  • Anyone get the reference of the band's name? From HG Well's novel The Time Machine -- in the distant post-apocalyptic future, the human race splits into two sub-races: the dreamy, naive, live-in-the-moment hippy Eloi living on the surface, and the dark predatory troglodyte capitalist-pig Morlocks, living in their machine-filled caverns underground & coming up after dark to cannibalize the helpless surface-dwellers -- check the 60's movie with Roddy McDowell & Yvette Mimieux

  • grauenhaft

  • @Reptile61

  • mind-blowing. beautiful. the drummer has no sticks. a love-in in a scrap yard. perfect.

  • real nusic..

  • (Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of fh12380 at twitter)

  • remind me of Joy Division.

  • @androids90 nah, it sounds more like Black Sabbth :)

  • @Indrius yeah? im not too familiar with Black Sabbth. im searching for their songs now :)

  • @androids90 sorry dude, I misspelled the name. It's Black Sabbath :) Try listening to songs "Behind the Wall of Sleep" and "Paranoid" and you'll see the obvious similarities. Those songs were released in 1970-1971 too.

  • @Indrius But they are from the same year.Paranoid's intro to me its a ripp off from the riff from the midle of "dazed and confused " by zeppelin...check it out

  • @beroth77 prob true, but everyone credits zeppelin for inspiration. not only were they first "metal" band, but LIVE, I think they were also first "space rock" band. They still send me on a head-trip.

  • That is not Walk Alone; but hell it is a good video! :)

  • Well... here's the description of kraut rock. Kraut rock was the Prog rock-wave wich took place in the end of the 60s and in the 70s in germany. But, the Kraut rock is often described as more demanding than the English Progressive rock wave. Examples could be: Faust, Can, Neu etc.

Eloy was a part of the german prog(kraut) wave, but played music more inspired by pink floyd and others band from England at the time. Eloy is therefore only a german prog band :)

  • It is peoggressive German rock.

  • hahhaha...this video!! lol

  • Its more Artrock then Krautrock, but it has heavy krautrock influences.

    well, german made, good made.

  • Wenn ich die Sachen höre würde ich sogar sagen, dass Iron Maiden sich von solchen Bands inspiriert haben muss. Schöner alter Rock!!

  • This is not the Krautrock but Heavy Rock Progressif

  • Better than rap crap

  • This video is like banana splits meets a monkees..This is a cool time capsule from that area..I was in first grade still watching underdog and Mr pee body cartoons.lol

  • these guys make music with passion and not like today for money!

  • Is wunderbar . . . . . . some Duul overtones there, but an intriguing enough 4 minutes. Some one give the drummer some sticks, eh?

  • mainstreamprog, loved by the young today and hated by the young in that times for their copycat commercial sellout.

It's 1970,the same year sabbath recorded their first album... so i don't if there's really an influence... don't now really.

  • @beroth77 Sabbath recorded their first lp in 1969. It was released in 1970.

  • New album VISIONARY on November 20th, 2009.

  • I am looking for the first eloy album on vinyl!! You know the one with the trascan. If anybody is considering an offer, just drop me a note!

  • In this period they were a bit similar to Birthcontrol or Uriah Heep, still unique.

  • Thanks for sharing. Great tune, takes me to good old days, check out my first car at 0:20 the blue one, but mine was white.

  • learn to play then imitate the scorps

  • The best progressive rock band from Germany ever

  • Brilliant krautrock classic, very rocky stuff!

  • ELOY!!!!!!

  • Reminds me of 'Man'. How pissed of Hitler would have been with Krautrock. Happy thought...

  • this song is not so krautrock it's typical psychedelic/hard rock song.

  • ya im pretty sure early eloy was krautrock. expeccially if its on WDR

  • eloy is krautrock for sure.

  • eloy is not krautrock -.-

  • Are you really sure? Maybe ELOY is krautrock with spiritual feelings?

I have four more videos from the ELOY 1994 Munich concert. Enjoy it!

  • Krautrock (literally "Kraut rock") – the variety of the experimental progressive rock came into existence in the second-half of sixties of the 20th century in Germany. Amongst her distinctive features they are being exchanged (apart from the place of the coming into existence) inspiration with avant-garde and psychodelic music, innovative in that period using electronic techniques, mechanical sound, extended composition and slapdash affairs.

  • @Rostth1st Name krautrock she is secondary towards the entire movement and she spread only in seventies, at first mainly in the press English-speaking. At present however he seems universally to be accepted.

  • @Rostth1st

sure, founded 1969 in Hannover - Germany

  • @Rostth1st

  • invisible drumsticks?

  • There are 6 New DVD serie with many Krautrock bands. THis video is included in one of the DVD

  • On wich series? Whats the name of it?

  • that's rare! Please post more! The pianist is good in their albums.

  • You can see Frank Bornemann at 0:22 and then again at 2:09. I wish we had more information on this video and song.

  • you cant find this song on the any studio albums, this is first 45's...

  • hell yeah! tahnks for posting this. good to see some realy early eloy

  • Early Eloy was raw n heavy unlike their late polished progressive stuff. This and Dschinn 1972 are kick ass German bands Hear both

  • I love Eloy and I didn't know about this! Great music! Are you sure this is Eloy? The sound is so hard and no one of this guys seems to be Frank Bornemann. But the vocal is the same of the first album of Eloy. So, if you can give further info please do it.

  • @Hoeker Dude. .. on Eloy's first albun there where a difrerent vocalist.Pay attantion at 1: 12 '' it's frank bornemann on the guitar and in the car playing the guitar too hehe.He only became the official singer in eloy in the albun "inside" ...(1973) and nmever leave the vocals since than .Hope i could help!

  • This isn't actually "Walk Alone" though, is it? Well, it's a totally different song to the Walk Alone single and I can't find it on any of their albums or compilations. Can anyone tell me what this track actually is, please?
