It's interesting, Broken was one of the first albums I ever owned. I purchased it on cassette and loved it. But, my musical tastes wound up going in an entirely different direction. Still, I find myself coming back to this album, and fully appreciating it, not just for the nostalgia that it induces, but for a genuine respect for the musicality of it.
"Don't think you're having all the fun you know me I hate everyone." lol Trent, you've changed over the years, good thing :) keep making records though trent, i want to hear more piano compositions of yours.
@1439of2000 "No it isn't?" That's all you have? Let me explain how this works: you disagree, then you give reasons that support your argument. There are no wrong answers here; this debate would be totally opinion-based. Check that, there is a wrong answer, and that would be the three word nugget you gave as a response.
@ktrh740 he's right, the genre alternative rock can be used from Nirvana to U2, even NIN but it simply isnt alternative rock, if anything NIN is more industrial than anything, when the average person thinks of alternative rock, they think of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, all the grunge bands, You calling NIN alternative rock is like you not knowing the differnce forms of music from u2 to nin to nirvana,
@JackZman533 Now that, my friends, is an acceptable responsive. To call U2 alternative, though, is way off. There is only one U2 album that is alternative-esque, and it is the one with Discotheque, Staring at the Sun, etc., I don't remember the title of it, and I don't feel like googling it so that I can appear smart. I like U2, but yeah, not an alternative band. It's tough to really trace the beginnings of alternative rock. The Fixx's "Saved by Zero," perhaps?
@rootsdown1 Trent Reznor in various aspects and characteristics in his music thematically disects two subjects that are universal in mankind: Pain and Loneliness. Various musicians (most notably Reznor and other artists regardless of whatever artistic medium they work in - use that to their advantage).
