  • i have so much respect for you, geriatric. please never stop with your videos! :D

  • Marijuana is GOD.

  • i want that hottie on the screen to shart on my toes and suck it off without his dentures and slobber on my toes and drool and my soles

  • To be honest I would claim that drugs (especially psychedelic drugs), have changed my life for the better. They have allowed me to investigate my own mind with love and clarity. Many indigenous societies have used psychedelic compounds in their brews specifically for this purpose.

Of course not all drugs accomplish this and can a cause harm, but we forget that alcohol is one of the most damaging drugs in society. it's all about acquiring an unbiased education on drugs and how they work.

  • Old Guy + British Accent = Best lecturer.

  • I wish my grandpa was this legit.

  • But most of the things you hear about this drug is completely false and is not true. I suggest reading the book "Marijuana is safer than alcohol; so why do we push people to drink?" for further information on this issue.

You truely understand the purpose of marijuana if you only need little doses to get high - I now smoke the drug only once a month, and that would be frequent to me. The marijuana must be a high, not the high.

Hopefully people will be informed and smoke weed wisely.

  • Abusing marijuana is abusing its potential. You must not overestimate the power of this drug, because like anything else, it won't bring you an infinite happiness; there are negative effects with long-term use and believe me, I know that - I stopped cold turkey and had a primitive obsession with unimportant details and it put me into a minor depression. Fortunately, I stopped using it just in time and it didn't take so long to go away.

  • Unfortunately, not everybody has something to look forward to, to bring you out of your addiction, so many of adolescents and young adults keep stucked inside that bubble. Marijuana is a value changing drug, it changes your way to see things, but once the changes are made, you have to learn when to reduce your dose; otherwise, you might as well develop an addiction.

  • I am 17 years old, and have smoked marijuana from 3 to 5 times a day for at least 2 months and a half. I didn't understand the real purpose of this drug. The only reason why marijuana is prohibited is because the autority knows it can open the people's minds, but prohibition prevent people to be informed of the truth about this wonderful drug, so the only way to understand its negative effects is to live them and experience them.

  • The endings to your videos are always so sweet. :) Thank you

  • i love drugs

  • You're a great man

  • I don't want to do different drugs, to mess myself up. I want to drink or smoke cannabis, for some casual fun. I do not want to try the hardcore drugs. I do not want to fail at life. I do not agree with the people who fail school, or miss school, to do drugs all the time, or partying every weekend and getting drunk. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of, why the Hell would you want to ruin your life for that? This man is 80 or so, if he had done regular drugs, he would not be here.

  • Not all drugs are physically addictive and you should be educated about them all individually. Its a bit like abstinence vs. safe sex.

  • I've spent hundreds, and thousands of hours using weed and alcohol, with very rare experimentation with harder drugs. I am twenty years old, and while most of my friends continue to use these substances daily, I have limited my usage to very infrequent occasions. (Once every couple of months, if that) For the sheer sake of clarity acheived through sobriety. I discovered this with no outside influences or persuasion. My parents, friends, and family all use some sort of drugs on a daily basis.

  • drugs ... the only use for them is if you wanna suicide , these are for weak people that can't take life seriously as they act like victim.

  • @darksonicma you're mom.

  • @flippy102 people like you wich doesn't have a single argument.

  • @darksonicma How about this thn.. I was a cutter who wanted to kill himself and was in care for 10 months.. Started using drugs recreationally and taking trips and now I work mondays - fridays n im lovin it!! So yeh, thiey are good, when used CORRECTLY

  • you have an easy button :D

  • Hey everyone hating him, shut the hell up, he's old, her knows what the hell he's talking about.

  • First comes the temptation, then the hook. Then the addiction slowly takes over. But are people really aware of it?

  • @1aundulxaldin yep.

  • Only reason people would refuse to drink, smoke or 'do drugs' is cause they've never tried before and are too scared to do it.

  • @unkownsmiley so you are suggesting that they DO NOT know that these things are dangerous? so what if i tasted it before and i didn't like it and I refused when someone asked me to do it? does that mean I am too scared to do it?

  • @ManEater217 yep.

  • @unkownsmiley

    you're an idiot.

  • @Karismon01

    That's the soberness talking.

  • I have just gone to secondary school and alot of people are starting to experiment with drugs. I found your video and it really helped...Thank you =)

  • Iv'e never taken any kind of drugs not and will never, ever do so. My opinion on drugs is just a false escape and a total facade, Iv'e taken the choice to avoid them and never, ever take them the majority of my friends do but I will never do so. I cherish your opinion Geriatric.

  • Using psychedelic drugs can be a life changing experience.... if you know how...sorry geriatric but I would take terence mackenna's thoughts on this one! respect your opinion but it is not as simple as what my parents think cause this my life and my body and there are ways to use drugs in a safely . I do believe though that it should be after the age of 18.

    peace and light!

  • The majority of drug users are not addicts.

  • @R0undAboutMidnight so you know the majority of drug users then?

  • i really love your videos :)

  • i love how he says categry

  • I do drugs i do coffee i did some beer and some wine Some drugs are of minor impact and we use them daily. The hefty ones makes users hooked and seem them unable to relinquish. Why we do - we want to improve, change perception - either to remove the sharp edges or add some. Plants and weeds are so old as human existance - always used in various ways, abused in various ways. In Relegious rites or used outside that frame.
  • @ objective33

You have no heart to say that.....think about it...you want to kill someone because a video! peter is a great man, very wise, and awesome. Dont like the video? Stop watching it.

  • @objective33 Show some respect you prat! People like you deserve to be shot out of a cannon into a sumo's stomache!

  • I have the odd drink or fag at times, but I can say i'm no way addicted and I wont ruin my life buy smoking up to 40 fags a day and have god knows how many pints.

I'm only 15 and i've still got exams, job applications, and possibly a wedding coming up so i'm going to go well easy on smoking and drinking.

    Good video as always geriatric1927

  • Serous so many people smoke at my school it might as well be legal people carry it around in their pockets and sell it at lunch. I might try it once just for the experience and so peer pressure won't bother me becuase I can just say ie already tried it and I won't be lying...

  • I really enjoy watching your videos!

You're my hero sir, I'm glad to see you're doing this.

    Stay strong, believe in yourself.

  • Bud is an absolute good.

    It makes music sound better.

    It makes TV Funnier

    It makes Food Taste better

And my god it even makes sex feel better!!

Take that DEA, you sons of bitches!!

  • @Fatal132 I have smoked weed for a long time, and I can tell those new to it that it is not all sunshine and rainbows.

If you do experience negative consequences of any kind, don't ignore them; that's all I'm saying.

  • It's good the way he carefully puts the question back so that people need to think for themselves - we are all responsible for our own actions - after a certain age. "Society: is involved but that is larger question. he is like a kind and wise old grandpa -and I am 60 myself!

I steered clear of illegal drugs in my life. From my experience people are largely better off for not using drugs or alcohol at all. BUT if I lecture I will not do any good! Good lesson from geriatric!

  • I dont do drugs.

Can i have some money grandad.

  • ahhhhhhh chill da fuck out maaaaaan. lite ya spliff maaaaaaaan.

    Realize so we can legalize

  • weed isnt a drug smoke it, i do=)

  • Drink and Smoke all you want.

  • i dont think its anyones biz if they do drugs or not or drink or not to prosecute someone for harming them self is retarded. and im taliking on an individual bases not this bullshit about users funding terrorist and shit.

  • legalise all drugs it would solve the credit crunch

  • Actually They Do. Their Just Not As Bad As The Propaganda says. they can damage you. but not as much as theyd like you to think.

  • . .

  • Even if it's just weed, smoking everyday will stagnate you and you will be less productive in life, but you will be happy..but if you try to quit you'll get depressed.

Everything you do, be careful about doing it too much, addictions are dangerous, because they mean you will lose selfcontrol.

  • Very true.

  • Good advice. Coolest guy ever!

  • "out of your mind" lol

  • i dont see why people insult this guy he is amazing youtube was not designed for utter jokers to go on and insult people who actualy have a degree of intelgance and want to help people does it matter waht age someone is no what matters is how much they contibute and i bet this guy has done much more for people than most of us coudl dream to so show him and everyone who post's serious vidoes respect dont like them dont watch them not rocket science. Great video geriatric1927 =)

  • punctiation marks are sad for not being used :(

  • ha, best angry grammarian comment ever

  • I have to disagree with you politely, Geriatric 1927.

One lower class drug, namely marijuana, has actually been shown in recent studys to not lead to more dangerous drugs. Also, they have been shown not to cause any perminant damage to your brain, as well as having no connection to cancer.

Prohibition on the other hand, locks people up simply because of what they choose to put in their bodys and destroys almost a million lives yearly. It is a war on the people, and has not detered anyone.

  • Folks, don't insult this bloke - he's had 80 years of experience on this planet, have a little respect for him!

  • @DavidTL Go and make a cup of tea.

  • I'm an 18 year old student who is often subjected to a drug taking environment. Most of my friends take or have tried some serious drugs, mostly at parties... I to this day have never given in to the pressure I'm sometimes under (even when under the influence of alcohol). I have no desire to do so, even when I am at a party and EVERYONE else is taking some kind of drug. It's really a question of your will-power and determination to be in control. I think most of my friends respect me for it.

  • Let's not forget alcohol is a drug as well.

  • Alcohol is a drug - that kills 75000 people a year.

Marijuana has never killed 1 person in recorded history.

  • It's no wonder so many users here respect you

  • its really a matter of how young they are i have had people torn up on that stuff my whole life around me so i just looked at them and saw how messed up it makes you

  • you guys are mean

have some respect for your elders

this guy is a genius & knows what he's talking about

  • The best advice I can give is: Stay away from the powder family and you SHOULD be fine.

  • this guys gr8 !

bt y is ther a highpitched noise ?

  • this guy is cool...

  • its funny reading drug users rants here.. go on gramps! i love your videos.

  • Then why do you watch them?

  • When considering who should have the final say: keep in mind that heavy alcohol, drug use, regardless of age, is often the symptom of something much worse.

This presents a few problems. If we say that heavy use of mind altering substances is normally found during periods of great emotional stress, then you cannot always be sure that parents or kids will be capable of making accurate judgments concerning the safety of themselves or their progeny. Checks and balances break down here.

  • i dont do drugs anymore, thanks mate!

  • @whitepride89 omg you do drugs?how much one bag? xD lol u shouldn't have done that

  • This thing is so great!

  • PLEASE READ ALL THE KrisWales3 COMMENTS FROM THE BOTTOM UP, TO GET THEM IN SENSIBLE ORDER.

  • Well whew! lol Kris. One question however. Where are all those 'flashbacks' they promised me. I feel I was misled. Drugs hmm. If the Grateful Dead were still following me I'd say your choice, but you could do worse. Now? Nah.. just grow your hair cut your job, and just get outside. Spend as much time as you can in a tent somewhere where the climate suits yer clothes. Peas and Love to you hippies, squares, narcs, and see ya!!!

  • I thnik its hypocritical to drink beer and condemn cannabis, I don't think drugs should be banned. They should be legal and regulated (like alcohol), but people should know the damage they are doing to themselves (and sometimes to others) when they take drugs, and that goes for alcohol and nicotine cand caffine too. Even chocolate will kill you if you have too much, and it's addictive too.

  • SO to sum up, all drugs have negative effects, theres no argument there, most cause some sort of mental problem, and chemical drugs, rot flesh away, there is no completely safe way to take powders. But the same can be said for 'legal drugs'. I think natural drugs, canabis & musgrooms are less (but still) harmfull, to the body, but the whole mushroom/hallucination thing, dose mean you can lose controll.

  • thus giving you manic drperession for the rest of your life. Speed ruins your teeth nose etc as dose cocaine, wich is far to expensive for the result, its ok but not worth what is cost.

  • What advice would I give anyone based on my experience.... well, Cannabis is no worse than smoking ciggaretts and drinking alcohol, I think being 'stoned' is far prefferable to being drunk. Alcohol makes you loud and obnoxious and (some poeple) Violent, Cannabis makes you feel euphoric, and lazy, and ofter prolonged use, depressed. But alcohol addiction is far worse. prolonged use of ecstacy will use up all you natural supply of seretonin,

  • LOL, 10 packs, more like 7 single cigs or so.

  • In the early 20th century (1920's I think but I may be wrong)The british government decided to make make cannabis illegal and to put a tax on alcohol. But they could have just as easily have gone the other direction if you see what I mean, thus making beer socailly unaceptable, and alcole drinkers would be the 'druggies' of society.

  • At the end of the day we have legal drugs (alcohol, nicotine, caffine etc) and illegal drugs, cannabis, ecstasy, speed, cocain etc

All are addictive, and all have various side effects. People may say that cannabis is not addictive, but I want to give it up, but I find it very hard to give up.

  • I've tried quite a few drugs, however most were dissapointing or un-impressive. You are not necessarily out of controll of your own actions. Most drugs are un-inhibiters (if thats the correct word) so you may behave a little differently, but it takes a very strong dose of something for you to be completely out of your own controll.

  • Your'e right about it being the individuals choice. But there isn't a great deal a parent can do other than to give acurate information. If a teenager is rebellious enough to try drugs, then a parent telling him/her not to will have no effect. And if a kid isn't that rebellious. They don't need telling.

  • i think soft drugs should be legal, like in the netherlands

  • i appreciated your response and thoughtful dialog concerning teenagers and drugs. it is helpful to have someone's example such as yourself to learn from when adressing such questions. i know i will keep in mind some of the points you presented when i am called on for advice about drug use. thank you ... your contributions via video are an appreciated and valued resource.

  • wow..so well said.

  • well that's because you're a pothead

  • If so, what is the matter with that? You have stated no argument whatsoever.

  • my sister studies adiktology, wich cares about drugs and addictions and I may say only what I know from her. I dont know a lot about "harder" drugs, but cannabis, or marihuana may start or get worse some mind problems (i dont know if its right word, i mean schizophreny and so on...), astma, problem s with heart and so on. i dont know a lot about this, you should ask some specialist.

  • There is a reason for this, you know?

  • you have to be the COOLEST grandad ever!!

  • You are a cool guy and you talk about relevant terms.

There are to many teens taking drugs.

I am a teen and I will never touch drugs that are illegal

  • Charming man.

  • you are like the over watching wise man of youtube lol

  • Those who use drugs whould be better of dead.. Only losers take that crap n their life is crap. Burn in hell

  • You should be a bit more understanding and think of the situation that they had to be in to go the level of taking drugs.

  • We really do need to listen to the wisdom of our elders although Geriatric1927 has not directly dispensed any, but certainly his questions are important ones. I am the only one in my circle of friends who did not experiment and am the only one who life has not been derailed. I am in my 30s. I am very thankful.

  • hahaha

  • You have probably had a bad day in some way. Whatever it was, I hope you get better, think about what you said, and have a very Merry Christmas!

  • so i take it your saying this comment to the man because you take drugs and are offended. understandable but completely foolish.

  • he makes good sense to me..

  • show some fucking respect for your elders you fucking cunt.

  • I'm 22, you tool.

  • Pwn't.

  • his silence says enuff yes.

  • husenpatel you are obviously very misleaded. I'm very sorry you're going that direction in life.

  • People can 'make their owns decisions' IF THEY ARE GIVEN THE FACTS.

Most parents try to give orders instead of finding out the facts and passing them on their children.

  • wow thats a really open minded old man, wich makes him not to conclusive but i agree with him XD ill suscribe

  • ATTENTION EVERYONE he has an easy button in the bakground!!!!! watch all of his movies

  • it's ACTUALLY spelled "their"

  • No I wont take drugs

My friends fill the same :)

  • PS: I like your videos, I'm gonna subscribe.

I agree with a previous post; good video about teens & drugs without being imposing or patronizing. I personally feel that drugs & addiction are poorly understood. My husband (former addict) is involved in harm-reduction & drug counseling & there's so many things that we could be doing that would make sense & be effective as far as policy goes, but lawmakers seem too ignorant to ever consider something that would work. It's frustrating & sad.

  • I think people should have a choice as to what they put in their body. The problem is the law which criminalizes people for having a health problem. Drug use should be dealt with by offering help, not locking people up. When drugs were made illegal it created dealers, gangs & a black market (think Capone, prohibition). There are just as many people doing drugs now as there were when drugs were legal, only now we waste billions on an ineffective, racist, & damaging, drug war.

  • WOW! " When drugs were made illegal "

If you can remember back to the days of Sherlock Holmes you are really geratric.

Try naming the year " When drugs were made illegal "

  • I don't drink any alcohol, and i don't use drogs;) I'm too healthy XD Nice video, good topic.

  • and u worship the devil

  • lol

  • his name is 666 and hes acting like hes a saint, wtf is the world coming to

  • yeah lol sumhow dont seem rite huh?

  • lol yea

  • I can hear every word. good advice.

  • Have some respect about the volume thing. Just turn it up.

    Proper question ánd answer.

  • Thats really good advice, sort of showing the right way without imposing or patronising. good video.

  • Just as charlie harper would say: I understand

  • I cant hear a word, sorry Geriatric.

  • I agree completely.

And one warning:DON'T open another video after this one before lowering the volume :)

  • Why are so many less destructive drugs than alcohol illegal, even class a? Yet alcohol is even advertised on TV.

Words of wisdom as always Gerry.

  • turn it up then.

    lol

  • your vids are very interesting :) by the way your winnie the pooh thing in the background is cool!
