Maybe shortage in the wiring that connects the button to the motherboard? It seems like it.

Just used a test light clipped to the case.
G5 never ran again, just sold the case for aluminium scrap :(

What tools is that and how do you find out out how to do these kinds of tests? And did the G5 ever get up and running again?
