  • This brings back memories of my childhood,My grandparents played recordings of sounds like this,That they brought back from China ages ago.

  • too good, sung fei is one of the best in China

  • Question: Do you all agree that there have been very few newly composed Chinese orchestra music? I am listening to the same music I heard 50 years ago.

No money to make? The Confucian Institutes should add Chinese music into its curriculum if it hasn't done yet. The CCP Government should subsidize it. Search for "cultural deficit" in Chinese.

  • The way she played inspires me to love the Chinese muisc more. Thank you for the sharing.

  • wow i like it so much she realy play with heart & mind

  • SIr(s): If I may, at this Date and Time, state here how this most Wonderful Performance showing Great Musical Acumen and Artistic Skill very much reminds me of the Account of Mr. Heinrich Harrer from Austria in his journey to Tibet, as in his texts 1) "Seven Years in Tibet" and 2) "Return to Tibet." Of course, there are many Beautiful Gardens in China which beautiful music declares. Thank you. Have a Nice Day. Godspeed.

  • Wonderful music and excellent performance. I enjoy listening to the music. They are great musicians

  • So Beautiful and Moving it brings tears.

  • To a western ear, this kind of music is instantly recognisable as traditional Chinese music, only when actually listening to it, is when one realises how beautiful and rich the music is. Bravo

  • @npv899 more musicians should incorporate the gaohu. its so beautiful.

very good music.

  • Beautiful tune and superb performance! My homage to Miss Soong-fei.Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  • Every time i listen to 平湖秋月,I think of my hometown 肇庆, the lakes, the moutains, the moon.

  • Man, that's awesome. Almost makes me cry.

  • It's incredible to hear true Cantonese taste played by a Shanghai girl. Excellent!

  • this is a great classical number from the old days of China's operas.

  • So beautiful that I want to sing with it...

Rocks!

  • this song has words? I thought it's music only...

  • Yes, it is a very common 小曲 in a lot of popular 粵曲. The exact one I quoted was from 柳毅傳書 之 花好月圓.

It is a very beautiful song if you like 粵曲.

  • I mean, yes it has words. I've written the lyrics in my video. It seems that there are different lyrics, so the ones in my video might not be the only ones.

  • this rendition does have lyrics, however, this performance only instrumental here, but yes, there are lyrics to it.

  • Cantonese Music Rocks"!

  • I love the way she plays. It is so expressive.

  • Continue the comment from below-

Suicidemusical, I am so glad you can see the

fact at your age. good for you.

  • I love you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nuch. awesome

  • This song reminds me of the wonderful times with my family when I was small. I can pick up the warmth I had when everybody was around the table for dinner.

  • I felt the same way when I heard this piece.

Back in the 1960s when I was a kid, they used to play this over the radiofussion during dinner time.

I hope you will enjoy this each time you heard it.

  • There's something about the uniqueness of Guangdong music.

  • Maybe because it's more high pitched than other Chinese music types. That kind of makes it more elegant because it sounds feminine.

  • Ya also that lead instrument which I often hear in traditional pieces. Know what it's called?

  • the one she is playing is gaohu

  • Could you write the characters?

  • no but you can say I am kinda an expert on the instruments

  • Ah sorry it's in the title: 高胡 :]

  • if we type Chinese then only Chinese ppl can understand it. But this is youtube, it's not only for Chinese ppl.

  • supid jerk

  • Wonderful music. It makes me dream about old times...

  • a great player she is, however she sounds like she is trying too hard to get the cantonese feel, therefore sounds very fake.

  • how rude

  • you are right. not cantonese enough.

  • You get it. It is so pretentios. And this is

what the common mistake they do in China today. They think the skill is everything.

Lack of internal spirit and traditional culture. I hope they can humbly accept the

    fact and getting improve.

  • No, I don't think pretentious, it's just not Cantonese. Skill coupled with the right ornamentation and feel IS traditional. It takes, much skill to play Cantonese music.

  • excellence.

  • Some of the ornamentation is not all too correct. But it's Song Fei, she'll put her own twist on everything!

  • Simply wonderful!

  • I like very much this sort of music. How can I buy some records? Which name do I have to ask for? Can someone help me please?

    Thank you so much!

  • Some of us are not foreigners, most likely, some are Chinese who have no software to type in the Chinese characters. Anyway, the love of music has no boudary, I agree.

  • Some of us are Chinese, but are better at English, so we prefer to type in it.

  • Wow! It sounds so great!

    Thanks for that wonderful music-clip.

  • let me know how u put a (positive one) + 1 ? i m curious

  • is that song fei? i didnt know she played gaohu.

  • An excellent performance for a cantonese classical music. Thank you for sharong this classical excellence.

  • This is one of my favorite cantonese classical music and they play it in an

excellent way.Thank you for sharing this wonderful classical excellence.

  • It's super! I Like it.

  • I like it. Thanks for posting. :)

  • A fabulous well played piece!

    A lot of Cantonese flavour.

  • Nice work.

  • This is a Cantonese music of Hong Kong more than 30 years ago. Now Zhong Fei play in another way to show this old popular Cantonese song.

  • weird

  • good

  • good try

  • it's rather nice musically, but somehow i get the feeling that the way she executes some of the cantonese ornamentation feels a little unnatural...a little too "trying" and careful...

  • Bravo!!! Thx for posting...
