  • Wow that clip almost hypnotised me. Maybe I'm a robot and don't know it. :)

  • I wonder if the design of the Host in 'Voyage of the Damned' was an homage to the robots of this episode. I didn't see it at the time, but the similarity in face seems to suggest so.

  • Bad Robot

  • I was hoping you'd include my favorite line of the whole story:

"Please do not throw hands at me."

    lol

  • One of the best Dr. Who episodes ever.

  • Lol, love the irony of this episode.

  • Well dreams I enjoyed, I had one dream when this Voc was walking after me in some fancy show room furniture gallery . I was only a kid, so could hide under beds, tables, and stuff. Like hide and seek and I ditched him.

  • I watched this when I was like 3 or 4 yrs old when this was new.

  • @XeonogaShanti9 And I bet it gave you nightmares, as it did me!

  • This still knocks the shit out of new who.The incidental music alone was creepier than todays!!

  • Bring the VOC robots back. Superb story from 77. I still remember the BBC trailer with the green Voc's and their red glowing eyes.

  • @bondbug73 They did come back in the audio story Kaldor City, but yeah it'll be cool to see up grades. Same design.

  • This is serious shit, it scared the fuckin pants off me

  • This era of WHO, Seasons 12,13 & 14, is absolutely SUPERB. A roll-call of consistent high quality, timeless masterpieces or near-masterpieces: Ark in Space, Genesis of the Daleks, Terror of the Zygons, Planet of Evil, Pyramids of Mars, Android Invasion, Brain of Morbius, Seeds of Doom, Masque of Mandragora, Deadly Assassin, Robots of Death, Talons of Weng Chiang.....nothing more need be said.

The New Series wishes it could be 1/10th as good.

  • i make them good robots go bad

  • the first time i saw those robots when they were programmed evil i crapped myself and when i watched it it turned into one of my favorite stories but you can't beat ark in space or pyramids of mars

  • "here are you new orders" *gives seizure* *robot's head explodes* "......fuck....."

  • Man, that was creepy. And beautiful.

  • what year is this from?

  • @danielmount This serial originally aired in 1977.

  • A wonderful Doctor Who story - outstanding and one of the few that holds its own as an example of hard science fiction. Endlessly rewatchable - haunting and exciting and chilling in the extreme.

  • @randomdave30 Completely agree. This was one of the best ensemble casts of any Doctor Who serial and it has gobs of atmosphere, excellent production design and an engaging (if traditional) mystery.

Chris Boucher's unofficial sequel novel "Corpse Marker" and the "Kaldor City" radio plays by Magic Bullet delve really deep into the world of The Robots of Death and I highly recommend them for any fan of this serial. Uvanov is a hoot as an old bureaucrat.

  • @ChiefOddball i haven't been able to look at bicycle reflectors in quite the same way again...

  • so these are the robots.

  • They so cool The Robots because they turning red.

  • The First character called Seven. George Constanza wanted a kid named Seven. Married with Children had a kid named Seven. And there was Seven of Nine from ST Voyager. HA!

  • Oh no its a Cylon!!! See the virtual glow in his eyes.

  • orders accep...accep..accept...orders accepted Mmmmm sounds like a day at work does it not???

  • I love it when robots have Elvis hairstyles.

  • Why is he whispering?

  • @AnoukvdS might be close to someone and dosnt want anyone to know hes their hiding from someone

  • Please do not throw hands at me.

  • Those robots were so beautiful.

  • especially that silver one

  • Yeah, works of classic art in Robot form.

While other Robots (like Kryten from Red Dwarf) are pieces of MODERN art in Robot form.

  • @algoyo shame about his hair XD

  • @TabletopwargamingHD

It's hard to get some height when one's hair is solid metal.

  • the robots of death storyline was almost the same in the first Oude story on the new series..

  • these episodes scared the bee-jesus out of me when i was a kid!!!

  • omg i use to watch thsi when i was little
