So awesome! This little segment on Extended Play got me into DDR when I first saw it on TechTV back in 2001. Changed my life. I became a much more sociable person after discovering DDR thanks to this vid.
Wow, what a bunch of losers listening to lame music and playing uninteresting games, feeding corporate lifestyles with their need to buy games, consoles, television sets, and video game accessories, whilst conforming to societal trends about fashion and what is cool.
"Video games help me lose weight!" That is just sad.
Ever heard of hiking? Eating healthy? Sports ? Sex ? "No. 'Dancing' at home to video game screens. That is the solution! Now if I can just find a girl lame enough to have sex."
Do you expect someone that goes hiking to be hiking all the time, never stopping? Me neither. I just don't go around claiming video games are getting me my well-needed exercise. BTW, my comment wasn't designed to elicit negative responses or start a flame-war. I was merely pointing out the obvious absurdities in the video. You, apparently, did not see them. Seeing as how this was 3 months ago, I would say you are exhibiting Troll-Like tendencies...trying to elicit an argument

Now why is it that I've seen Dynamite Rave in competitions, with so many different people, and the performance uses the same moves where they dip down and hit the arrows with their knees or hands? I noticed that from this video, and in a few others.
That's a very good, and accurate description of yourself, quittergod3. Might I recommend you to add "fucking idiot" and "biased faggot" to your comment to increase the accuracy of your self-description?
X-Play is like a newly revamped version of every video game review show he's hosted since...well, a while. I remember watching this with her on it when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL, and I'm about to turn 21 now. So yeah. This guy has been hosting for a loooong time.
im a solo ddr player and ive been playing ddr sence I was in the 2nd grade and now im 13 and i do solo ddr and i do competing the last i went to I gor 3rd place in ddr solo on heavy!
DDR use to be cool before Pump It Up Extend the new genoration of dancing came along.Pump It Up super awsome couse better songs better grapiks and not gay shit.
i tried it one time and it was really really difficult even if you're skilled in dancing , "dance dance revolution" is the hardest thing i have ever tried ! para para pradise is very simple compared to this !
ITG is way more a challenge to me. I mean, sure it might take slightly more coordination to play PIU, but some of the songs are just outrageously stepped.
I'll stick to my Uber Rave, One More Lovely, and Strangeprogram(which I have yet to pass...damnit).
jesus christ...can we all stop bashing dance games we dont like? i mean, saying "eww pump it up blows" isnt going to make people hate it. i dont say crap like "DDR sucks" just because i like PIU more. i play all three of them, and i say each has its ups and downs, and are all good.
Ask the developer of PIU on why it's not heavily available on arcades, and why their sales figures on the home systems are patheic, compared to DDR Supernova and even ITG!
Ohhh the embarassment... big glasses, braces... "it helps me run the mile at school, I've definitely gotten more stamina from it." *slaps forehead* D'oh! >_<';
2000/2001 was the best time for DDR... still friends with some of the peeps I used to play with back then. Culture-wise, I don't think there was ever anything quite like it before or after its reign.
It's in konami' stomach being digested cause of a freaking lawsuit. And I think that the lawsuit wasnt for copyrights but because ITG was getting bigger and bigger and making games way faster
OMG! DDR is still so hot in my city! And they're showed Dam Dariram on the 4th MIX which was the mix I really got hook on three years ago. Hope I get my hands (err, feet) on SuperNOVA. LET'S DDR! Hey kapamilyaDDR1, Pinoy ka rin no? Ü Hehehe.
Falling in luu uu uuu uuu uuuuu uuuuvv! Dari ri ram dadi dam dadi dam dadi dadi dadi dam dadi da da daaa...
Hmmm 6-9 years ago DDR was really popular. when i was like 6 but over here para para dance floor became more popular and ddr isnt played anymore...but i luv the dari ri ram song!
I think the news report should have shown that you could get in on the beginner's level and not just compete, but it's old, I can't complain. It's some pretty awesome freestyle footage. Other than that, what happened to this Extended (X) Play? They used to actually talk to people about why they liked the game so much, and didn't sit there mocking everybody's fandom. Actually, I was Eric's roomate and he's speaking the truth. Funny enough, he was a big Subway eater around that time too. But homeboy played about $10-20 worth of DDR 4-5 times a week. He walked 3 miles to the nearest arcade to play (6 miles of walking per time he played DDR), so after about 18 months, he -did- drop all that weight he claimed!
I remember around that time when DDR used to be all about fun. Now it honestly has became something too competitive and the arcade etiquette has went down the drain. Thank goodness for home versions!
Back then, people almost HAD to come together and be united as DDR fans to give the game exposure and credibility. Now that it's able to stand on its own reputation, factions are formed, lines are drawn... and then the drama ensues. *sigh*
The etiquette is still there. It all depends on where and where you play. I can attest to that because of the people that had given me pointers to improve and finally play on standard level
