My pet wild squirrels sometimes put my finger in there month by accident thinking its a peanut . I feel their razor sharp teeth and just pull back a little. They never attempt to bite. Because I'm not restricting their moment. That squirrel might like riding on your shoulder or something but don't confine it.

hahahah reminds me of myself when I was kid and the chipmunk I caught and wanted to keep bit me the same way. That was like 20 years ago and im still kickin, guess it wasnt rabid.

here's a good tip: Rabid animals are very clumsy, and they do not eat. they can't swallow. when a wild animal is drooling a lot, and maybe even starts following you around for no reason, it's rabid. their brains go into zombie mode, and their motor skills are destroyed. any natural instinct is just gone.

see what an awesome experience? it's scary, but now you can tell other people that you didn't get rabies. i was bitten too, and got a little concerned. but apparently squirrels don't even carry rabies. they're too weak to survive it. great video!! thanks for sharing :)

Yes, you do die from rabies! In a human being it takes 6 months for the symptoms to show. Any warm blooded mammal can have rabies including opposums and armadillos. The shots to counteract the virus cost between 1200 and 1800 dollars depending. Just so everyone knows usually animals with rabies will salivate ALOT. Also their motor skills will be off and they WILL be super aggressive. So if you see a drooling, stumbling, coming at you critter of any sort...don't pick it up...run away.

A wild squirrel can become quite tame if you get them into the habit of coming to you for food, but that doesn't make them a house pet. You should never try to pick them up or pet them. They're a wild animal. Mom should have known that!

That's a pretty tame squirrel to let you hold him that long. Pretty cool. Most squirrels don't have rabies. I feed them all the time by hand, but don't pick them up.

Funniest part - 0:38 onward, little boy, thing about wild animals...they're wild, and will act on instinct, some are friendlier than others. Squirrels can be tamed, my grandpa had one as a pet at one point, or so he told me. (I'm sure he did, he had little reason to lie about that). Thing is, handling it like that probably scared the crap out of it.
