Ninja's extremely powerful now, but a lot of people don't have headsets, so the advantage isn't immediately apparent to them. They'd just be using it to prevent being soundwhored. In MW2, those without headsets tend to gravitate towards Commando or Steady Aim, with some Last Stand. In Black Ops, I'm going to guess most will go for Marathon, Second Chance (for the revive), or Hacker (depending on how prevalent Motion Trackers are).

Never used dead silence in COD 4, I hope it's gonna be the same way in BO. Sucks that it was the first perk among SP that you begin to build your class from in MW2. However Ninja Pro gives the advantage of not being detected by camera spikes and the only other tier 3 perks I'm interested in are marathon and hacker. Dunno. For now the possible class set-ups seem confusing, no one has any idea how the game's gonna play when it comes out.

In CoD4 a lot of people ran Deep Impact as their 3rd perk especially for Snipers and Assault rifles. They got away with it because more of the maps had mostly mid to long range gun fights. Almost making dead silence pointless with those weapons. Now in MW2 they put FMJ as weapon attachment so no everyone can use Ninja and still wall bang. basicly FMJ instead of deep impact = fail.

Normally I like your commentaries but this one made me facepalm. Just the top two:

1) In what alternate reality does it make sense that you could change the claymore to friendly from a distance? You packing Jedi mind tricks? People would be doing that shit from adjacent buildings, etc....

2) Balance in ANY multiplayer game is EXTREMELY difficult if not IMPOSSIBLE to obtain. Lower the damage? people will use something else necessitating another nerf. And the reciprocal is true also.

Completely agree about Rundown... if you're in a pub match (w/o a set group) and your team is getting domination it's impossible to cross any of the bridges. Hopefully Treyarch will balance out the map designs in B.O. One nice thing though will be Hacker Pro, where you can (supposedly?) turn enemy claymores against them, booby trap care packages, etc.

I think ur being a bit stubborn making it out balancing weapons is easy, the problem is making the game balanced not just the one gun, if u balance one gun then suddenly a different gun becomes unbalanced because it is better now than the first unbalanced gun so you are in a cycle of dubbing down weapons until all weapons are the exact same and then wats the point? it harder than it sounds. great game play though on a better note xD

Nasa, it's tougher than you think. It's not nearly as simple as make the gun weaker. CoD is actually an easier game to balance than most because the guns are all relatively similar. Halo is way more balanced and actually tougher to balance. A game like Warcraft which is imperative to have balanced has been through over 20 patches, and while very well balanced still has a couple imperfections. The thing is people continue to find exploitable stuff.

This is for xNaSaoNe: IW actually had a whole division taking care of the multiplayer, and it still had it's flaws so don't expect it to be perfectly balanced in Black Ops just cause they got a guy working on it. But i do hope Treyarch correct IW's mistakes :)

I use a shotgun on my sniper class but i only break it out when im moviing to a place or my claymore is gone and i can't find a scav pack. But i understand what you mean about it ruining gameplay, i get impossible range from it but i'd rather use it as a secondary than i would tehe AA-12.
