  • If I can't get sum gasoline in my car to drive to McDonald and get my big mac, I'm gonna join the Marine and start kickin' sum butts.

  • this guy is a racist and not a historian. he just speculates and does not provide concrete evidence. he jumps around randomly and he is not able to answer a simple question.

  • @thegill666

Read his book dipshit, you obviously have no idea what he's talking about.

  • @AngilasGuy

because the book obviously conforms to your redneck, hillbilly beliefs you piece of shit. I refuse to be whitewashed by a person who has no political science background. he clearly has no idea what he is talking about. Africans are not savage people they had history and civilizations that helped shaped the modern world.

  • @thegill666

    >calls me a "Redneck hillbilly"

    >checks your recent activity

    >first thing I see is WWE

    lol.

  • Meh I hate saying peak oil, it's not a good way of putting it.

  • China exceeded US fuel consumption years ago. We need to get away from it, and get to wind and solar.

  • Preparing for Peak oil is tough. I've spent 3 years doiing it...Jarod explains the situation calmly and accurately...

  • What's the word he uses at around 1'16, "about a year ago, one scarcely saw any ...???" on the road?

    thanks

  • @braquehaisv Priuses, referring to the Toyota Prius (hybrid cars, low emissions n whatnot)

  • prius on the road

  • Finally, in plain English, someone says the real reason for the war in the pacific during WWII. Japan warned the US repeatedly to remove the embargoes under threat of attack. Due to political pressures stemming from WWI, Roosevelt used the anticipated attack on Pearl Harbor as a red herring for the US's involvement. At the time, we were obviously not a military threat to Japan. Only then did the US choose to make the costliest industrial mistake that the entire world is still paying for.

  • here's da thing: if we don't seek new sources now, and if oil does run out completely, the world will revert back to a lesser state. oil and coal currently keep the world at its level. w/o them, there may be an extreme regression world wide. IDK anything about the peak oil idea, but as of today, i have yet to see an NRG source as practical as oil. someday, perhaps. now...not enough convinced of possible danger to live without oil.

  • 1:48 "If oil were ... a renewable resource ... but the amount of oil in the ground is fixed..."

  • what's your point?

  • Peak oil is a fraud? Wow, I thought I heard it all, LMAO.

  • Jared Diamond doesn't know shit about peak oil it seems. He does not take the situation nearly seriously enough.

  • how did you come to the conclusion that Diamond "doesn't know shit" (is that a double negative?) about peak oil?

  • Wow, if Dr. Diamond really understood peak oil, I wonder what he would say.

  • I said a number of things which perhaps you didn't understand.

  • Jared Diamond is a great scientist.

    Collapse is a great book.

The Oil is ended. It must head at the sources of renewables energies.

    We sink otherwise all.

  • WTF? Driving Priuses! and arguing over whether Peak Oil is real. Get a clue.

  • Paying $6/gallon for gas will be well worth the price to watch the NASCAR morons have to ride the bus.

  • On a related topic Mr. rktech I went and bought a box of drywall compound from the Home Depot the other day and on the side of the box it said "Nascar Approved." Yes, you read that right. What the @#$% does drywall or any variety of home repair got to do with a bunch of confederate flag waving car fetishists competing to see who can use up the earth's remaining petroleum the fastest? I look forward to the day when I see my drywall compound says "Jared Diamond" approved. We can but dream.

  • I wonder if more public transportation is in our immediate future, and if we can manage. Very interesting video. Thanks.

  • mrzack888...What planet are you living on??!! Peak oil is a scientific FACT.

Who, or what in your weird opinion, is Jared Diamond a 'propagandist' for? He is a scientist, a brilliantly informed one who's work is unassailable. IS it just that you don't want to face reality, or do you work for an oil company or something?

  • Jared diamond is a propagandist. Peak oil is a fraud. I used to respect him. He doesn't know his real historical facts.

  • Thanks for that sterling appraisal of a man who has won a Nobel Prize, while you have won,.... ? Diamond's re-imagining of collapse and creation of societies is brilliant. Peak oil is a fraud? Prove it. US: peaked. Russia: Peaked. Mexico: Peaked. England/Norway: Peaked. Tell us, genius, as all these areas peak around the world - and they ALL do/will... where does the new oil come from?

  • @kkob Dr. Diamond did not win a Nobel Prize. He won the Pulitzer for Guns, Germs, and Steel.

  • @mrzack888 "Peak oil is a fraud."

Oil production has peaked in the UK, America, Iran, and many other countries, and has never gone back up to high levels again. It's just a matter of time before other countries peak. Saudi Arabia and Russia are expected to peak within a few years.

    Peak oil has arrived.

  • @ManicEightBall Russia peaked in the 1980's.
