  • inexcusable behavior. the worst part of every sport is the officiating.

  • hand control lolololol

  • Is Tom Hanks shooting the video?

  • i would of fucked him up

  • so what kids most have need it

  • Okay cmon...the kid obviously did something bad...People make it seem like he was trying to hurt the kid, its obvious those werent his intentions.

  • lets see what the kid did before the ref freaked im a wrestler and i know that kid problably punched the other guy in the face

  • sounds like a cave man "u no miss bhave on my mat"

  • I can't believe any of the posters acting like this is a big deal have ever wrestled... i wrestled for 14 years and I've seen way worse. Was it handled ideally by the ref? No... But all of you saying he should be fired and arrested? LMAO

He didn't even choke him and his hand wasn't really around his neck... I'd say it was more on his collarbone. Wrestling is a physical sport this isn't that big of a deal guys come on

  • was this recorded in Georgia? I saw my school wrestling uniform, it looks similar. Just wondering

  • I'm a ref for wrestling and I feel that if the ref can't get control of the match by just separating the wrestlers then he shouldn't be reffing. There is no need to put his hands on the wrestlers throat like he did.

  • given how calm the kid in white was when the ref grabbed him i cant imagine what he did to piss the ref off in the first place xD

  • If anybody knows who this ref is please kick his ass he deserves it. The kid should file a lawsuit.

  • what happened before this to make the ref do this?

  • i remember that ref from high school. he was always a dick about every little thing.

  • where was this kids dad .Chocked my son ,I would have riped his head off .The coach should have stopped the ref . I know I would have and so would have any coach around my area .WOW I hope he was fired as a ref.

  • i think he should be fired

  • i was there lol

  • as a wrestling official this makes me sick.We (officials) are there to enforce the rules of the sport not act like a jack ass.I do not care what the situation was he was out of line and should never be allowed to officiate again.

  • @m1o1n1k1e1y101 Who are you again?

  • o wa he had his hand on his throat pushing him back it doesnt matter maybe he did over react but tbh no one knows the whole story and i dont think anyone actually cares its funny to watch i mean you cant be like omfg that ref needs to be fired etc etc bcuz im pretty sure EVERYONE overreacts sometimes and shit happens but its like get over it i bet the ref said sorry later off and if he didnt idc and i dont think anyone else doesnt..the ref was showing he isnt a bitch which is funny:)

  • what a badass

  • Oh No, it's like when Snookie gets beat up. Are you ok Tim baby?

  • Ref was out of line, no doubt, and he will be punished. But before some people claim the ref was choking him and making it sound like he was terribly hurting the wrestler, look at how easily the hand is brushed off by the kid. Not exactly a death grip.

  • @ridgebottom but his had should not have been there to start with

  • The fact is that the ref is supposed to be the ADULT!! And it looks like Tim is being the adult. And there was nothing that Tim did to provoke that kind of reaction.

  • Good Ref.

  • choking? no i dont think so, too aggressive yes. i have been in that situation before. Yes ref's like that should be in question, but there is a certain level that has to be kept from all out brawls, especially in the sport of wrestling. think, being pit at mortal combat against one another. i feel this is too far for the situation, but what do i know. im a wrestler.

  • I've know Schifter for most of his 30 years. he's an arragont person and his ego is second to none. He had no business putting his hands on the kids throat. Out of bounds push-shovs and spats are common in our sport. I'm not approving of them, just stating that this is a situation that Schifter has dealt with before. This however, is the first time he's responded this way. He let his ego take control. He could have placed his hand on the kids chest or shoulder and no one would have cared.

  • Woodhaven pushed the Tec kid?

Are you sure you were at the match?

I was in the match! I pushed no heads, he was the instigator of it all.

    Any more questions?

  • it didn't look that bad.

  • The ref should be the voice of reason in a situation like this. He should have DQed the wrestler if a serious infraction had occurred. If the ref cannot control himself he should not be in control of others on the mat.

  • If someone put their hand on my child's throat like that I would be eating my cheerios out of their friggin skull. I hate those little Napoleon complex tools that think they can just bully kids and abuse their position of authority. I bet he wouldn't have done that if those were grown men he was reffing. That kids parents should file charges and the MHSAA should keep that guy away from our schools.

  • Absolutly! This has to be reported to the athorities! This man shoul never be allowed to ref or be around children. I dont care what this kid he didn't deserve that at all, but this man crossed all lines and should have to pay for his behavior. Get this on the local TV station!

  • I love that you're all calling for this referees head like he's a child molester or an abusive person. Are you saying if the kid headbutted the referee and broken the referee's nose it, and followed it up with a kick to the nuts that the referee still should be calm? You dont' care what the kids do, right?

  • @bpkmms Why won't you post the whole match? This video is clearly edited to make the ref look as bad as possible. While I'm not condoning what the ref did, there seems to be too much confusion as to what happened previous to this video. Let the world see the whole incident and then decide whether or not the ref was right or wrong.

  • Of course you won't post the video because you only want this part of it to be seen. Get over this.

  • Wow, incredible logic you have. This would have been none of my business had this video not been posted on youtube. But it is. So deal with it.

  • I'm the woodhaven wrestling in the match. We went out of bounds and he pushed my head down towards the mat, i pushed him away with my feet and then he came towards me and thats when the ref came in. I dont think the ref ment to grab his throat just kinda happend

  • I want to know wut this kid did

  • There is no excuse for this egocentric reaction from the ref. They can DQ the wrestler, they can take away team points (if he is part of a team) - so many options that penalize instead of reacting this way. Sad.

  • Can you keep us updated on this situation? I'd like to know the outcome. The refs. have official "rule" books - and I'm pretty sure there are guidelines for contact with the wrestlers or how to handle certain situations.(have family member that is a wrestling ref) He may have completely crossed the line-

Check with your states athletic association for the rules of conduct between refs and wrestlers.

  • So what did your nephew do to get the ref so riled up? The ref said somthing about misbehaving on his mat? Whatever it was, there is no excuse to put your hands on a wrestler. The situation can resloved with calmer heads.

  • You were there. The newspaper says your nephew attacked his opponent out of bounds, after the whistle. Is that true?

  • Maybe there's no excuse for what your nephew did. I've never seen a referee that mad.

  • There is never an excuse for a ref to put his hands on a kids like that no matter what they did. If the kid was so out of control he would have been a punk to the ref too. He was calmer than the ref. He had his hand up and asked him to take his hands off.He was not DQ the team forfeited the match because of it. . I just feel sorry for Tim. He was embarrassed and if the shoe was on the other foot and Tim did this to the ref he would be in a bunch of trouble. Shame on you Eric!!

  • If he was MORE CALM than the ref, perhaps we should see the entire video. I don't think that's too much to ask.

  • I agree. I think you will find that there was nothing there to cause the ref to react like that. The person who took this video is not trying to just show one side. From my understanding, he didn't start shooting till he saw all the commotion. He did not edit it.

  • All I can say i'd wow.
