  • i remember my mom making these flower hwajeon when i lived in Korea!!

  • I love your cool T-shirts Maangchi!

  • i cant find sweet rice flour, only rice flour - can i use glutenous rice flour?

  • Those look so beautiful and delicious!

anyway, i wanna try this recipe but i don't know where i could get the flowers. sigh

  • hi, anyone knows where to buy edible flowers in malaysia? i went to lotte mart ou, but i don't think they sell edible flowers...

  • Your recipes all look beautiful. Koreans must believe the saying that we eat with our eyes first. I hope to try making these soon. They look to be one of the more simple recipes you've posted. I will also try some of the savoury dishes later as well, although I know I will have to adjust the heat level for myself and my family. We have only a small tolerance for very spicy dishes. However, I have successfully adjusted a LOT of Vietnamese dishes to our taste, so...YUM!

  • @3:40 sounds like the flower screamed @_@

  • Sweetie, Like ur blog so much.where did you find those pretty flowers. I'm looking for severial kroean recipes. I went to H-mart for kroean rice cakes. I didn't find here. One is very small with pinenuts. the Other one is empty in side and very crispy outside with rice cracker crumbs. they are so good and expensive. Do you know how to make it ?

  • @Bessie163 I bought the edible flowers at Farmer's market in New York. Check the recipe on my website. Photos, recipe, tips, ingredients are posted there.

I don't know what the food you mention is. You can leave your question on the forum under general discussion. Someone else may give you the answer.

Thank you very much for your interest in my recipes!

  • You can recommend this dessert for lovers in Valentines Day Feb 14.

  • @udon890 good idea. I should include it "Maangchi's pick" section. Thank you for your suggestion.

  • The flour will be hot because you add hot water, will the hot flour burn your fingers???

  • @udon890 that's why I knead the dough with the rice scoop first until it's not that hot.

  • Just watching your videos makes me hungry!

  • Vivaldi!!!!!

  • Wow...I have never seen such a beautiful dish with flowers like that ! Simple and nice !

  • check the written recipe on my website. : )

  • Maangchi! How long are you suppose to cook it?

  • Would you check the written recipe on my website? I think you cook each piece of hwajeon for 3-4 minutes over low heat.

  • Yea I did. You never said how long to cook it for. Just put it on low heat and flip until done.

    But thank you.

  • oh,thank you for letting me know about it.

  • this looks so beautiful and sweet! with the rose tea, it must be spectacular! you are a very kind woman for sharing with us.

I wish you could come to my hwajeon party, too! lol

  • Maangchi, I would like to ask, can i use sweet potato flour instead of sweet rice flour?

  • I have never used sweet potato flour for hwajeon, but I'd like to encourage you to experiment on your own hwajeon and let us know the results!

  • hey cant we just not put the flowers?

  • of course it will still be delicious without flowers, but the name of dish can't be hwajeon. Hwa means flowers

If you make this without flowers, cook it until it's golden brown and dip it in honey when you eat it. what would you call it? It's chapssal bookoomie in Korean. : )

  • thankyou seriously i had no ideas to dip it with honey! thanks!

and about the sweet rice flour can you get these in chinese shops?
