I was born in Europe in 87 from persian parents.. I was raised as a persian and have been to Iran many times.. However, I only understand what Iran really used to be when I see the light in my parents eyes when they listen to this song. It is so unfair that we must all must leave with nostalgia, pain and as our only wish: freedom.

This is one of the greatest Persian songs of ALL TIME. I am not sure if any of you listeners are around my age to remember when thi ssong was first released in Iran back in 1969. I was 17 years old thehn and that was 41 years ago. I remember like it was yesterday, used to go to Pahlavi street in tehran in evenings after dark and take long long walks and sing this song to myself. This song was a huge hit back then and became a super CLASSIC. I listened to it now at least 10 times. Makes me cry
