  • I think its great to see that so many bands from many nations sing about their history (mythologie) like Vikings pagans in europe or this. But know someone a band who sing about greek history that would interesting me ?

  • @MasterchiefThor

Look for Holy Martyr, they are an italian epic metal band, strongly influenced by greek mythology. they even sang a song in Greek ;)

  • @MasterchiefThor Septic Flesh are influenced by that, and probably Rotting Christ too.

  • @MasterchiefThor That band with leica or something in the title, or maybe Kronos

  • GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT Band!!!!

  • @TheBlackAbyss I know they weren't muslim or allah but my friends called it like that so I called it like that. No offense for the band or anything just a funny name although we knew it was wrong ;) Hails

  • These guys coined the term 'Mesopotamian Metal'! Thats good enogth for me. Any time I describe the genres I like, I describe - "Thrash Metal", "Power Metal", "Hair Metal", "Black Metal", "Black Melodic Metal", "Neo-Classical Metal", "NWOBHM", and of course "MESOPOTAMIAN METAL"!!

  • I love this band . and I have a question . do u know what is the origin of these guys . they live most of their lives in Israel . in wikipedia said that ashmedi is arminian/ assyrian . moloch is assyrian . most of assyrian ppl are iraqis and few number of ppl lives in Iran and Turkey . so my questions from which country they came ?

    cheers

  • He grew up in Jerusalem. His family where of the Assyrian christian community (don't know from which country). His biography is somewhere online.

  • cheers mate for ur reply but that was my question . from which "country " I seached in alot of websites but i didnt find the answer . especially coz aloot of lyrics and music themes taken from iraqi old civilizations . and it make me curious to see if there origin is Iraqi . to be proud of that :D .

    thanx again

    greetings from Baghdad

  • Shit, I just realized you allready knew this.

  • @hashubarca Israel

  • Ashmedi has published a series biography articles which explains everything about him and the band. They can be found on the decibel magazine website.

    \m/

  • Awesome music. Also one of them is half Armenian. More awesome.

  • Only heard djinn before this.Liked that love this.Killer band! Savage timing

  • they are truly underrated...fuckin awesome...they should do Wacken!!

  • What a band... what a fucking awesome band...

  • the solo at 4:30 is so damn middle eastern !!!!!

    just fuckin' great !!!!!!!!!!!

  • when is their next album? did they release an estimated release date for it or not yet?

  • these guys are just fucking badass, no two ways about it.

  • omg it's pure force, pure metal, it kicks everything in the balls. fast, heavy, evil and still melodic. hail from Romania(Sweden).

  • one of the best death/black metal bands around right now. they have a very unique sound to them. amazing song and great album.

  • I dont see any death in their music :) especially sphynx album is very black/thrash but who knows maybe im wrong. anyway it's the best metal band ever.PERIOD:)

  • yeahhh !! XD fucking adrenaline arabia rules

  • holy shit man if you ever need adrenaline stat. this is the shit man

  • This is seriously great stuff

  • saw them live 2 days ago, they were much much better than the mainband immolation. They kicked ass so hard XD I even got an autograph of the singer on my melechesh shirt :-)

  • great cd

  • the music has an oriental sound to it but remains black metal. I like it !!! I'm so looking forward to seeing these guys !!!

  • Hahahah mesopotamian side? How do u know is mesopotamian music? The rythm is just arabic, middle eastern~but is nice~they also could tryed to use in theyre band the persian DAF,try to look on google about assyrians musicians ;)~GREAT BAND~THX

  • they call themselves mesopotamian metal

  • AWESOME BAND MANN !!!!

Im a big melechesh fan, and Id say that Sphynx is their best release by far, It is more black metal than emissaries, and you can feel the mesopotamian side better, in my opinion.

THis song rocks so much, Melechesh ROCKSS !!

    METAL UP YOUR ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wrong, both Emissaries and Djinn are said to have eastern elements more than Sphynx, Sphynx has a more thrashier sound. This has been declared by both fans and the band themselves.

  • dude i dont know if that;s true but i'd say all their albums are very very oriental, As jerusalem burns a little less because it s more black metal than the others but hell they have all mesopotamian sound... Kurnugi's Reign and Purifier of The Stars are my fav Apkallu Counsel also

  • i agree with you man ;) well Sphynx is their best album but the others are all very good 2, and u can feel also the mesopotamian side but yes Sphynx is the best after i don know maybe Emissaries or Djinn and what about As Jerusalem Burns...? damn they r all good, what s your favourite song on sphynx or in all albums?

  • I think their 2nd album(djinn) was a little lackluster compared to their other albums.

  • lackluster ? sorry i dont understand this word man. can u explain?

  • I just heard that their 2nd album had a few bad tracks thats all.

  • What did you think of Emissaries?

I recently got to listen to it a few times, and came to really enjoy it. There is some seriously good stuff going on in that album.

  • Haven't picked it up yet. I am busy with the new slayer and behemoth records.

  • Hail melechesh

  • Great music is tough to find regardless of the era. These guys rule! Love the guitar when it slows down for a bit adding more atmostphere/doom to the music. Great use of dynamics, vocals are amazing and drummer is solid. Love to hear more bass but that's true for the majority of metal bands.

  • they had way to much bass when i saw em live

  • @redshaftedflicker And it's a youtube video. There is generally no bass to hear.

  • @MeetWithResistance It sounds like this on the album. Obviously the CD sounds better, but the tonal balance is the same.

  • @redshaftedflicker One thing I love about seeing these guys live is that you can hear the bass very well. Wish it was the same in their recordings, like you said.

  • I´ve seen them at earthshaker fest 2007.they are great.

  • Very cool spot...I am big fan of Melechesh but i haven't seen them in live...They are not so popular but they will be soon i guess
