ahaaaaaa they have tested the system but on my flight from FRA to JNB in C-class June 2011 the inflight system was not free froms bugs, it froze untill it was reset ! Da muessen wir ons noch verbessern :-)

@Funnyfunnyfunny3x P.S. sollten die Bildschirme am Anfang gemeint sein? Die sind nur im Simulator !! Dort kann der Prüfer (Pilot und Copilot werden zweimal im Jahr geprüft) Fehler und Ausfälle von Instrumenten und Geräten einspielen. Die Flugbesatzung muss darauf richtig reagieren. Die Besatzung in einem Linienflug besteht nur aus einem Pilot und Copilot !!

@subsitor Bei den meisten Langstreckenflügen sind so meine ich 3 Piloten an Bord, z.b. auf der B747!

Ansonsten finde ich Boeingflugzeuge insbesondere die 777 wesentlich stylischer, hübscher wie von außen sowie vom Cabindesign, 747 ausgenommen.

@Funnyfunnyfunny3x Die Seitenscreens dienen für Navigation auf Flugplätzen und zeigen auch den aktuellen Wartungsstatus an. Bei letzterem können Piloten und copiloten auch selber Einträge machen, damit die Wartungscrews beim nächsten Check darauf reagieren könne. Die Tastatur im ausziehbaren Tisch schon gibts auch bei anderen Airbusmodellen.

@Oceanic180 Actually there is - The Beluga is a super-sized Airbus used only by the manufacturer in order to transport pieces of airplane during the assembly process. Search for it, it's an amazing aircraft.

@maxou5757 Sir, You did not read my write up below. Senior pilots flying the heavies make more than 200k a year. Even those flying for Fed X, etc. make more than 200k.

But yes I was talking about airline pilot in general, from the first officier with one year experience(50k a year) up to the captain with 15 years of experience(which can make 250k a year no problem) It also depends on how many hours the pilot flies a month. Usually it's 75hrs, but it can be more or less.

Why don't you find another job that will pay you around 250,000 per year after you pay your dues, around 10 t0 15yrs. That is what the captains make flying the heavies.

@OMGz1122 A380 is mostly used for very long distances (intercontinental & transatlantic flights) which means more flight hours = more working hours for the pilots more money.

Another reason is that airliners hire experienced pilots for the A380. More experience = more money.
