  • How is this wood treated afterwards? I've seen a lot of long term shelters been done with untreated wood buried in the earth and so on but I've always been told that this wood deteriorate rapidly if left untreated.

  • a friend wants a new handle for his hewing ax.

    i wonder if you guys ever hang new handles in big hewing axes?

    this baby is twelve inches wide and appears to never have been used.

    i am not sure if the handle should have a curve ?

    here is a fact from the past. in the early 1900's railroad ties were made by "Tie Hacks", the record was said to be around one hundred made in one day's time. by one individual using a hewing axe.

  • @s37d They are from the East Sussex Partnership, completely different county. Sherwood Forest is Nottinghamshire, about 200 (ish) miles further north
