coverage protection. On the wings PAK FA will have L-band, X-band, and Ku-band or Ka-band radar. On the airtanks side it will have S-band radar and plasma stealth. An also behind PAK FA it will have X-band radar to jammed any missiles tried to lock on behind PAK FA.

Yeah, I really like the SU-35 and all, but this video is so lame: 1st of all: Eurofighters mean Britain or Germany are the intended foes... WTF? Guarding B-52 ??? Secondly: I do not think Eurofighters would be the sitting ducks as depicted, especially so if they had support from AWACS. Furthermore, AWACS planes wouldn't really expose themselves that close to the expected NME, I suppose.

Although F-22 Raptor maybe lack of AIRST (Advance Inferred Search & Track), no 3D TVC, no new cockpit like F-35 PCD cockpit, plasma stealth, advance electro optical, and no better instrument. Su-35 is the best in class.
Better than "promuved" F-22.
It is also better then T-50 because of it's price.
Really, Russia have a perfect weapon system.
Together with Sa-21 it can protect from any agression.

Too bad there won't be a lot nation buying your Su-35. Why? Most country today want to fly two seated multirole fighter aircraft like Su-30MK, F-15E, F-16F, Mig-35D, & F-18F.

Lol, everything is so wrong. Maneuverability wise F22 =/= Su-37's, Su-35, Su PAK-FA.
Everyone even idiots know SU planes are the most agile planes in the world, none can compare to them.
Also in the fights will be no F-22s because they are crap, this is what US goverment thinks, if they were not US gov. wouldn't abandon this whole project.

compared to the f16 block 52 + and f35, the radar has su35bm maximum range for disclosure fighter 350 km as opposed to 210 km of f16 and f35. missiles in the bm has a range of 175 km while the f16 and f35, the AIM-120c is 48 km and has acted radar scan l-band, which can lock a stealth plane because the f35 is designed to hide from band x, not less from this (l band) Forget it. this airplane is stealth killer

Children children, OK in the near future somewhere in the middle east or south america the SU-27 and its variants will come face to face with the US fighters. And lets see if the SU are better than the F-22. Until then the F-15 is the reigning champion in the sky.

Well, since seeing as a bunch of people have preferences towards aircraft of their own country, I'm going to say absolutely unbiasedly- F-22 does beat Su-35, however Su-35 is still a great plane. MiG-29s, Su-35, F-15C and F-22 are the best aircraft today. I see why people would argue, but come on- just because your country makes it doesn't mean it's better. Now before anyone starts screaming "AAAA American!", I'm actually Russian. Так-что так... нефик спорить...

The Su-35BM Super Flanker E cost only about $65 million dollar. What I heard from news and websites in computers is that Libyan Air Force order 12 Su-35, 4 Su-30MK2, 6 Yak-130, and planned # of S-300PMU2 aka NATO codename SA-20 Gargoyle. Venezuela is already planned to buy Su-35 from Russia. My prediction of Su-35 operator is Malaysia, Brazil, Alg
