Just got finished watching the series. I'm normally not interested in manga, but that ending was macabre, and I really want to see what happens next. Any hope for an animated version of following arcs?
@Ikarosus That is awesome. I feel as though the ending was really well made in the Anime, even if it was extremely grim. It's like as a standalone, it closes the story pretty well, but also leaves the opening for its continuation. I've seen the movie trailers and they look nice, can't wait for the rest of the story to be continued afterwards, though.
The skull knight is the king of the ancient country destroyed by god, which now lies underneath the dungeon at the capital of Midland. He hates and attacks the godhand at key temporal junctions, meaning key moments in the history of the earth. Oh and griffith survives his attack by distorting space and time when the skull knight tries to slash him with a really cool sword, so i think that will make it a bit hard for Guts to kill him. Just saying

Mephisto and the other 6 demons are something like the seven deadly sins.
He sacrifices his own army with his own whims, to sort of consecrate his ascension to this new form. Now returned to the natural world, he is a walking manifestation of his mind. A great conquerer, but underneath, he is a demon set only "devil's luck."
In the latest Dark Horse Berserk issue #34, it looks like Griffith and his demons are helping a new band of the hawk & humans fight other "rebel" demons. So is he kinda like the good-guy-turned-bad-guy-turned-good-again guy now, or does he plan on using these humans as sacrifice like the original eclipse?
@tubernery Griffith/Femto has created this new world for himself, merging the physical and the supernatural worlds. He'll probably use his new kingdom as a haven to protect the chosen few from the monsters now roaming the world.
It's really impossible to just watch the anime and then start watching this. Start reading the entire manga. The anime cut out Skull Knight (and almost all of volume 11, not to mention most of volumes 1 and 2). Trust me, it's so much better after you see the FULL story.

because it turned very sexual in some parts, they even skip the fight with an apostole before the eclipse cuz thay was all about rape by the apostole. so keeping the orinigal story without showing violent sexual scenes was very dificult. i think that is why the didnt continue the anime. cheers
That made me mad. The anime was pretty true until the last few episodes. I figure if they had kept the story intact up to the eclipse...and ended there, they could have picked up and continued it at some point, but the way they did it totally made so it couldn't really continue. Especially because they left the Skeleton Knight out entirely.
It tels the story of horus, the one eyed, griffith is seen from the side with only one eye visible, and guts looses his right eye. When you see him in fromt he has REPTILIAN EYES. Search for the reptilians.

on some real talk, i think Griffith is going to devise a plan to get rid of the other 4 God Hand members in the manga, so he can be number one, ruling as a king for all eternity. Makes sense seeing thats how Griffith thinks.

Well.. Kentaro Miura the Author of the Series was busy playing Idolmaster and hanging around at nico nico... and he did that in may, so i think it will take a few more months before he will finish a new chapter, but from what i heard, when he draws he puts his heart into his work..

A season 2 won't cut it - the anime was made in such a way that it had a fixed story, and many things from the manga were left out - I say if they want to animate, they should make the whole thing again, following the manga to every detail...but that is not likely to happen...I just wish the manga would come out more frequently
I love Berserk so much. It's always kinda reminded me of Frank Miller meets H. P. Lovecraft with a twist of Dante. I hope it gets the respect it deserves after its completion, I mean if Watchmen was eligible for a Hugo award, there`s no way in hell Berserk shouldn`t be.

If you read the manga, skull knight meets up with zod just outside the gateway at the time of the eclipse. Skull knight then gets past zod and saves guts and casca from their deaths. There are many subplots and some characters and even some volumes of work that are not in the anime. The anime may cover the basics of the first 12 volumes but there is still much missing. The anime was good, but the manga is so much better.

If u guys and gals want the game berserk that came out on ps2 in japan but never came out to the us, we need a lot of people and we need to bug High Moon studios, used to be Sammy studios. makers of Beserk for ps2. who knows they might either translate it and bring it over or better yet remake it for next gen system ps2 & 360. I like 5 miles away from the studio....
berserk has the best art i have ever seen in a comic, bar none. but why does it have to be so small? art this fantastic should be big, like the big akira volumes. im always getting eyestrain from staring at the tiny panels.
If anyone if interested I have plans to re-animate berserk from the bottom up, in the style of the manga, as a non-profit venture to try and bring more fans to the series. As we would be attempting to animate the whole of the series from beginning to wherever the manga is at the time it would be a very long term project but I believe it would be very rewarding for all of us.
I just want to know what people's intrest in this project would be before going ahead.
Interested, I think the anime (2nd part) should be not right after the eclipse but rather taking off from episode 1 in the anime i mean completeing what did happen after guts took the green behlit,,, and in the anime some flash backs of the eclipse and so on. because if you can recall the anime had low fantasy in it for example there was no fairy with guts and in the anime its best to keep it that way... i got alot of ideas add me if you like to discuss
a wonderfull idea, but do you really have some means or somebody you know who has right contacts?...i'm interested, but without these things is impossible...and you need a lot of money. they'll be more than 100-150 episodes!....anyway if youdo it i'll adore you just like a god ( or a devil..as we know).....best wishes!

Well.. Kentaro Miura the Author of the Series was busy playing Idolmaster and hanging around at nico nico... and he did that in may, so i think it will take a few more months before he will finish a new chapter, but from what i heard, when he draws he puts his heart into his work..
Well.. everyone needs to relax from time to time i think..

yeah, up until the eclipse, that was just the beginning. There's a site called spectrum nexus that has all the berserk mangas, up to 307 so far.

yeah i heard that to, thats why i asked. sad if they dont... i mean to leave it where it left off before is just infuriating. ive had it with all these garbige anime endings cus theyre to lazy, under funded or whatever reason to finnish what they started. its like another airgear. but way more awesome, and not a 'days of our lives' anime vomit... if they cant finnish what they start they shouldnt realy bother. instead of just leaving us to hang, or in this case cover any nearby childrens eyes...

I absolutely hate this show. I always hated Griffith. He's always been a selfish snake. And now, hes done it now. Mostly talking about him fuckin Caska. I was counting on Guts to beat the living shit out of him, rip his balls off, then carve him up!!!

A season 2 won't cut it - the anime was made in such a way that it had a fixed story, and many things from the manga were left out - I say if they want to animate, they should make the whole thing again, following the manga to every detail...but that is not likely to happen...I just wish the manga would come out more frequently

I love Berserk so much. It's always kinda reminded me of Frank Miller meets H. P. Lovecraft with a twist of Dante. I hope it gets the respect it deserves after its completion, I mean if Watchmen was eligible for a Hugo award, there`s no way in hell Berserk shouldn`t be.

If you read the manga, skull knight meets up with zod just outside the gateway at the time of the eclipse. Skull knight then gets past zod and saves guts and casca from their deaths. There are many subplots and some characters and even some volumes of work that are not in the anime. The anime may cover the basics of the first 12 volumes but there is still much missing. The anime was good, but the manga is so much better.

If u guys and gals want the game berserk that came out on ps2 in japan but never came out to the us, we need a lot of people and we need to bug High Moon studios, used to be Sammy studios. makers of Beserk for ps2. who knows they might either translate it and bring it over or better yet remake it for next gen system ps2 & 360. I like 5 miles away from the studio....

berserk has the best art i have ever seen in a comic, bar none. but why does it have to be so small? art this fantastic should be big, like the big akira volumes. im always getting eyestrain from staring at the tiny panels.

If anyone if interested I have plans to re-animate berserk from the bottom up, in the style of the manga, as a non-profit venture to try and bring more fans to the series. As we would be attempting to animate the whole of the series from beginning to wherever the manga is at the time it would be a very long term project but I believe it would be very rewarding for all of us.
I just want to know what people's intrest in this project would be before going ahead.

Interested, I think the anime (2nd part) should be not right after the eclipse but rather taking off from episode 1 in the anime i mean completeing what did happen after guts took the green behlit,,, and in the anime some flash backs of the eclipse and so on. because if you can recall the anime had low fantasy in it for example there was no fairy with guts and in the anime its best to keep it that way... i got alot of ideas add me if you like to discuss

It's still being made from what I last read. Just written about 30 pages per 2 -3 months.(Details like hell, and not to mention still a world famous manga.)
