  • I LOVE YOU! <3 YOU ARE THE BEST THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICES :)

  • Thank-You so much, I never knew that I was doing it wrong. It totally makes sense Thanks Gossxxxx

  • this guy is soo gr8

  • Huh I never thought about that. Good point. I will try this.

  • What brush would you recommend to achieve a natural look for blush. I own a typical angled brush and it grabs too much powder so I have to be careful. I would like to try a different one. What do you recommend?

  • THANK YOU!!!!! <3

  • "You don't wanna drag the bloody thing down." HAHA. Amen.

  • Omg, I just subscribed! You are a genius :D

  • I have seen so many make up tutorials show the smiling and applying blush, but I don't do that myself. It never looked right to me when I was done But thanks so much for pointing out WHY it didn't look right to me! lol I have only watched 3 of your vids but I'm impressed and you have at least one new sub today. =)

  • I really love all your tuts!!! its helps me a lot!!! thanx a lot and keep inspired all of us!!!

  • You are so right!!! Thank you so much I tried it and I love it ♥

  • Wow! I never thought of what happens when you drop the smile and the blush goes south, that makes so much sense to me! Although I never smile to apply blush but just like you, I apply it on the cheek bone, it makes so much sense why it shouldn't be used on the apples of the cheeks. Thank you for that awesome tip! You're awesome.

  • I guess all the great youtube makeup gurus such as you and Kandee Johnson have basically the same opinions on where blush should go! What she recommends is to not go further down the face than the outer corners of our eyes and work it out into our hair line in the same kind of slight diagonal blending motion =))

  • I love your suggestions. They make sense. And the whole pinching your cheeks, didn't really worked for me. Thank you!

  • It was school picture day and I forgot to wear blush. My friend said to me pinch your checks and I was like ummm no thanks.

  • I never smile.

  • thinking outside of the box!! brilliant!! why hadnt i thought of that huh. lol. thank you <3

  • I always apply blush like this and love it! but i rarely see people on youtube thinking and doing the same way! Love you even more now)))

  • "you don't wanna drag the bloody thing down" < LMAO

  • thanks for the tip ! It was helpful ^______^

  • personally i prefer putting it on the mid section of my cheeks, without doing the smiling thing, just because i put my highlight on the cheekbones xox

  • makes sense... but how would you apply a highlight?

  • you're really good! i love the tips you provide! thank you!

  • i like the idea...we don`t want to go down.....thanks 4 your videos!!!

  • I apply my blush on my cheeckbones. I've done that before I'd seen this video. I feel so smart.(:

  • new favorite guru! of all time! & i just only subbed 10 minutes ago! love love love!

  • I have been trying your methods of applying makeup, and since i have been doing so, I get compliments wherever I go, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! I love you!!!!

  • i seirusly NEVER likes applying blush to the apples of the cheeks! Everyone told me to, and people say it - and i tried it and just never liked it! ok so im not crazy! lol

  • Fantastic video. I was not happy with the smile method because the blush does end up close to my mouth area.

  • Hands down, this was the most helpful, enlightening blush-application lesson ever. Wayne, thanks a million!

  • Thanks for the tips, it really helps me and its the best.

  • :) I subscribed at the begging of the video.. I already like you! Thanks for the tip!! xoxo!

  • I have a wide face and always had a sneaking suspicion that the apple method was wrong. It always made my face look wider. Thank you for clarifying! You're awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • oh my gosh thank you everyone is always saying that im applying blush wrong cuz i dont know anything cuz im only 13 blah blah blah but i was right! i personally dont wear blush, but i do other peoples makeup

  • this was kinda elucidating. i watched your video last night and applied the way you described it today. thank you very much!

  • I have never in my life applied (spelling) the blush on the apples of the cheeks

  • i always do blush just like you, cause i have ah big apple cheek and... when im stop smiling its ruined

  • Hahaha nicki minaj and stupid hoe are tagged in this vid :DD

  • "we're old, we're getting older" ahhh, the perils of time.

  • You are quickly turning into my favorite youtube makeup guru.

  • @ccraisins2005 For me too... :))

  • that brush is from nars..love those brushes!!

  • i remember some women doing a fish face while applying a blusher.... that means they were doing it right?

  • @desertrose88 i saw this "technique" to apply bronzer to contouring. (if I remember well Temptalia did a video)

  • @desertrose88 That was a trick to help find where to put contour. The "fish face" shows where under the cheekbone is, and putting contour there makes the cheekbone pop out. Never contour with blush.

  • My cheeks are mostly apples, and seriously, I hate accentuating my full cheeks, I want to show that I do indeed have cheekbones! Thank you for the tips!

  • Thanks for this video! I am going to try the technique tomorrow morning for sure

  • OMG - so great to finally hear that the whole "Smile to get the blush on the apple of your cheeks" thing isn't the only way to get blush on correctly! I have an asian face that is relatively flat and the whole apple cheek thing just literally didn't sit right for my face! I've always done my blush the Goss Way which always looked much better! And totally agree - "I don't think so!" Go for whatever colour you fancy! Love you Goss!

  • omfg FINALLYYYY there is someone else out there who agrees with me!!! I NEVER EVER apply blush to the "apples" of my cheeks...... it looks horrible and wrong.... I always thought there was something wrong with me or maybe I was just doing it wrong? Yeah it was never a good technique for me nor the people whom I've tried it on thus far.

  • Haha 'you don't wanna bloody lift the thing down'.

  • You are such a teacher. New subbie!!! Thank you for the knowledge

  • OMG I LOVE YOU

  • I was wondering about applying blush while I'm smiling. I knew it didn't look right when I did it I thought that was how it was supposed to be done. After seeing this I'm never applying it to my apples.

  • I got told by a local makeup store to apply blusher where my fringe is to my cheek bone. I like applying it on the apple of my cheeks but I move it up to the fringe line.

  • I naturally blush lower than my cheek bone. Should I apply this technique? Usually I apply blush where I know I'm naturally more pinkish.

  • This has changed my life! Got so many compliments today! Thank you!!!

  • i love youuu

  • Thanks for the awesome tips ^^

  • lol hes funny when he talks about the sagginess thanks for the tip i do apply on apples but does look abit too much once i did it by the mouth by mistake now i do it from ear to apple cheek

  • I love you, and you are fantastic. A real pro, I'm done listening to any YouTube guru that's not as good as you lol

I've never applied blush on the apples on my cheeks like most people did, I thought I was the only one that thought it was just wrong...

    Thank you so much!

  • so if you put blush there, where do you put the highlight?

  • omg finally! i hate it when gurus put blush to the apple of their cheek, it doesn't look well :/

  • wowow ur amazing!!!

    thank you soooooo much :)

  • At last!!! Someone who gives really great tips! :) Thank you.

  • thanks for the tip :)

  • Great tip & great job explaining the technical aspect of this technique!

  • awesome tip.....thnx

    Congratulations!

  • You are so wonderful! <3

  • thank u that helped a lot! I have a problem with eye shadow.. i don't know where it should end! i always end up with a "cat eye" effect which doesn't look good on me since i have very round eyes!

Please do another video on this topic..!

  • "Everything goes south" hahahhahah oh my god hes too cute <3

  • Wow!! Thanks for that tip. I'm getting older. lol. I really thought the apples of the cheek was right but your absolutely right. I love you. :D

  • That's a great tip!

  • i want the illusion of a smaller nose with my makeup :(is there any way you could give us a tutorial on not a slimmer nose but a smaller nose?I would love you forever? :D

  • Thanks, awesome tips

  • You are absolutely awesome... I haven't been wearing my blush because I don't like it on the apples of my cheeks. You rock!!!

  • love you and your tips!!!

  • thanks so much deff helped :)

  • Yes, ok but my cheekbones are quite high, so if I put the blusher there, there is no place for the highlighter then....

  • after applying blusher on the cheek bone, does the highlighter go on top of it then? :s

  • what Wayne is saying here are the exact opposite of what Bobbi Brown said in this video by AssociatedPress. I can't put the web link, but try searching for :Tips From Make-up Artist Bobbi Brown" on March 23, 2009, the one with the Asian model.

LOL! Bobbi said "always smile, apply to the apple of the cheek" and "choose a natural color that your cheeks turn when you exercise or if you pinch them"

Buti have more faith in Wayne! Hahaha.. You go Wayne!

  • Interesting video! Thanks!

  • "You don't wanna drag that bloody thing down" xD

  • I love you!!! Every video I watch, it makes me fall for you even more! lol! all those tips!

  • Best makeup tip i ever tried and that worked. Thankyou so much <3 i love the way it looks on me!

  • It makes a lot of sense!!! Thanks for the tip :)

  • The only solution: Never end smiling! ;-)

Thank you, great video, I'm going to try it next time!

  • That makes a whole lotta sense!!! My sis told me to put it on the apples of my cheeks but then again she has such a young-looking face with big cheeks...not me lol. I used to put blush on my cheekbones and will go back to doing that! Thanks Wayne! :-)

  • So glad that i was oringinally taught to put blush on my cheekbones.

  • Finallly! Someone understands why it is wrong to apply blush to the apples of the cheeks. You are truly a remarkable makeup artist!

  • thank you u really helped me out!

  • Thank you so much <3

  • love this video

  • So, if you put blush where you are calling cheek bones, when you smile, because everything goes up, it will look like you have blush right down your eyes, right? i guess that looks weird too!

  • The apples of my cheeks are on my cheek bones

  • that's funny.. i always put blush on my cheekbones but, thought that saying "apples of my cheeks" was just a cute way of saying the same thing. huh. cool vids!

  • sounds legit. :D

  • simple and practical tips given in a clear way - perfect!

  • am too thin i don't have any cheeks so that make me lost when i put blush thank you for helping me hahaha :P

  • than you your vid is very helpful and amazing :)

  • you are one of my fav top tutorials to watch.. thx for all the advice

  • Im not trying to be a total priss but are you a homosexual?

  • Comment removed

  • I started doing this just a week or so ago, and I absolutely love the results. It really does make my make-up look so much better. Great advice. Thanks!

  • great tip! thanks!!

  • I almost never wear blush, but when I do, it's usually someone else doing my make up and always asks for me to smile. I actually never got why blush should be applied while smiling because it wasn't exactly going to be on the cheeks afterwards, so I never liked the idea of smiling and putting blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Thank you for this video! :)

  • im just 18 years old! guess this dont apply to me sweetcheeks.

  • just amazing !!!

  • this was really helpful u r so true about that !!!

  • You are just an amazing person and i truly enjoy watching you and your tips are so amazing. Right to the point and its kinda "DUH" proof :P I am not a professional but with your advice I can look like i know what i am doing and feel confident in doing it. Thank you and God bless you!!

  • Do you do make up courses in London?please try answer me

  • I like putting blush on the apples of the cheek, but when try this on an older person should i also use highlight? or is highlight a no no for older people?

  • Totally agree with you. I like it better now. I'm 23 but I rather do it your way. Tyvm, you're awesome.

  • When i put blush on i do the fish lips way <3

  • quite surprisinglyyyy i never smile when i put blush on lol

  • honestlyyyy u rock lol cnt get enough of ur videos n tippps :D

  • Interesting. I liked it. Well... my natural blush IS on the apple of my cheeks. (usually I don't even need to apply blush) So I see why people would apply it like that, the times when I apply blush I do it like that as well. Then again I am 20, so I'm young and can pull it off.

  • you are right , i used to be in love pink blushes but when i apply it it make my face like i'm choking

  • Omg didn't know that..thx tons for the tip..love ya

  • I really liked your style of communicating - I've subscribed after just watching this video alone. Nice work, thanks.

  • Lol. I agree with choosing your own blush. How weird would it be if we only ever chose the colour that we naturally were?

  • good

i knew that even then thanks for sharing

  • No im getting old and things are going south and creases are forming nooooooooooo ... say it aint so! ;0P.. on a serious note thanks for the tip, ive bene doing my make up the same way for over 10 years i subbed to get some info on doing something new and different to make me look younger! no more creases! lol.

  • EVERYTHING is going south hahaha, im 18 and even i dont apply blush to the apples, it looks wierd on me ad muchh more flattering applied higher up :)

  • Thank you so much for making this vid.. I use to apply it like how you just stated, but then I listened to Oprah's makeup artist (I think his name was Reggie; older guy). I ALWAYS felt weird about how the blush looked on my "maturing" face. hahahaha! So glad you gave me a reality check. I love, love, LOVE your vids!

  • Wow, I did'nt know this. Gonna try it :-)

  • Yes! I'm doing it correctly after all these years! LOL.

  • you, my friend, are a friggin' genius!! i always thought smiling technique does not make any sense!

  • THIS TOTALLY MAKES SENSE NOW THAT U METION IT..WINK ;)

  • Wow

  • *pinch my cheeks* Purple it is!!

  • Holy balls!!! I do this too !!I just commented on ur other video the drag queen Kim k vid

It's nice to know I've been doing this well

  • OMG I'm getting older!

  • "You don't wanna drag the bloody thing down..." Haha, so true! Love you, love your videos!

  • Hi,,i just wanna say that you have the most amazing way of explaining things about make-up application in a manner that will not offend those who have been doing their own thing in that regard and still, your tips come out very, very convincing and realistic as well. I am a big fan (can't help saying that :)

  • Some folks watch Television for entertainment........what a waste......too bad for them! They should be watching you! You are entertainining! Plus, if they watched you, they would learn somethings at the same time! Keep up the good work!!!

  • You are simply precious!!!!! I am a bit older.......you are So correct!!! but, even if I wasn't you are just sooo sweet!

  • i find applying blusher to the apples of my cheek is better because it gives my face a better shape i dunno i like it now it makes my cheeks look like leighton meester's

i used to apply it the way you described it but a bit lower because the area your talking about is for the highlighter it doesnet need to be pink

but i apply my blusher differently each time it depends on the mood also im 18 :D i don't need"THE LIFT"

  • Super cool technique, it's really helpful!!

  • this video is so helpful. thanks for making it

  • "you don't want your face to go south" LOL

    Awesome video!!!

  • You're awesome! Very diplomatic : )

  • GOLD BLUSH?! COOL!!:)

  • tis is so true, thanks!

  • Love this tip!

  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't put blush on the apples of my cheeks!

  • LOVE this vid! Thanks so much so extremely helpful!

  • for some reason my cheekbone feels very high! like too close to my eyes.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!! by the way..if there's any non-believer in this technique , look at Bianca's Balti make up)

  • lol

  • well I think that it depends on what kind of make up one wears. for a daily make up a soft touch of pink apple-blush would make it look fresh and naturally healthy. that's what I'm told when I do it (<- how fresh I look). On a night-out make up with smokey eyes and all that I would not do the apple-blush thing because in the darker lights you wouldn't see it anyway and if you overdid it you'd surely look weird. Anyway I don't think there is a one-for-all-rule

  • Very smart advice ! I definately agree with this method.

  • you dont wana drag the bloody thing down ;) haha

  • thanks soo much!!! u just solved my blush problems!!!lol

  • This is interesting; I'm a make-up artist, and I've always done this, simply because it has always seemed so logical to me. Thank you for the video!
