  • The real Shauri Yako is by Nguashi N'timbo and is the best

  • when i first heard this song i was just a lad growing up in zimbabwe . this is africa at it's best . the song will never grow old . classic .

  • Actually the real Shauri Yako was performed by Festival Orchestre du Zaire.

Their version was also far superior.

Hope to hear their version online someday - or news of litigation against these thieves.

  • @starofesther This is a poor man telling his girlfriend to love him the way he is. He says he can't do underhand deals to impress her; and advises her to ship out if she can't cope with him.

  • MAIWE ZVANGU INI!!!!!!!! THIS SONG YANDIPEDZA MAFUTA...MUCH LOVE FROM ZIMBABWE.....

  • East -AFRICA COMING LIVE !

  • Reminds me of my time in Nairobi, Kenya!

  • This is one of my all time favorites from anywhere. It reminds me of my two years in Dar Es Salaam (1975-1977). I play this song over and over and over. Just this past summer when I was stuck in the airport in London for 4 days I shared this song with a fellow traveler. He was from Kenya and told me that it brought back memories for him also and that was also one of his favorites.

  • Please credit the original of this song to the band FESTIVAL DU ZAIRE! Was composed by Nguashi Mwana Ntimbo and co-sang with Zele wa Kabamba in the then Nairobi based Festival du Zaire! This version of Mazembe is a cover; a good one at that, and incidentally even more famous than the original!

  • Definetely East African classic. No questions. These guys were based in Nairobi back in those days and would rock all of E Africa with their hits. Remember Les Mangelepa? Nairobi those days was the place to be. Sorry its gone down so badly these days. Like those cowboy towns from the Westerns. Lawless gunmen roaming the streets. Shooting everything in their path. You wouldn't catch me dead in Nairobi. My 2 cents.

  • miraegye, am East African, and if you ask me, i will definately confirm to you that this is as east african as it is an African clasic.

  • My best song nilipokuwa kinder.....!!

  • oh how i miss my dad and my aunt Agnes!

  • Ajabu gani haya bwana Mwai?!!! What was the name of that radio program?

  • Tabia yako na yangu haisikilizani!!! lol. classic wisdom/insight from oldskool (1980s).

  • Ya know... ya gotta feel real sorry fer the three people who don't like this song

They must really be in a world of hurt

  • love this...reminds me of King Sunny Ade......thanks for sharing

& thank you Chuck also :--)

  • This was originaly peformed by Nguashi Ntimbo as I remember,

but Super Mazembe brought out the best in it to make it a classic,. their music is considered as one of the golden era of Kenyan Lingala music, Nice rhythm to the music.

  • It makes me cry to see so many hearts touched so deeply by this music ! ! ! I must know the year this was released. 1981? My channel is the music of the world - we are all brothers. 500 playlists, 111 of them are the music of each year since 1900. I put this on 1981 now unless someone tells me different.

I am in Arizona & learned of this song from my newest subscriber in Switzerland ! ! ! I invite you to visit my channel & share African music when you know the release year so I can include it!

  • @chkjns

  • nice song mapenzi siku hizi ni pesa

  • This is a very nice song, Growing up Memories i remember around 1980's, my dad used to play this music, but can someone translate what this song mean?

  • @Pipsniq The singer is singing to his wife, who apparently doesn't love him, but just wants him for his money and buying nice clothing and things. In the chorus he sings about how he cannot kill for love because it's a sin against God, so she should just go and leave him alone forever. That's the gist of it.

  • @stegemanoracle THANX FOR TRANS I WAS MARRIED TO ONE SHE IS STILL TAKING MY MONEY STILL GOD BLESS HER

  • tabitaeguangs i am sorry to say i dont agree with u most africans i know are very proud of their heritage as africans i am from the southern region of africa never the less do i think iam more proud than my fellow brothers and sister from all other african region

  • I'm from west Africa but I have this remark to make about east Africans:they know how to hold on to being African and this is what gives Africa the threshold of a long history.i'm really proud to be an african.

This song is heavenly and has unmeasurable values.

    Shauri yako Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from west Africa but I have this remark to make about East Africans :they know how to hold on to being African and this is what makes Africa have a threshold of a long standing history.
