Let me tell you something, when in the Falklands in 1982 the Argentine forces out numbered the British, for every 1 man we had they had 4. By day 74 we had lost a fair few men, we were low on ammunition, low on moral and low on spirits. Its not the weapons or tanks or planes at all, those soldiers from argentina didnt want to be there and we did. Thats heart.

China is buying all of the USA's war debt, and is currently not spread out all over the globe. Check your facts. I would be concerned with 2.2 million active military members, and the 2nd highest budget in the world. He was shot through the neck, a fatal wound that should have killed him instantly. But, his "unimportant heart" allowed him to continue living until his gun literally ran dry of ammunition. The human "heart" has led to many strange and unimaginable results in the battlefield, never underestimate its value.

@NeonReven91 dude, get your facts right. the Springfield Armory made guns for the US throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. There are springfields from 1822, to 1863, and a lot in between. And the there is the 1903 springfield used during ww2. So yes, there were springfields during the civil war, and there were also springfields from ww2

@dismask The USSR did not win or lose the war in Afghanistan - I don't see how strategic withdrawal even counts as a defeat - after their withdrawal, the war in that country raged on after the collapse of the Afghan government - who were the real losers. Same thing about the US war in Vietnam - by the time the NVA conquered the South, the US was no longer a combatant. By the way, the North Vietnamese were actually armed and supported by the USSR - a superpower of the 20th century.

Special forces units have put a toll on them by taking out their leaders (both in junior and senior levels) and they've made themselves just as unpopular around the country - suicide bombers, IEDs, human shields and attacking schools are indiscriminate as an air or artillery strike.

To say the US has the greatest military in the universe, is like saying (Insert actor here) is the greatest actor ever. The US has a well trained military but not the best. Canada has a well trained military but not the best. You can't say an army is greater than another, cause in the sense, you can only base an army on its actions. Is the country a war craving country? Do they want peace around the world. The list goes on and on, full of questions.
i am an american living in england. my dad was in the us navy and us army. he was based in the uk and in scotland to help british troops with their training back in the late 70s and early 80s. my mother is english and her father was in ww2 and even he has told my dad that usa has the best military in the world and thanks my dad for being alive today and he is 97 years old

Ireland was a similar sort of thing to what is happening in afghanistan now except it was all Britsh military and counter-insurgency.

Let me tell you something, when in the Falklands in 1982 the Argentine forces out numbered the British, for every 1 man we had they had 4. By day 74 we had lost a fair few men, we were low on ammunition, low on moral and low on spirits. The remaining commanding officer though had a plan, he sent a man to ask them to surrender...and you know what? They did. Its not the weapons or tanks or planes at all, those soldiers from argentina didnt want to be there and we did. Thats heart.

Not many other countries have the defence budget the US has, but there are many equally strong willed soldiers from other countries.

China is buying all of the USA's war debt, and is currently not spread out all over the globe. Check your facts. I would be concerned with 2.2 million active military members, and the 2nd highest budget in the world. Every person in China has an obligation to serve, which means a country with the heart to serve, and the means to do so.

He was shot through the neck, a fatal wound that should have killed him instantly. But, his "unimportant heart" allowed him to continue living until his gun literally ran dry of ammunition. The human "heart" has led to many strange and unimaginable results in the battlefield, never underestimate its value.

That Lcpl died, not with the desire to survive, but to provide security at his point, his sector of fire, so that, until he fired his last round, he knew the enemy would be incapable of rushing his location and thereby leading to the deaths of the men around him. What strengthens an ideal? Morale and individual heart. Keep those two things alive within that ideal, and you will never truly lose the war itself, you will always exist. I recommend you actually read on wartime strategies, philosophies and books before attempting to continue. You're losing your own battle.

And the there is the 1903 springfield used during ww2. So yes, there were springfields during the civil war, and there were also springfields from ww2

Whilst most sign up to kill and to do something cause they cant go to college and are incompetent douche-bags. Granted some of our boys over there did sign up to learn the marine way and accept the ideas they give to change their lives. Other soldiers join up and spit on military teachings. @dismask The USSR did not win or lose the war in Afghanistan - I don't see how strategic withdrawal even counts as a defeat - after their withdrawal, the war in that country raged on after the collapse of the Afghan government - who were the real losers. Same thing about the US war in Vietnam - by the time the NVA conquered the South, the US was no longer a combatant. By the way, the North Vietnamese were actually armed and supported by the USSR - a superpower of the 20th century.

Special forces units have put a toll on them by taking out their leaders (both in junior and senior levels) and they've made themselves just as unpopular around the country - suicide bombers, IEDs, human shields and attacking schools are indiscriminate as an air or artillery strike.

To say the US has the greatest military in the universe, is like saying (Insert actor here) is the greatest actor ever. The US has a well trained military but not the best. Canada has a well trained military but not the best. You can't say an army is greater than another, cause in the sense, you can only base an army on its actions. Is the country a war craving country? Do they want peace around the world. The list goes on and on, full of questions.

i am an american living in england. my dad was in the us navy and us army. he was based in the uk and in scotland to help british troops with their training back in the late 70s and early 80s. my mother is english and her father was in ww2 and even he has told my dad that usa has the best military in the world and thanks my dad for being alive today and he is 97 years old
