good video. But I believe things like IRLP are "cheating". That's not talking through radio. It's talking through the internet with radios at each end. WIFI cards are radios. So you're accomplishing the same thing by talking on Skype or Yahoo using laptops with WIFI cards. If you want real worldwide radio communications, HF is the ONLY way to go. I got my General ticket a week ago and now, I don't think I'll bother with VHF/UHF ever again. It's just not nearly as fun. give it a try
This guy is one of those self absorbed morons that wants to show the world what he knows...which obviously isn't much..."look at me..I'm a ham and you're not..I make youtube videos that ain't worth snot..I got my license out a cracker jack box..and listening to me you're guaranteed to get shocked!" He really should be a rapper..it's safer for him!
@EarDeff The Neil Armstrong comment was quite good..there's no following that..even if you would have said "Back in the 80's, Michael Jackson bounced his signal off my nut sack", it still wouldn't have been nearly as funny as Armstrong's nut sack.
i went for a walk in the park and buzzers went off everywhere birds surround about me very neat~ lol my neighbor is a ham coder and morse coder expert and i mean a expert ~ when i moved into the neighborhood the freaking 2 day he called my land lord and told her that he heard a woman screaming and gun shots to get my phone numbers and all shit broke loose so that means he and others heard my intiment moments with my husband and everything ~ oh he's very very very freaky~
Interesting stuff...I've always had a fascination with radio comm..I used to have a base, handheld, and car CB radios. The range of HAM amazes me. What is it that makes such long-range communication possible on these? (Compared to the range on your average CB radio)

fun thangs to do with a ham radio: use it for a doorstop, use it to anchor ur boat, use it to keep the toilet lid open, ham radios are junk, cbs are way beter high quality, it takes a pro to use a cb, go watch my videyos
Its actually quite easy. There are 3 classes of HAM: 1.) Technician, 2.) General and 3.) Extra. Each class gives more privileges. If you are starting out, you will need to take the Technician class exam first.
If you are good at studying on your own you can get the ARRL Study guide, this is what I got. I like it because it has all the possible questions given on the exam. If you want, you can just study the possible questions but its really more fun to learn the material.
there r 3 clases of ham, 1.) cbers who key on hams for havin weak radios, 2.) whiny hams who wont shut up and quit bitchin about us cbers cause we got more swing then a ham ever could 3.) hams who try to get out but cant cause ham radios are junk, they need to get rid of there icom an get a cb cause there built better
in covers a few good things but some of his other vidoes makes you wanna curse him out he did a ok in this one but he sounds to rude but i think thats the way he is

Folks, does not matter. VHF, UHF or HF. We need to use all the bands or we will loose them.
Well, I prefer CW and Digital on HF but this is my taste.
Best regards to all, 73.

What a loser.
Poor grammar and poor understanding of why we dont belt out kilowatts and jam out everyone for miles.
It takes skill to send a signal across the world on low power and an idiot to belt out twaddle on a kilowatt.
Pffff CBers.
Thats why hams require a licence so muppets like you are kept off the bands.
Ham radio is too technical for someone who cannot even master english or spelling.
