  • classic

  • nice, it takes me back, as another poster said st. andrews, the mytic, harpos etc. but who can forget Chassis or lipsticks out in the burbs, wow some nights,

  • Legend of the techno song!!!

    Magnificent!!!

  • It's funny what people call techno now. I'm an old head (40+) and hung in the spots when I was young and skinny and didn't hear anything like what is accepted as DETROIT techno in the last 10-15 years. Glad RawGreen is at least going back and figuring it out.

  • One of my favorite tracks. From 1991, and I still playing in 2011. An amazing track. Pure Detroit.

  • thnx for posting this great!!

i think is the most misunderstood of all electronic music forms. lots of people calling all 4/4 beat song techno. i remember lots stupid compilations of "techno" and it was evrything from dance R&b Hi-NRG drumand bass anything u wish but no techno

  • mmmm, sooo detroity. I love it

  • It should not be called Techno It should just be called music, Their should only be two types of music good music and crap, just like food fuck fruits and veggies how about healthy and unhealthy whats with all the distracting categorization.

  • @TheSalty42 Define good.

  • @lambd01d positive uplifting empowering = good

  • @TheSalty42 I hear ya! It's just human nature to categorize. It's what we are best at!!

  • i love detroit techno or simply techno, because unlike the other early genres, it has intelligent beats, beats that are hybrids of electro funk beats or simply electro beats and chicago house beats or simply house beats.

  • @askadetra

Thats because there were no rules. Detroit techno is basically 'whatever sounds good' and they would blend crazy stuff together. Clubs, bars, and raves (thats still a bad word around here...) used to play literally everything. There were several places that each floor was a different music genre and it all used to get mixed together. St. Andrews, Motor, Harpo's, etc. used to play everything and lots of the radio mixes would blend techno/rap/house. 10-2AM 97.9 mixes were great.

    313!

  • @Juggernaut76 i've seen a documentary movie on berlin techno scene and culture. i know techno is from detroit, but djs from other countries and clubs say that what they mix is techno. it's not techno. i don't like to argue about techno since i know its stylistic origins and just listen to techno tracks.

  • This tune was way ahead of it's time. I don't think it sounds out of place now.

  • simple yet somehow immensely powerful

  • Lol at people confusing house, trance, electro, garage, even drum & bass and dubstep as techno.

  • Cannadian guy was faking this i know Detroit #techno this is the sound).

  • never head this. this shit is cataclysmic!

  • the guy on the label is wearing hammer pants. Just saying.

  • As much as I love Techno, this is rather garbage :))))))))))

  • this....yes... love it

  • its nice but i feel like its lacking build up, you know?

  • Finally, some real techno, not Eurodance, not that other stuff claiming to be techno, but some classic techno that is what it was meant to be. Definitely liking!

  • This is the perfect techno tune....

  • Love this.

  • great song, this is true techno. this song will be playable even in 100 years.

  • this actually has a lot in common with europian techno.

    smooth song though! love it

  • @Nejin999 well course it does. It's Techno, they grew out of, and influenced each other either side of the Atlantic.

  • nice first time listening to the foundation of techno

    its so great

  • what electronic music in general has come to? see DJ Bl3ND and Shotek?

they are DUST compared to this, DUST.

  • @markroar fuck dj blend

  • @gfig3 Yes, fuck him and his overrused samples.

  • @markroar over used samples?

  • @tmweb95 He will sample shit that hundreds of Djs have used, many, many times.

His stuff is un-original to the max.

  • @markroar i dont like bl3nd but he mixes ligitly like every other dj....

  • @markroar i dont like blend but he dj's like everyone else...

  • This is good for me as a music producer, I've been trying to produce techno in the past and what everyone's told me what it is supposed to be isn't anything like what this is. By finding the classics it really helps me broad out my listening range compared to the other idiots go around saying "NO NO NO", I absolutely love this and it's my first time listening to Detroit Techno. I now understand the meaning and the reasoning.

Now, off to study more and learn to make better beats!

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator

That's great man - respect for knowing what real Techno is and what its about!

Be sure to check all my other Detroit uploads if you haven't already!

I wish you all the best with your current and future productions.

  • @RealFreshBlog I appreciate your work, Sir! thumbsup. gonna take a while to listen to all of them though.

Anyway, i believe its a pretty good thing for Detroit that it hasn't been hyped as much as other techno genres, keeps the vibe alive.

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator

Detroit Techno was never about rules. Do your own thing and make yourself happy, the others will follow if they like.

  • @mistamuthafuka Exactly.

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator

I totally, totally agree with this! I am currently doing the same but applied to Tech House more specifically - as a producer it really does broaden your perspective to trace the sound right back to the roots to observe how it evolved and to understand the point to various stylistic traits. Good luck on your journey mate!

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator check out sweet nothing by lawnchair generals

  • @RawGreenTheAnimator Good 4 u, maybe u might like some new techno, a tune called Canvas on my soundcloud page.

    Enjoy.

  • I have this on Vinyl!!! Never thought I'd see this on youtoob. Catastrophe is the winner on this one.

  • Do you know that this jewel is REALLY hard to findçç? Mind uploading the rest of the tracks on here or some sort of download link? I just can't stop listening to it. : ) @Jazzchisel

  • thanks for giving us techno fans a listen of this early stuff!

  • TOP TOP TOP

  • Lovely Track!!! Sounds ALOT like OLD SCHOOL CHicago HOUSE....Its amazing the similarities between Chicago House and Detroit Techno, as well as Footworkin and Jittin!!! Aweswome...........

  • not my cup of mushroom tea...but this sort of stuff started it all for electroniccccaahh. Its like listening to rock today and hating chuck barry, just dont make sense

  • Vielen dank aus Deutschland !!! Danke !!!

  • FUKING TROLLSSSSS!!!

  • Great !

  • Idea definively stolen of ron trents altered states 12". Hear at the snares and the basline!! Even the string melody is similar to ron trents anthem.

    I just say: weak!!!

  • @ArtJorgeCom I don't think it sounds anything like Ron Trent? Most Detroit techno tracks in that era have a snare, bassline and strings.

  • Still sounding phatt

  • I have this; oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah

  • streets of rage

  • i wish it had some high pitch ear raping sounds but still nice

  • WOW! awesome 1990's chicago techno house, love the sound very much, lets have a party, bring on the streetdance crews and breakdancers

  • 11 people need to fuck off

  • @cameronbailey

those 11 are probably from Chicago

  • @Deetroiter hahaha us people from Chicago aren't THAT jealous.

  • @xxjash100xx

Chicago...Detroit...it's all love! I was just playin man :)

  • @Deetroiter ik me too dude!

  • nice track!!!

  • I see 11 "Thumbs down"–why do people come to these sites and hate!? It's not like this is commercial crud... extra 11 thumbs up to counter the haters!

  • @MrLuRICo look at how many hits this has

  • @MrLuRICo Expressing an opinion isn't "hating" that's what the thumbs, both up AND down are for. Learn to tolerate differences of opinion without seeing them as a threat or personal insult.

  • @danteism Your comment is a divine comedy. 15 Thumbs down!

  • @MrLuRICo ahahahahahahahahahahahaha that was funny XD

  • @MrLuRICo Why do people care so much about thumbs? Other people are not allowed to dislike something smply b/c you like it? Do you not dislike certain things that are enjoyed by others? Hypocrite.

  • @heysatan8 I think he's saying, why would they go and purposely watch something they dislike? I dunno. But you seem to like yelling at people on the internet. O ,o

  • @FighterPilot72 How can someone know they dislike something without watching/listening to it first?

Also, I am not yelling. I made one post, did not use the exclamation point a single time, and never used all caps, and that proves I "like yelling at people on the internet?" Interesting...

  • @heysatan8 I'm sorry, you're right, you're just using a... Harsh tone in your words. Sorry man.

  • @heysatan8 Jealousy at my 15 thumbs up! Praise Jesus the God of Israel!

  • @MrLuRICo There's not much I can say to that. All I can do is let out a long, drawn-out *siiiiiigh*.....

  • @MrLuRICo

Thumb down doesnt mean hating. I come here to listen music and CHOOSE whethet i like it or not. Its just the pure opinion man. How could i know if im going to like it before listening? bit of logic pls

  • @MrLuRICo They searched for old techno music, they listened, they didn't like it, they voiced their opinion by clicking the dislike button.

  • ANGOLA!

  • whats with black people inventing all the good music genres!

    seriously though, thanks black guys.

  • Woooah. It was about time I give an attentive hear to what's called Detroit techno.

It's true that a lot of dubstep producers are influenced by this sound.

Just like I thought dubstep was ''inventing'' something....it has been done some 20 years before, as always. (Portishead and Silver Apple kinda thing)

  • @alfaripopo if only dubstep was as cool as detroit techno.

  • Way before my time, but I love it. Thank you!

  • Fantastic!!! Love it!

  • This got me into detroit techno... no boring bang bang... just awesome, complex, incredible music I could listen to all day...

  • @Hooverdan - hello mr. right! I just went through my account messages and found this! As you can see your instant reaction took 10 months to finally get my attention. You must be a very frustrated person... you never spell anything wrong, right? And, oh i forgot, you're absolutely "in the know"... haha... Have a good day! (You might need another target group to drop your frustation - people here share a passion for music, understanding and tolerance)

  • @ANGELO13111 Why do you guys rate his comment down?

  • @themanogni because there assholes and they like cock
