It's definitely small ball; like shadow said there's no popping sound when they hit. You can also tell by the playing styles, they're a lot more conservative with their shots (except Rookie, he tries to spike or kill everything regardless)

corner shots -_-. Just by the sound of that already know you're a noob. Its abot placing the ball so its harder for the player to hit so they give you an easier setup for the finishing kill. For example hitting the ballat medium height so it passes right pass your arms.

just flick ur wrist and besides the ace ball bounces very awkwardly so u dont have to wrry about cutting

oh and btw learn to hook with an ace on ur serves. hooks are a good thing to know how to do wen ur playing a pro
