  • @nunaavane which second song did you play in ur video? i like it :)

  • where are you from? you talk just like my aunt!

  • @MsDjDevine looool, really? middle africa :-)

  • GASP!! You put some relaxer on ur ends at 8:50 - 9:03!!

  • @KiKiForeverBBZ yeah i know :-( that's why i protected my ends at the beginning of the video, it helps when that type of mistakes happen.... but it was my 1st time self relaxing so i got better now :-)

  • @nunaavane Yay!! Hopefully when I move out of my parents' house and I get 18 I can learn how to self relax. Your hair is very beautiful by the way!! XOXO

  • @KiKiForeverBBZ thank you :-) hope you'll let me kow when u do your 1st self relaxer ;-)

  • @nunaavane Yes maam, hopefully you'll still be making YT videos when I'm 18 lol

  • Women be crazy. :]

  • Hairdressers wash ur hair out first. if you don't the chemical will keep working on your hair even though you rinse. if all u needed to do was rinse to get it out we wouldn't need to neutralize. so you were right. I'm going to try this next time i need to relax LOL I'm nervous. It was good seeing how u did it. Thank you.

  • @niksnic86 thanks 2 you for watching, hope you'll get good results

  • You should have used the 2 minute reconstructor first. You can get rid of all the relaxer using a bit of normal shampoo then put the reconstructor Then the neutralizer.

  • @katwao13 This makes me not want to self relax. because her overlap is so bad. I dont want overlap.

  • 13:11 lol wooo

  • 13:11 lol wooo

  • @katwao13 thank you ! i wish you all the best in reaching your goals

  • love ur accent

  • @12345678987654321do thank you, lol

  • i put in a texturizer in my hair today for the 1 time, omg i was soooo nervouse when i applied it lol, when people relax their hair on youtube they make it seem so easy but its not lol, but i think i may start relaxing my hair on my own, and i have telaxed hair :) thnx for your video

  • @123agent101 you are so true, it is hard to do ! lol, but i wish you all the best, you'll save a lot of money, lol

  • why do you have advertisements

  • @Cherish51099 where?????? i don't see them :-(

  • ur so cute with ur accent

  • @imanid50dee awww thanks :-)

  • Lol at the part where you got the mirror and your appling relaxer to the middle of your head. It starts at 8:12. ☺

  • @BlkSlik looool i know haha ha

  • Hola Nuna, Let me say I luv your videos and you as a person... You have a very positive personaility and you are from France this is so cool. I like that you are so positive and motivating in your videos... which inspires me to do better. I too am on a hair care journey and I will be relaxing and trying ORS for the first time Friday... Thank you for reviewing as I was using Mizani but my hair is in a dry stage at this moment and I want something a bit more oragnic... so thanks 4 this video

  • @song5537 you are more than welcome girl ! tks to you for the very very nice comment & support, keep me updated on the relaxer ok?

  • this video is really great !=) But how long do you let the relaxer act after finishing putting it all over on your head?

  • @celiouu77 in this particular video i went over the advised time so it stayed about 2 mns, but lately i have been leaving it about 8 to mns afterwards

  • we have the same type of combs YAY! great totourial

  • @CrushPartyIce lol, tks

  • Hey i just wanted to thank you for the video i just finish perming my hair for the first time, and so far i think it came out great!!

Thank you soo much i did it while watching your video.. lol take care bye

  • @estherfj04 awww thanks so much ! i am glad it worked great !

  • wow u stir super fast lol

  • @Ariesjp loool, i think it was fast forward, lol

  • what kind of conditoner was that you used before you put the relaxer in and what do that do for the hair?

  • @2blackqueens1 Tresemme vit E rich moisture conditioner : to protect the previous relaxed hair from overlapping

  • Hmm o.o Did you know using relaxer kills your scalp? and hair :O, but what hair product doesnt? hmm lol the life of vanity >_> Dont we all love it?

  • @mapledork729 looooool, so so true !

  • When you wash out the relaxer, "because of the relaxer's high pH, the cuticle layer is the most open it will ever be. Introducing the protein at this phase allows for maximum protein penetration and replacement due to the extreme lifting of the cuticle layer following the relaxing process." The trick is to not leave the protein in for too long, because the neutralizing process is so crucial to the relaxing process. Love your results, this video helped a lot! <3333

  • Thank you for the video. I am planning to do a root touch up on my hair and using the same kind of relaxer that you are using. I am just hoping I am not going to make a boo boo. I think I am going to take the chance and getting it done by myself and if I ruin it I will have to get a nice wig to put on....LOL

  • @sholloway410 looool, you won't ruin it :-)

just trust the Lord and yourself :-) and let me know the results :-)

  • iz no lye relaxer better dan lye relaxers. plz can u xplain y aswel kar my hair is virgin nd i want 2 relax it. Thxz luv ur vids:)

  • well i have no clue, really ! i did a video that is called "changing relaxers..." i was asking to ppl to help me between lye & no lye, i had a lot of answers :-)

  • werr u from? i hear an accent

  • hi there, pls check out my FAQ video, link in the side bar :-)

  • very proud of you!!! im sooo scared to do it but i want to cuz the salon girls end up getting the relaxer all over all my hair, i know they put conditioner on it to protect it but i still dont like that . My hair is the same lenghth as yours, a lil bit thicker, how do you wait 12 weeks? i have to go in by 8 is it better to wait longer than 8?

  • lol, tks

well it is said that the less relaxer the better, i do a lot of protective stylez to go more than 12 weeks... but it's up to you , if hair is breaking a lot & shedding, means you need to relax dont wait longer

If not well you can hold it until 9, then 10 etc... take it 1 week at a time, your hair will grow stronger :-)

  • Geez you're lucky thats all the relaxer you need for your hair, because if I put that much of relaxer on my new growth, it would seriously laugh at me and would not get straight. My new growth is so thick... I once tried to self relax using the same amount of relaxer you used and left it on my hair for 45mins and i was still under processed!!!! like wtf!!!

  • lol, i totally feel you on this one ! that is what i was thinking for my next relaxer, get 2 jars ! loool

  • for relax your hair you need two mirros..on infront of you and other behind...that you can see your back hair when you r relaxing... that what i do....

  • tks for the advice

  • Hi Nuna,

I have the same relaxer product as yours. But I've lost my instruction booklet and I don't know how to use.. Can you tell me how? How long should I let it sit in my hair? (I have fine hair). And what should I do after the relaxer? In consecution, please.

I will try it on your way. Very handy. Thanks for the video, lady!

  • hi there, well i don't have the box anymore as this video was recorded 4 months ago ;-)

    my next relaxer is february

maybe try to google it to find the instructions...or go in a bss to ask to see the instructions, i can't mislead you

    tks for watching

  • Yes I have already tried, but I have not found. I want to know how you did..

  • well i don't remember , maybe it was 18min application and smoothing, but i am not sure sorry

and i did it like you see it in the video ;-)

  • And what about the Replenishing Pak, Creamy Aloe Shampoo, Mousse Wrap, Olive Oil? What should I use after the relaxer?

    Thanks for your help. ;)

  • i think itz so dangerous for you to be applying it yourself becuz of timing

  • @JuelzThaHustler : hi, tks for the nice comment, i set the timer, lol, sorry if i forgot to mention it in the video

  • i love the 2nd song. wuts it called, it sounds like asa....

    nice vid btw

  • thank you :-)

ps : check the info box for the music

  • I was going to do a video myself relaxing my hair, but I didn't want people to see me jumping around & fanning from the pan. Lol The perm is good. :)

  • lool, hope you're relaxer was good ;-)

  • I think your videos are great.

  • thank you promise me ;-)

  • Wow nunaa, thats was a very good self service, you did great

  • thank you, i was afraid but i prayed so it was ok ;-)

  • wow like this video...learned alot!! did it burn at all?

  • no, not at all, it did not all ! maybe this is why i ended up with a texlaxed texture...

will do it again in a week (after a 10 weeks stretch...lol), stay tunned for the video

  • That's the exact relaxer that my hairdresser uses.

  • how do u like it?

  • I love it and all the products that come with it. I previously used Motions which is a lye product. I was sceptical at first when she used no-lye because these are supposed to make your hair dry. I was pleasantly surprised. I had 15 wk of new growth which was difficult to comb, but it came out bone straight and still feels the same 2 wk later. The conditioning treatment made my hair feel silky smooth for a week even after I had washed it. My verdict is I would definitely use this relaxer again.

  • thank so much for sharing with me, i used it again that time around ;-)

    (after a 10 weeks stretch)

  • Great job!! Ur doing a wonderful job with your hair! Love ur vids

  • tks a lot, i appreciate it ;-)

  • nunaavane,

Hello I love you tutorial, next re-touch up try not to part your hair down the middle only because you can weaken your hair and it will break off if you continue to part it in the same section. Keep up the wonderful work, your a pro.

    Your new subbie,

    Carmen

  • hi girl, tks a lot

But i think next touch up is a t the salon, hahahha, i can't do it with 3 textures on my head (relaxed, texlaxed and ng ! lol)

  • i juss relaxed my hair with ors.. i think it worked rlyy good ...

  • great ;-)

  • tks girl, well it did not burn, like not at all ! it started to tingle a little bit, and i was scared of the results so i ran to rinse it out, hahahaha

  • no pb, lots of love ! !

let me know how it turns out

  • doesn't a relaxer cause hair loss? i did it once but i lost lots of hair in the shower. any idea why is that?

  • it can be because of over processing = leaving the relaxer too long on your hair

A relaxer doesn't cause hair loss AS LONG AS YOU TAKE GOOD CARE of the hair ! i relax every 3 to 4 months and i thank God my hair is having good progress :-))

  • maybe your relaxer is to strong for your texture of hair.

  • Great vid mama!

  • thank you ladies

  • I love it! You did a great job!

  • hi nunaa! i'm a new sub! Where is the second vid girl?! Good job! thanks for sharing.

  • Hey Sis..Great Job on your first relaxer..I love the mirror on one hand ,and brush on the other technique..you looked like a pro ..lol..your hair looks beautiful...I wanted to know what is the name of that conditioner you used for your ends?

  • hi girl, tks a lot

i used the ORS replenishing pak that was provided in the box, i have some at home but there was one in ;-)

  • I love Erykah Badu...and Nunaa! :)

  • lol, thank you girl ;-)

  • Hey, awesome video, you did really well. I've been looking to improve my relaxer tecnique, and I think I've been going wrong with the smoothing. Your length looks great, I hope to be there soon.

  • you did a great job Nunaa for this to be your first time and your hair turned out GREAT, can't wait to see more pics on KISS, u are full APL, YAYYYYYYY!!!!!

  • I always used to neutralise 1st too...after a relaxer the hair shaft will still be open even after neutralising, maybe not as much but still...my priority was to get the chemicals out 1st xx

  • Great job and progress Nunaa! I used the ORS in the past and loved the results too coz my hair was never bone straight, its also made it easier to transition with the 2 textures ;0)

  • looks great hun!!!

  • Wow, your hair looks great, it's really growing! Definitely is encouraging me to get serious about my hair journey! Great job and good luck!

  • Wow your results are fabulous! Your hair is very long:) Very Pretty....good job. And you save yourself some money at the same time. Gotta Love that!

    Blessings to you:)

  • omg nunaa!! its so long!!!!!!!! good jo

  • i had to pull up the results at the end lol ur hair has gotten thicker n longer i love to progress congrats to u

  • nunaa i've been waiting for this video alllll weekend...you did a good job and it has grown out very good!

  • Ta technique est excellente!

  • I would still use Vaseline or any other petroleum based grease to base my scalp and protect my skin. Tes cheveux sont longs... wow... Continue!!!

  • Nunaaa !! Nunaaa !!! Your hair has grown sooooo much !!!! I'm very very happy for you. Well done with the self relax girl !!! You did an amazing job !!! Bravo !!! Tes cheveux sont long et épais !!!

  • thank you nina mia

  • Look at your hair in your flat iron video from 4 months ago! It's grown So much in four months! Go Nuna!

  • Your hair has grown lot! It's gotten thicker too!

  • yes it came out great to say you did not have help. well help from the almighty.

  • lol i love those faces you make when ur concentrating, funny lady! u must be so, so proud of ur self! kudos good job madam!

  • you could use vaseline , instead of the castor oil so you can save it for your hair :)

  • Excellent video! Glad you can now say you are a self relaxer! Doesn't it feel good to know that you did it with the Lord's help? Isn't He great!

  • You did a fab job! Don't worry about the texlaxing effect. My daughters hair has been texlaxed since we first started relaxing and she loves it. I had to relax her whole head (virgin hair) the first time working as quick as possible. Her ends are slighly curly from it and the roots are straighter.

Doing the 2 min before the poo'ing only helps to add protein right back to the hair while the hair shaft is still open from the relaxer. It closes back up after you add the poo. Either way works :)

  • I love this video!!! I'm happy you self relaxed and you did a great job!!! I was cheering you on girl!!! I love the music choices too!!! Ever since I self relax in 1995 with PCJ per their instructions, I protein condition after rinsing the relaxer out... Now that I use Mizani BB , I see per Mizani instructions to add the protein creme condish then shampoo and then deep condition... It's all up to the person, if you feel comfortable shampooing after the relaxer that great too! Your hair is long

  • well done with the self relax. i just began self relaxing and i do the protein before the neutralizing as this i find is good to put back the protein into the hair whiles the shaft is still open from the relaxer process,.just rinse very and for a long time to make sure the relaxer is out, before doing this. the protein conditioner, as it to brings down the hairs ph, will also 'neutralise' the hair. this step will help with thickness. hth

  • i go back and forth about doing the protein first before neutralizing also...i will be doing my first self relaxer in a few weeks. watching u made me feel more confident! thx! so glad u like it.

  • Your hair has grown so long.

  • Go on Brave girl! Yes Nunaa you do have to rinse all the relaxer out really good then neutralize. I neutralize it four times then I reconstruct it with a good reconstructor conditioner to rebuild the hair. ORS hair mayonaise is great for that to. I can't wait to see your results. Your hair is growing like crazy. Results girl, results. lol....

  • thank you so so much, especially you ! i love you so much, tks for your constant support

  • thanks nunaaa!! As beautiful as always. haha, the faces you make are too hilarious!! I watched Alraines video too and yeah those timers are too tricky. when she said she does everything including application in 7 mins I was like "eh?!" in 7 minutes i'm still at the back. waiting to see the results.

  • looool, i knew you'd laugh for the funny faces, hahahhhaaa

    tks alot

and yes i was also like "7mns???" in human time? lol

    but she is gifted ;-)

  • i luv that relaxer i use extra strength but umm heres a tip when you put on the conditioner act like your greasing ur scalp n apply it like grease directly to the scalp it makes it so soft especially if you sit under the dryer HOPE THIS HELPS NUNNAA

  • tks for this tip, this is actually what i do on a regular basis but girl my hair was so flat i felt it directly on my scalp, lol

    tks a lot

  • Well done! It looks good, you didn't over cook it! It looks healthy and longer.

    xx

  • Nunaa thank you:) You give me faith when the time comes around to try to self-relax. I might feel differently then but we will see. The wait was definitely worth it. Can't wait to see your results --- happy hair growing chica!

  • tks a lot my lovely prettyeyes

  • You go nunaavane ..........

  • Hi Nuna, please tell me that you used a neutralizing shampoo and not a regular shampoo after washing out your perm. They are not the same. I could not see all of the bottle, but I hope you did. :-)

  • hi there, this shampoo is a neutralizing / clarifying one ;-)

tks so so much for caring ;-)

  • You go girl for doing your relaxing...I've been doing mine for years and I tell u...it's much better than when I used to go the salons. When my hair is burning me, I know I have to be extra sensitive in that area in terms of combing the roots, but when someone else is doing it, they don't know how it feels when they are combing it out!!

  • Also, thanks for making the video for us. God bless you!

  • Omg, Nunaa! congrats, I m happy you made it through. Girl you must post the other part. Tu nous fais languir :(. btw, there is one part on my hair too that is hard to straighten too; like you say: no biggie.
