I could always pull out the "Looks are decieving" or something like that, but I don't feel like it. The first form is pretty easy, actually. If you can get the rhythm, the coccoon in both stages is easily survived. You have to be aware that the difficulty really spikes from the first to second stages. Also, a video really is no substitute for actually fighting him... or any boss for that matter. Try him and tell me what you think ^.^
Great to hear it! Been kinda missin' you lately. You released the Living Metals (which were all AMAZING, by the way), then just kinda fell off the grid. The compendium's moved twice since you've been gone haha. I have a link to the newest wiki in the description, and through there you can find our current forum (part of a bigger forum) as well as some old and new faces. Glad to see you're coming back!
class i'll join up, I fell off the grid as I just got a new job that needed a sizable amount of attention, then I 'aquired' a PSP and a whole new world of developments came up with a little tweaking, but I've got something in the works half finished from when I left off and with the new updates and that energy egg weapon I can finish it off quite nicely
Sounds awesome and I can't wait ^.^ the new wiki also have a page explaining extra parameters, which is how I got Aiur's energy eggs to curve and such. I can't wait for your new boss!
I'd like to throw in my two cents about this boss. the eggs. either you set them so that they couldn't be killed, or you set them so that they can take alot of punishment. Landing one shot on curving bullets isn't easy, should reward player. Also it would be cool if ducking into that small gap that forms when this boss closes its wings was a viable strategy. when the player ducks in, stop firing and start moving the boss around while giving the player an open shot at the core.
Very good points. First, the eggs. I set them to have a ton of durability. I wanted that stage to just be dodging. And that little gap? There by coincidence. I didnt plan on having that gap there haha. Your idea sounds cool, but the way I have all the events set up it would be very difficult to do. Besides, you wouldn't be able to shoot the core because the arms would have to open back up, which would kill you.
On one of eboshidoris bosses, hes got a nasty pattern with 5 lasers at the front, but theres a little trick that if you have the guts you can rush in between the main core and the lasers and fire at will till the pattern ends. Someone would call it an oversight, but it's still hard as hell, and awesome. I think bosses are better off with such tricks.
I don't play much gradius, but that does sound cool. And, of course, I love all of Eboshidori's bosses. And though little tricks like that can make some bosses fun, I usually don't include those in mine. Doesn't usually seem to work when I test them. Just didn't think of it. And I only update my bosses if they're broken or unbeatable, so I think I'll keep Aiur as is, though. I'll keep your points in mind for the next PAI or bosses after the series is finished.
ooh, that haha. I noticed that. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. You never know haha. Well, I hope you at least enjoyed the boss regardless of what you thought could have been added or not. I'll take all your points into consideration for my later bosses!
i LUV the idea of cocoon turning to wings and then back again <3 anywhayz, nice boss. imma DL it. maybe i would make a similar boss to that... if i wasn't this goddamn lazy to do it :(
haha yeah, I loved the idea too... which I guess is obvious because I made a boss around the concept... Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I hope you enjoy fighting it. And I'd like to see your take on the idea if you ever get around to making a boss around it ^.^
Thanks! I really think Aiur is the best PAI so far as far as the visual design. My favorite touch is the tail I added basically last minute that kinda drags you hehe. Thanks again! And I'm glad you enjoyed it!
haha Glad you like it! I actually feel like the dodging with this guy is more "twitch" and mindless, but it does take plenty of patience, seeing as how long the fight can be!
Seriously, I have been waiting for this way too long. Fortunately, it was worth of it - excellent work! Also, I think this gave me an inspiration for my next drone...
Wow! Coming from you especially means a lot. I love all you're bosses and to hear that you not only like mine, but wait for them like that is awesome. Can't wait to see the drone it inspired ^.^

I love the angel look on this boss and how it closes it's wings to protect itself.
And at 10:40, lol, vulcan angel.

Thanks! I worked hard on making this boss look visually pleasing, though I can't say I intended it to look so awesome when it explodes! haha

you could shadow the arms.

Oh another example would be the latest gradius armored core.
an insane move of going behind the armor to hit the core.

if you rush at his boss you arn't vulnerable to fire until it closes the walls on you.
