  • i think thats awesome they listen to yes and bill bruford

  • 3:40 Alex was probably thinking "Holy shit that weed hit me hard, but i think i can formulate a sentence now....."

  • @sqweebel1 I watched this on the R30 DVD and thought exactly the same thing. Been there.

  • what's with alex?

  • "Why don't you you guys contribute much lyrically?" "Cause we don't talk so good"

    LOL

  • Um, 5:53

    ????

  • Nice Kudos from Geddy regarding YES!

  • New LE STUDIO YOUTUBE CHANNEL for Rush Fans - bringing you the tragedy of this iconic Canadian recording studio. The story is still being written on its fate. It's not dead yet! We've committed ourselves to following this place and keeping Rushians informed until it's final day of death, or resurrection to glory.

  • I wonder if Mercyful Fate and King Diamond were influenced by Rush in a way...

  • "The new Pink Floyd album" - a little album called THE WALL? =)

  • "the new pink floyd record" man.... the wall... to be there when that was new had to be something

  • @ryder356 it was one of the favorite bands along with yes genesis cream etc..

  • I wonder if Pink Floyd ever listened to Rush....

  • @ryder536 or vice versa

  • how intelligent is mr peart i could listen to him for hours

  • 1:28 neil lights hes cigarette thinking "when is this fuken interview over"????? Lol

  • never was spark sirs. purge flee fight

when caught in corners of tripping taps

why does not as such in 2011 neither say tambourine

    sniffluffaguffagus facility

  • Yeah, they're not *so* serious.

  • 1:30 "haha, no" Neil is so badass lol

  • I wish Alex would let the other two get a word in edgewise.

  • For Metallica fans at 4:26 I think we know the answer to the question considering the year this video was made. It's cool how he asks Rush this question in 1980 just when Metallica was starting to form. 3o years later and the answer is 'yes!'

  • @dethmag metallica has tons of radio airplay and they suck.

  • @raredrumd wow youre an idiot when it comes to music. Where to begin? In your opinion penisface, they suck lol. Metallica will go down in history as one of the greats of all time wtf are you talking about? Sad that you dont see the fucking greatness in Metallica lol seriously sad. Over 100 million records sold and they suck? Sure go ahead and say its not about how many records u sell. Blow me.. it does on this planet meathead. Long live Metallica Hahahahahaha pussy.

  • @dethmag Dude you shoulda just ignored that guy. You seem to have gotten a bit...carried away.

  • @CAZekany appologies for the schoolyard language.. I'm working on it. The comment I was replying to was ridiculous and had nothing to do with what I said.

  • @dethmag rofl you're a fucking piece of shit. record sales = what a bunch of fuckin little poppy kids buy. metallica is a pop metal band. MEGADETH is so much fucking better. metallica is so sell outish. have you seen that interview where they all start crying? roflmao. i seriously dream about shitting all over lars ulrich's face. i fucking hate metallica so much. rofl. and who cares if metallica goes down in history? my opinion is all that matters to me, so fuck off bitch. fuck off scumshit. :)

  • @raredrumd Hey meathead... when you are a little more educated we can debate like MEN lol. Bud when I read your terrible comment all I can think of is a "little poppy kid" hahaha im sorry, but its true, and those are your words chump. What a fucking clown you are.. go meet a girl sometime maybe she will lesson the hate out of you. Better yet, start talking that way IN PERSON to people and not on the internet lol, see what happens. Fucking coward yellowbelly hey go clean the sand from your vagina

  • @raredrumd Little pricks like you are very very predictable, understand? You go now... read my reply to you and come up with some more "poppy kid" stuff. Be sure to reply with more insults, don't be original and be sure to include alot of lol, lmao and whats the other thing the kids do?? Oh yeah.. lmfao, yeah those. Enjoy your opinions... I am done with you, Im too witty for you boy...

  • @dethmag metallica fans aren't witty, go fucking suck lars's 1 inch dick, also you start talking the same way in person fuckface, i already do. usually a comment such as yours is full of hypocritical statements trying to make oneself feel better about themselves due to the fact that this IS the internet. so fuck off, nothing you could ever do could change my or so many other people's opinion that metallica is PURe fucking trash, garbage, waste of music. shit stains on your brother's sheets. fag.

  • @raredrumd lol both bands are suckish quit arguing

  • @dethmag lol you're an idiot

  • I kept yelling at the screen for Alex to talk! Damn he was so shy lol He talked about seeing Yes at the one part and then of course, when he puts the freakin freaky mask on he acts like a nut...with his poodle head XD God these guys are so awesome! Gotta love Ged's glasses too :D

  • @Moon27 Oh and I missed the part near the beginning where Geddy and Alex are acting "dumb" at 0:49 XD ! Thats another part you hear Alex say something......that part made me lol.

  • new Pink Floyd album in 1980... that would have been The Wall, guess that might have been worthy of a few spins on Neil's turntable :P

  • @Zen0Ph0bus Yeah it had to be The Wall. Thats the only thing that was out by them around that time. It brings delight to my ears to hear that they were into Floyd too :D My new favorite band likes my all time favorite band. Makes me happy lol.

  • @Moon27 my folks didn't allow me to listen to radio or rock music growin up but my older brother handed me down this educational toy robot called 2XL which played 8 track tapes and so I went around to neighborhood garage sales and the 1st box i got had 2112, Yes Album, JTull's Passion Play and Pat Benetar's Heat of the Night.... had a mono earplug and that's how I first discovered rock. So Rush always takes 1st place in my heart but I love Floyd too... 1st 8track i found was Final Cut :)

  • @Moon27 It was The Wall. Alex Lifeson would meet David Gilmour in Toronto in 2006 during Gilmour's On an Island series of US/Canadian shows at Massey Hall. David told Alex that the best way to write music is to just use an acoustic guitar and let ideas flow. Alex thanked Gilmour on the Snakes and Arrows liner notes. Also on Behind the Lighted Stage they admitted to being Pink Floyd and Genesis. I'm a fan of all three of those bands.

  • So, all you Rush fans who think Rush invented prog-rock, why don`t you go out and follow your band`s influences and check out Fragile, Close to the Edge and Relayer by YES? Everything you love about Rush can be found on those albums. Well, except the harmony vocals. Gotta love YES, where would Rush be without them? Long live Rush and long live YES!

  • @Johnnywr seriously? who the heck would say something like that... never heard anyone make that claim. I was about to say that I remember an interview where Geddy was talking about how much he was looking forward to checking out YES in concert and turned out it was this interview ahaha... he said it right when i was starting to type that out. Guess I've seen this clip b4 :P

  • I feel like they were a litlle too "heady" for their own good, the music that is. They seem like normal fellows when you hear them in the interview though.

  • YEAAA Neil Rockin the FM t-shirt

  • Geddy Lee looks hilarious in this video

  • whered he get a lord opf rings movie prop before it even came out

  • @OHanswerME4Hamlet20 It's originally a book written in the late 30s-40s..

  • The Police. Thank you, Neil. Love ya

  • Geddy Lee's glasses have gotten a lot smaller over the years. Cool interview. I haven't heard many with Neil Peart.

  • Geddy: It rolled over and died.

Neil: (simultaneously) Rolled over and died.

^Cannot help but love Rush. Alex was so shy in this interview(which is uncommon). I love how Geddy and Neil would just keep talking like crazy.

  • living legends

  • Wow so rare. great find.

  • awesome interview. They interview in the same way they played music: no bulshit.

  • I love what Geddy does at the end with his glasses and the funny sound. haha.

  • wow 'Yes', 'Bill Bruford's new band', 'UK', 'Talking Heads', 'Pink Floyd' - how more prog can you get!!

  • When Geddy says : "Not no Lewis and Clark expedition here. There's lots of bands that have proved it to us ......... " , he let's the Canadian come through. Cool interview.

  • rush and yes in the same room? my head would explode!

  • "Why don't you guys write more songs?" What a douchey, pointed question, lol.

  • damn those glasses are huge

  • @TheRisingforce2000 Geddy looks like a hoot owl!

  • @mojorisen74 true but damn hes a badass bass player

  • @TheRisingforce2000 but there ssssso adorable! :D

  • According to several Alex Lifeson interviews, pot was the least of their addictions. Alex said there was rarely a day in the late 70s early 80s where he wasn't coked-up out of his mind

  • Comment removed

  • @herostatus That explains a hell of a lot. That explains where he got the solo for La Villa. It really does sound like a drugged-out nightmare made flesh.

  • what a complete tool that interviewer is

  • hahaha theyre stoned!

  • @gumbalooza lol totaly i lol'd soooo hard at the end
