There is something so subliminal about this song...somehow hearing it calls up all the cliche's and images of the deep sweaty south....the big plantation hopes, the cyprus trees, the iced tea on the porches, the poor black old men somehow regal...the southern belles, the white dresses on beautiful young black women going to southern church...maybe it's just me...maybe its just a southern thang'.

Either way, the voice and face of Gillian was perfect for this, she is mesmerizing.

I was at OCMS last week, Dave Rawlings Machine w/ John Paul Jones were the support act and played with OCMS at the end of the gig and this song was the encore ender, and my god - every hair on my body stood up, it was just amazing, perfect harmony's, perfect musicianship, perfect song choice and perfect energy and heart in the song - awesome.
