If I ever get a house with a yard, I would love to do this(I got a few years though, still in the college dorms lol). You're an inspiration really :) It's nice to know there are good people in the world like you helping them.
A great idea using running water. Cats love running water because it's cleaner and fresher than water that's been sitting. Hey, even feral cats are finicky. Really admirable effort here. I salute you. BTW, did you cut the holes in the fences for the cats? That's another terrific idea.
@79barkingspider- Thanks. Yup.... ANNA (cat with two color eyes) only likes to drink running water. And you saw correctly, those are cat shaped holes in fence. On other side of fence, it reads: CATS ONLY! The holes in fence lead to my neighbor. She feeds the feral cats in the morning, and I feed in the afternoon. Thanks for checking out my video. --stu
instead of looking after feral cats dont let ur cats become feral. if u cannot handle ur cats or ur cat had kittens give them to a pet shop or shelter (preferabl;y non kill) dont jsut abandon them on the street etc. Dont let ur cats be out door cats as the can runny away and become feral. feral cats = fault of humans :)
@TheRivalConcept: AMEN brother/sister. I trapped about 30 feral cats from this old navy base and had them sterilized... no telling how many more feral kittens this prevented from being born.
@BLUEstuartist yeah i heared they do that in australia too. most feral cats are desexed and released cuz RSPCA etc dont have enough space an well...older cats aint so much in demand unlike lil kittens. I know u can tame feral cats but not many people have the time to do so. But the blue and white long haired cat and the bi eyed white cat seem really friendly for feral cats.
@BLUEstuartist I just want to say thank you for doing what you can for these ferals. I trapped three myself and actually took them into my home once they were neutered/spayed, got their shots, tested for feline leukemia. Out of the 3, 2 are doing pretty good, one is progressing much slower. One is very affectionate and loves to be petted and neck scratched, etc. My heart breaks 4 feral cats. Its because of humans they these cats suffer and live a very harsh life.
nice video , I have a colony of ferals as well i feed them every morning n night winter ,spring ,summer and fall . They are have been trapped n nuterd in Worcester m Ma.
God Bless you for all you do for these poor babies! I am in the same situation? Beautiful cats. I live what you and other people are doing. =D I was never really into cats until I got my own. There aren't any feral cats around where I live. But I now look a cats a different way.

Bless you Stu for what you're doing. We've trapped and neutered or spayed over 20 in the last few years. We've adopted them or found them homes and brought most of them inside full-time. It's really inspiring to find other people involved in similar efforts.
Thanks David. Honestly, I was never much a cat person until I became involved in getting these ferals "fixed" so they could not reproduce. Three have found there way to live indoors fulltime, while the rest of the colony is content outdoors. Good luck with your cats! --stu
Yes, I was the camera person. Thanks for the compliments. I have been feeding these ferals for over 4 years so they trust me... especially at feeding time! These feral cats are from an old navy base near my home. I personally trapped over 25 and had them spayed and neutered. Homes were found for the ones that were friendly.

yeah!.. but i use the toilet bowl and they use your yard!...DONT GET ME WRONG! I LOVE CATS!.. I JUST HATE THE WAY THEY POOP EVERYWHERE AND IT REAKS MEN!
haha greenpalaka... i was just teasing ya. I was not a fan of cats until these feral cats invaded my neighborhood. I trapped about 25 and had them spayed and neutered to stop the endless cycle of kittens. They are much healthier now.
You can lay chicken wire down in your flower beds and garden, and cover it with mulch. The cats will not poop there because they won't be able to dig. It works great.
@EbolaV1rus great idea chicken wire i;ll have to try that and also have my neighbors try it next spring I have a colony of ferals in my back yard and they tend to go in all the garden in the area we have tried so many things . Thanks for the suggestion
I hate those cat shelters where they believe that there should not be any cats living in hte world (unless they live in someone's house), and kill about 80% of all cats that enter them. They pretend to be humane organizations that care for animals, but in reality, they are evil organizations who hate animals and want to kill as many as possible. Usually, a healthy young kitten entering a shelter is killed that same evening.
God bless you for what you do...I have three cats and my neighbor cares for about 20, animal welfare people come to the neighborhood and give meds and flea treatments, and they spay and neuter for free...and we also have an older gentleman who brings bags of food for free. these cats are so wonderful and precious once you get to know them
those who truley want to help will afford it. i have a feral colony of about 12 at my job. all fixed for 20 bucks each from a local animal rescue group. i have fed all of them every day for 2 and a half years. it costs me about 75 dollars a month. my wonderful husband just built them a new bigger shelter yesterday loaded it up on his truck and drove 30 miles to take it to them.----think occasionally of the suffering from which you spare yourself the sight...then do something about it
Thank you for being a great caregiver to your colony. I am fortunate that I was able to get all these ferals fixed for free at my local shelter. One of my ferals just let me pet him... it took 4 years for him to decide maybe I am alright after all. LOL. Cheers!
Hi.. sorry for the long delay. Yes, ferals are very shy of humans. I've been feeding this colony for over 4 years so these cats are used to me. They know I bring their supper and warm blankets. ;)
