  • great song!! great job, Chris!

  • I don,t normally like covers of zep but this one gives the song the respect it deserves.

  • @paintedblack01 that's because Chris Cornell gives pretty much everything what it deserves... he's the shit in case you haven't noticed.

  • @HillsideKlepht Iv not heard much of his stuff but I respect what he did with this song.I think that some songs are very hard to do right with a cover, like comfortably numb.

  • @paintedblack01 oh ok... well if you like rock I suggest you check out his other stuff like Soundgarden and Audioslave and a bunch of solo stuff... he's by far one of the top rock vocalists ever.

  • Check out the original beautiful song on Led Zep 2. Robert's voice is very plaintive and soothing. It's one of my favorite songs!

  • simply amazing

  • It's "look see" not "look and see".

  • Great vocal cover of the mighty Zeppelin.....but the original has a Jimmy Page solo, and you can't be that...ever.

  • I love this song!!!

  • I usually dislike remakes of songs, but this is by all means one of chris's best!

  • Dedicated to you my love....you are my girl....

  • Very good

  • Chris Cornell IS THE KING OF COVERS

  • Simply amazing

  • Breaks my heart every time :(

  • Amazing :)

  • amazing! allways find myself playing this when I go through my fav playlist!!

  • The performance on Stern was one of the best i've ever heard. What a tribute to the greatest rock band ever

  • @mtarborist Agreed. Fred opened the show with it the other day and it's just amazing.

  • This guy is about the only one that can pull off excellent covers of Led Zeppelin masterpieces. I wish others would just leave perfection alone.

  • "Thearob71" i agree with you, his performance on stern was perfect, had to download his songbook ep's as soon as I heard it. Which by the way are great.

  • If you liked this, you gotta hear it from the Howard Stern Show. He did this and John Lennons 'Imagine'. Amazing.

  • Truly amazing performance. A great show of respect for the Led Zeppelin original. Great vocals, great mood, great everything, just perfect.

  • The 'ohhhhhhhh' parts are ubelievable.

  • flip side of, immegrant song by Led Zeppelin. back when there were vinyl 45's.

im old or i know something new. LOL... :)-

  • This makes me happy. This makes me so happy.

  • as if i didn't love chris cornell enough---he is literally the ONLY person who can pull off comparable covers of zeppelin songs. simply beautiful. i'm praying i can see this live someday!

  • god, chris sings this so amazing, he is a legend to me for over 20 yrs, so pleased i met him last month, a true music genius and top man, luv ya forever mate. x

  • ...I'm speechless, this is so beautiful.

  • He's not overlooked, he was voted #6 best male rock vocalist of all time!!

  • that's actually one of the best covers i have ever heard period. well done cornell!

  • @masuda316 I agree so much! His voice has so much emotion in this, it's so beautiful.

  • One of my favorite Zeppelin songs. If I was an artist, I would cover it too!

  • this song is on the unplugged in sweden album. there alot of good covers on this album and it is one of my most listened to on my mp3.

  • I love it when you here a song for the first and instantly fall in love with it from the first verse mr Cornell you are a legend and thanks for the last 20 years of amazing vocals....

  • @atomi62: so true. i saw him in concert in Tucson for KMFA day. he was amazing! overall, best ever performance i seen. did a little bit of everything. unfortunately, not this song though. he just might be THE BEST ARTIST today. AMAZING doesn't quite cover it.

  • This guy sings with real fucking soul! Truly gifted!

  • It's good...but it doesn't beat Led Zeppelin's version.

  • @quintva55 nothing ever will.

  • @chetoos008 Agreed. :)

  • heard a girl shouting?

  • ONE M00:00RE TIME !!!

  • Definitely did justice! No easy task, he just gets better and better :)

  • sorry still love Robert better!

  • simply AMAZING!

  • This song usually fixes every emotional problem I have at least temporarily. Unfortunately it's just making me wish someone honestly felt that way about me. but I guess crying it out is good too.

  • @YokoLeee If I may; put this song away. Good Luck

  • @YokoLeee Well, then lets just say you can enjoy this song in a way that many of us cant. In a way im happy for you. It means that one day things will get better for you :) Thats always good, feeling better, wont you say? :)

  • @aliciaeloizos if you can't find it... message me. I will tell you how to get it.

  • ..the greatest cover that i ever heard!!! Big up

  • After all of these years, Chris' voice still gives me goosebumps. I saw Soundgarden live last week and he is still so unbelievably talented. I would see him 100 times again live, if I could. He's one of my favourites! This is the first time I'm hearing this cover, and it'll be on repeat!

  • Cornell is hands down the best rock vocalist since Plant.

    Well done bro

  • ahahah Led forever!

  • yeah METAL vocalists

  • NO, NO, NO!!! this is a rock song, it can exist just in one version!!!!

  • Awesomeness, playing and singing awesomeness.

  • holy crap this is the bomb!

  • zayebiste!!!!!!

  • OMG his voice is amazing....but your comments are soooo annoying. This isn't about you, it's about Chris Cornell....

  • I'm so in love with this version and how Chris delivers...ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL...true artist indeed, owns the song completely!

  • Thanx so much for the share. Find myself coming back to this video repeatedly!! I'm blown away with his beautiful voice from heaven....

  • Must be something in the Seattle water - CC and Eddie Vedder are still amazingly talented.

They should regroup Temple of The Dog.

  • @lastdaysguitar Agreed! I got to see Eddie Vedder solo in March and Chris Cornell solo last week and I'm so grateful.

  • @CamoShafto Umm, the "modern day Chris Cornell" IS Chris Cornell.

Don't flatter yourself on broadcast youtube posts man - it's ugly and pretty pathetic... especially as you aren't even close to Cornells skill yet.

Get out of rich daddy's house, write a few dozen killer songs a year - tour for a decade or two and THEN get back to us with how much you are like Cornell.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto If you think you can get ahead in music by lying about your abilities you're in for a very short ride, Milli Vanilli is DEAD man.

The only thing I saw on your video was the pathetic promotion of another talentless punk with delusions of grandeur, so yeah - thanks for wasting about 10 seconds.

  • @lastdaysguitar I hope your not talking about Mr. Cornell. If you are than your mother is sick of you and must of told you she regrets the day she gave birth to you. But if your not talking about Mr. Cornell than I'm Truely Sorry.

  • @ncaldwell911 Nope, talking about that punk CamoShafto - he's claiming he's "the new Chris Cornell" all over youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto

Hey, Mr. "I'M THE MODERN DAY CHRIS CORNELL" your the weeniest singer with the biggest EGO I've EVER seen.

And by the way - I DID use my ears, and your NOT EVEN CLOSE, so stop whining!

  • @CamoShafto Wow. Reverb Nation: that is SO "exclusive"... how DID you ever get on there?

Here's a tip: Even IF mommy, & daddy, & all your close personal friends DO encourage your pretending, that is not a reason to claim you are "THE NEW CHRIS CORNELL"! I'll bet you've made & worn colorful teeshirts with your own photo onstage haven't you?

Cornell's NOT DONE: we sure DON'T need or want a "NEW" replacement! Certainly not a self-promoting idiot poser diva that hits clams every 4th note.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto "mommy and daddys money cant buy raw talent"... agreed, and that is your problem: you don't have any real talent transcending local bar gigs, yet you self-promote in dozens of Chris Cornell vids as "THE NEW CHRIS CORNELL"

    ...as if.

    It's just obnoxious.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto Listen you sick little punk: YOU are the pissant claiming to BE Cornell, and YOU are as gay as they come!

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto Your a liar.

  • @lastdaysguitar You said: "I am the modern day CHRIS CORNELL! "

and you also said: "I claim to be Cameron Jayne, with a bit of influence from Cornell and many others"

These are the diametrically opposed statements of a double-minded (i.e.: lying) person.

Make up your mind - ARE you Chris Cornell or not?

If you're NOT... (and from your lame singing you most certainly are NOT) that makes you a pathetic PRETENDING CHILD-LIAR.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto

Camoshafto 2 days ago:"I am the modern day CHRIS CORNELL!"

Camoshafto today: "I am well aware that im no Chris Cornell."

Progress has been made in your awareness at least of THAT point.

If only you hadn't littered virtually EVERY Cornell video on youtube on with your sick (and false) boast to be the new Cornell... it might not have been so obnoxious.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto Of course I checked it out, but I lost interest and quickly learned of your delusions of granduer after you hit several flat notes only seconds into your "masterpeices".

Sorry, I just couldn't hear anything close to Chris Cornell talent there... not new, not old, or otherwise - so the next question is: do you have a future in music?

I'd say as a local bar singer, maybe - IF you stop lying, get humble, & just sing - let others praise you - don't do it yourself... it's just ugly.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto

Spoken like a true American Idol reject: You DO go flat quite a bit actually, and based on comments on your own page I'm not the only one who has noticed.

I've never heard of Rebecca Lynn Howard but I've actually played with some of the best pros myself - names people would actually recognize - but I don't brag on it in youtube because being in a garage doesn't make you a car: I let my music do the talking, and I'd suggest you get over yourself and do the same.

  • Comment removed

  • @CamoShafto What I'm saying is this: When U go around saying you're "the modern day Chris Cornell" (as if the REAL CC dropped off the planet) & then U don't have goods to back it up (sorry, but U just DON'T ...yet) U only look stupid, which is FINE if U do this on one video - anyone can misspeak... but you've PLASTERED that lie across every Chris Cornell video on youtube! & frankly it was obnoxious.

You've got the heart to devlop & that's good - now just be teachable: no one likes braggers.

  • @lastdaysguitar I can agree and accept a response like that. Yes, my choice of words were pretty crappy, It was a spur of the moment "get people to my band page" type of thought. I honestly never brag about myself, your insults obviously prompt the wrong attitude out of me. About my "goods", I recieve some of the most amazing complimens from random people after every show i play. If you ever hear my live, i think you will take back nearly everything you have to say about my abilities.

  • @CamoShafto Perhaps, but Youtube IS the forum you've invited people to hear you sing... If you can't succeed here with certain people, it's truly unlikely you'd impress any more in live performance unless your skills improve dramatically.

Advertising ANYTHING on youtube is irritating, when it's a broadcast blurb on a slew of videos it stops becoming a guy & his band, becomes ADVERTISING.

Don't get too swayed by compliments, that's rock n roll: they're nice, but they won't fill your wallet.

  • @lastdaysguitar I'm well aware of the effects some over advertising can cause, as much as you have tried to make me hate you, I honestly am taking some of it in. I played a show with JD "Black Label Society's" Bass player last night, he was interested in producing some music with the my band and I. So i assure you, I'm on the right track.

  • @CamoShafto I haven't tried to make you hate me. I've tried to teach you something I've learned decades ago, in the way it was taught to me... and it sounds like you are actually picking up on it, and it will stick - good.

Best of luck - you're not there yet, but you do have talent and drive, and apparently some honesty too - that and humble confidence'll get you far.

  • @lastdaysguitar All in all i appreciate it, I can honestly say i NEVER go around bragging or acting as if im the best. "I can always be better" is my main beliefe. Just keep an ear open, I plan to go all the way with my music!

  • You gotta have the chops to do a Zeppelin cover and Cornell did it well!

  • @pots84 lets see robert play this solo

  • Love it ;)

  • check out the Tesla version of this, sublime

  • *-* perfect.

  • This is almost too painful for me to listen to. I've had so much loss in my life, that this cuts to the bone.

  • That was fuckin awesome

  • This shit is awesome. I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, and to hear someone like Chris sing this so well is simply beautiful.

  • @ZenWisest

whos not a zeppelin fan though. gotta love them.

i highly recommend the band called The Parlor Mob. check out the songs bullet, and cant keep no good boy down. Any rock n roll fan will like them. they are amazing all around.

there is still rock n roll tallent out there. just hard to find because of the garbage they put on the radio and MTV

  • thats the thing i dont understand about you fools..... a cover is a cover, if it wasnt then it would be an origional song played by the recording artist. this is an impecible version...... when robert plant sang queen songs you didnt hear 30 milllion queen fans saying that it was shit. dont fucking critisize covers, if your going to do it, be in the bathroom in front of a mirror cuz your the only one who is going to listen.

  • This song brings tears to my eyes....this is a really good cover too.

  • Without a doubt one of the greatest and most overlooked vocalists of this generation. A true artist. And I'm, not even a real Soundgraden or Audioslave fan but this SOB can just flat out deliver a song.

  • Comment removed

  • @joediver1119 Don't think he is overlooked. Hes considered to be in the top 5 vocalist of all time.

  • @bgpjr1989 I dont know if he's in the top five. Not mainstream enough. I'd have to go with 1. Freddie Mercury (and NOBODY is even close), 2. Steve Perry, 3. Robert Plant, 4. Paul Rodgers, and 5. Brad Delp. But Cornell wouldnt be far behind. Personally I dont think he's in the same class as those guys. Almost though.( Honorable mention to Geoff Tate of Queensryche for sheer talent and power.)

  • @joediver1119 On hit paraders top 100 metal vocalist of all time hes #4, check the list out it's voted by other artist etc. only list that really matters, But everyone is entitled to their own opinion ;P

  • @joediver1119 I'm with you Rogers has the best Rockin voice, i think. Freddie #1, but you need Mark Lanegan in there, Awesome!

  • @jczother Who's Mark Lanegan?

  • Brad delp? lol. Not top five but I love long time.

  • Yeah, there will still be you and me ;)

  • Absolutely FABULOUS cover of a great Zeppelin song.

  • 58 people clicked the wrong button

  • @MFBueno63 This is by far the most well educated response I have ever seen on you tube. Thank you. No pun intended.

  • @MYRMIDION but he does one hell of a job regardless. no one can do zeppelin except robert plant, thats a fact. but he does a fantastic cover of this whether he has the range or not. its an acoustic cover buddy. just for fun

  • If I remember correctly, they both had 4 octave or great vocal ranges in their primes. The differences is that Chris is a baritone singer with a lot of room in his upper range, whereas Robert was a tenor. Chris sounds best when he stays within a normal baritone range, because that is where his comfortable range lies.

  • @MYRMIDION Actually, he does have the vocal range of Plant. Listen to slaves and bulldozers and rethink your opinion.

  • @LieKiller g0dd@m right!

  • oh HELL!, he had me at " If the sun refused to shine....."

an excellent version of a timelessly beautiful song.

  • Anyone, ANYONE, that does a Zeppelin cover, and doesn't ruin it is alright with me! I put Chris Cornell in the league of Robert Plant the first time I heard "Slaves and Bulldozers" off the "Badmotorfinger" album.

  • Comment removed

  • good version, but its a close cover and uses the singing style of plant the tone of sorrow in the voice is a derivitive of plant

great covers are diff to the original.

cc has a great voice but he didn't do much with the classic tune imo

  • Tesla's cover is better

  • @phallus0maximus Tesla's covers of most songs are better then a lot of people.

  • Incredibly Beautiful!! It is so nice to see a music icon with so much talent to take a masterpeice song to begin with and keep its original creation, and re-create it into another masterpiece all of his own. ^5 Chris Cornell, once again you open your mouth and a beautiful piece of heaven ignites into your gifted voice from your heart and soul..............peace and God Bless

  • @onepoet63 Well said!!! "Thank you" has been my favourite Zeppelin song since I can remember. Chris' rendition gives me goosebumps. He personifies perfection, in my opinion.

  • @OogahBoogahMonster You are absolutely right! "Thank You" happens to be my favorite Zepplin song s well. When I saw this video, it blew me completely away! Peace and God Bless

  • WOW!!!!

  • Zeppelin, Cornell.......Good Times............Thank You Chris for this.....Masterpiece!!

  • i think i like this even more tha zepellin´s one

  • Chris rules so much soul !!!!!

  • Chris Cornell is so Talented......Any music he does, I love it.

  • you and me....

  • the last minute and 30 sec are f...... amazing, very emotional..thank to you Chris

  • @Figbat has the flagpole from the Union Jack stuck up his ass.

  • This was my wedding processional song...no words to describe...just feeling

  • Excellent! Thank you Chris

  • chris cornell is so cool

  • Been around long enough to appreciate Plant,Ozzy,Dickinson,Halford,Dio,Klaus Meine and many good vocalists,no need to compare..Enough to enjoy this version without any meter as to who does this better...why attempt to adapt yourself to a different era musically, unless of course it's about the money..This is very well done.

  • Cover this song is a Cornelian choice!

  • Thank you chris cornell and led zepplin :)

  • Love this cover, this is what my wife and I danced to at our wedding

  • @Urinetrouble ...my wedding song, too.

  • chloe if the sun refuse to shine

  • Dude Chris Cornell greatest vocals ever. Like Dimebag on guitar. Also greatest ever!

  • 3 chord in the intro kinda pisses me off.. its supposed to be a G, not an E minor

  • @jeropage95 its not suppose to be anything but the artists rendition of what he wants to do. i think its a nice change. he did such a good job with this and all his renditions. he made them new with a drop of cornell

  • @sps60 I was about to reply to this guy until I seen you did and its exactly what I was gonna say. Damn you Chris Im mad you used the wrong chords on this song!! Lol. Jeropage dont get mad at this. This is the best cover of thank you tht you will hear ever. I coudnt tell you whos version I like better, zeps of cornells, that tells you how awesome this cover is. Of the living Chris has the best voice in rock period!

  • I think that the big difference is that cornell Chris always managed to adapt himself to his time, to his period contrary to Robert Plant, Bruce Dickinson, Ozzy Osborne or the others... That's why he's good as well in his solo career as in a Band! His voice is eternal and immortal

  • @nicolaevic B S

  • wonderful! LZ are proud of this, I'm sure.

  • I dont know whats better Led Zeppelin or Chris Cornell singing it

  • love him! and really love led zep ,peace out baby

  • Love this song, love led zep, love chris cornell. WIN

  • Comment removed

  • I think that Chris' voice has suffered over the years but he is without a doubt one of the greatest vocalists that music has ever seen.

he brings me to tears with what he does. I love this cover and Sunshower.

    Thanks for posting...

  • not zeppelin... but then no-one is...loved it...

  • @meritz59 better then zep

  • WOW, leave it to Chris Cornell to do such a good job on this song!!!
