This is of cource fantastic. Tete is magic. NHØP is far from 20:o.. and amazing! But the big thing is Dexters music, art, all, a big call from heaven!!
T-R-E-M-E-N-D-O !!! Dexter cada día suena mejor !! que fraseo imparable.. Dexter contó una vez que este sax (10M) se lo "llevaron" de un aeropuerto y luego empezó a tocar con el Mark VI...
This tune has long been a favorite of mine and Dexter is one of the greatest of them all. Thanks for posting this. Dexter's ideas are always fresh especially this during this period. I memorize many of his solos and sing them back and not one note wasted.
In the late seventies, I caught Dexter in Rochester, New York at our Eastman Theatre. I was sitting directly in front of his microphone stand. Needless to say, he and his gigantic sound were bigger than life... What a huge sound! Why don't any of the so-called "Young Lions" play with a sound like his. I guess they can't hear it. They say, if you can hear it, you can play it... Everybody wants to play like Trane. They are not saying anything to my ears or soul! Now, Eric Alexander certainly plays
This is Fantastic. Dexter plays as if it's the easiest thing in the world. His fingers only touches part of the pearls. And of course tete is brilliant.
You did it again, Big Chief ! Dexter and Tete in top form. I am hoping there's more from this concert, there's not enough videos of them playing together.
