nice, it takes me back, as another poster said st. andrews, the mytic, harpos etc. but who can forget Chassis or lipsticks out in the burbs, wow some nights,
It's funny what people call techno now. I'm an old head (40+) and hung in the spots when I was young and skinny and didn't hear anything like what is accepted as DETROIT techno in the last 10-15 years. Glad RawGreen is at least going back and figuring it out.
i think is the most misunderstood of all electronic music forms. lots of people calling all 4/4 beat song techno. i remember lots stupid compilations of "techno" and it was evrything from dance R&b Hi-NRG drumand bass anything u wish but no techno
It should not be called Techno It should just be called music, Their should only be two types of music good music and crap, just like food fuck fruits and veggies how about healthy and unhealthy whats with all the distracting categorization.
i love detroit techno or simply techno, because unlike the other early genres, it has intelligent beats, beats that are hybrids of electro funk beats or simply electro beats and chicago house beats or simply house beats.
Thats because there were no rules. Detroit techno is basically 'whatever sounds good' and they would blend crazy stuff together. Clubs, bars, and raves (thats still a bad word around here...) used to play literally everything. There were several places that each floor was a different music genre and it all used to get mixed together. St. Andrews, Motor, Harpo's, etc. used to play everything and lots of the radio mixes would blend techno/rap/house. 10-2AM 97.9 mixes were great.
@Juggernaut76 i've seen a documentary movie on berlin techno scene and culture. i know techno is from detroit, but djs from other countries and clubs say that what they mix is techno. it's not techno. i don't like to argue about techno since i know its stylistic origins and just listen to techno tracks.
Finally, some real techno, not Eurodance, not that other stuff claiming to be techno, but some classic techno that is what it was meant to be. Definitely liking!
This is good for me as a music producer, I've been trying to produce techno in the past and what everyone's told me what it is supposed to be isn't anything like what this is. By finding the classics it really helps me broad out my listening range compared to the other idiots go around saying "NO NO NO", I absolutely love this and it's my first time listening to Detroit Techno. I now understand the meaning and the reasoning.
Now, off to study more and learn to make better beats!
I totally, totally agree with this! I am currently doing the same but applied to Tech House more specifically - as a producer it really does broaden your perspective to trace the sound right back to the roots to observe how it evolved and to understand the point to various stylistic traits. Good luck on your journey mate!
Do you know that this jewel is REALLY hard to findçç? Mind uploading the rest of the tracks on here or some sort of download link? I just can't stop listening to it. : ) @Jazzchisel

I see 11 "Thumbs down"–why do people come to these sites and hate!? It's not like this is commercial crud... extra 11 thumbs up to counter the haters!
@MrLuRICo Expressing an opinion isn't "hating" that's what the thumbs, both up AND down are for. Learn to tolerate differences of opinion without seeing them as a threat or personal insult.
@MrLuRICo Why do people care so much about thumbs? Other people are not allowed to dislike something smply b/c you like it? Do you not dislike certain things that are enjoyed by others? Hypocrite.
@heysatan8 I think he's saying, why would they go and purposely watch something they dislike? I dunno. But you seem to like yelling at people on the internet. O ,o
@FighterPilot72 How can someone know they dislike something without watching/listening to it first?
Also, I am not yelling. I made one post, did not use the exclamation point a single time, and never used all caps, and that proves I "like yelling at people on the internet?" Interesting...
Thumb down doesnt mean hating. I come here to listen music and CHOOSE whethet i like it or not. Its just the pure opinion man. How could i know if im going to like it before listening? bit of logic pls
