  • do you have to pan your tracks?

  • what about presonus studio one!?!?!?!?!?! desperately need help

  • Is it possible with à MPC 500 and Fruity Loops 9? :)

  • It still weirds me out that some people call anything that isn't a drum sample a sample. I mean, the kick, snare and hats are samples too.

  • dam this is useful, i didnt even know this was possible haha

  • hello could be done with the MPC500 .?????????? would be like?

  • Great video. I've done all this and it works fine, the only problem I'm having is that when I select my Interface as my Output Device, no sound coming out, but when I have the Output as my Built in Mac Speakers, it works fine. Help would be much appreciated!

  • how do i do this with jjos 4.99?

  • I see your sequencing in MONO. Would it really matter if you used up 2 inputs per channel for Stereo?

  • Thanks man!!

  • Fucking great video, but one more question I want to be able to get a sound from the computer like reason for example, but have the MPC as the sequencer. How would i do that?

  • what's tracking

  • so with doing this i can chop a sample in the MPC and then as im playing the sample it will record into cubase ?

  • Nice! I use pro tools & the mpc 2000XL etc.....& that's been my only prob. for the last 2yrs(tracking it out) so I use reason b/c it's easier, but I'd like to still know how to track it out w/ my set up(over 100 mpc beats have gone 2 waste b/c I don't know how to track it into pro tools) can u help me?

  • great tutorial

  • Does this work for garage band... I'v been trying for quite a while and can't seem to get it..

  • DAW he's using is Cubase.

  • great video, but i have logic, is there anyone with a similar video but for logic 9?

  • Hey Can I do this with a Rack Module Solo Sounds into tracks on the MPC that come From a Rack Module or is there no other way than to record them one at a time?

  • damn man thanks, best vid about this that ive see... very detailed. 5 stars

  • thanks. much appreciated.

  • yo lets say I record a track of hihats or kicks on the mpc that are not quantized and are swingin with a natural feel but then I record it in my DAW like this and it quantizes it.

How do I stop the quantization to keep that natural feel that i had in the mpc??

  • turn quantize off on your DAW. it should then record the way it is on the mpc

  • Thanks fam, I been looking 4 this! All the other vids show u 1 without the other never how 2 setup both!!!

  • that's what up. glad to hear that you got something from this vid. I will be doin more vids in the near future. stay tuned.

  • Do the same rules apply as far as Track and Sync for the MPC 2500 and cubase

  • Yes it does.

    Great tutorial btw

    thanks alot!

  • it should the 2500 is the same as the 1000 just bigger and some more features

  • MPC 1000 FL Studio 8 and MAUDIO Delta 1010 with midi in/out on the break out box...I've run through this but still having problems, do you think you can help?

  • fl is not really meant for audio recording, look in to my profile, i have neundo tutorials very similar to cubase.

  • wow...good stuff man keep posting stuff like this up man trully informative. question tho..how would i sync the mpc lets say if i had a keyboard hooked up to it as a sound module? and is it nesscesary to have both midi in and out on the MPC connected to the interface?

  • I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to.

My setup is Pro Tools M-Powered, MobilePre USB Interface, Axiom61 MIDI Controller, MPC 1000, Power Mac G4 OS X 10.4.9, BX5a Monitors.

I just bought some MIDI cables and I don't have a mixer (that's next).

My question is how do I sync this all up so I can track into Pro Tools?

Do I go through my keyboard and use the mixer for aundio?

  • If in my DAW which is cubase4 the option to check off my interface in Sync Setup is not listed in the midi clock field what do i have to do for it to show up there?? I don't understand I have my interface selected in Device setup under vst multitrack already but it doesn't show up in Sync Setup. I'm using the lexicon lambda interface. I hope you understand my question it has become frustrating for me but I really appreciate the reply. Peace.

  • holler @ me if you find out! thanks

  • What if u have everything hooked up right but in the sync setup the lexicon interface isn't in the list?? How do i get it to be there??

  • the lexicon is used as the midi and audio interface. so the way that i have the video, the lexicon is assumed that it's there. if this is not what you were talking about, please explain in more detail.

  • can you do all this with a protools interface aswell

    'Thank You

  • yes you can. I just happened to have nuendo at the time. you can do this with protools also.

  • we need more people putting this information up!

    im loving it!!!!!

  • good lookin

  • woooow man dats wasup u hurred man..dis is real informative thanks for posting this up..this prog looks alot like cubase tho...is this possible with pro-tools tho?

  • it's very possible to do this with pro tools

  • ok so what your saying is that i would have to mute the no-recording tracks and once thats done then i unmute and record the other batch of tracks while mutting the ones i record. is that correct. And i was wondering your thoughts on the upgraded pads and the new version for the mpc1000

  • you would only MUTE the non recording tracks if you are recording from the main stereo outs. if your audio interface can handle four inputs then you don't have to mute the non recording tracks, just don't assign them to an output.

  • Thank you for the video. If you have a sample that has been chopped in 16ths in the MPC, is there a special way you have to set anything up to get it to track out into a DAW (preferably Logic)?

  • i don't think i understand the question. chopped into 16ths? most songs are recorded in 16th notes. can you please be a little more specific?

  • My fault I didnt really know how to explain it but I got it straight. Appreciate your help.

  • Just wanted to know so if i have 16 tracks on the MPC paned l/r between the for outputs. So that gives them there own track right? And if so could i arm all 16 tracks in my DAW and it would separate all the tracks like it did for the 4 you did? i want to know cus i have Protools and i use to track 8 tracks at a time with the MPC2500, but now i have the 1000 which has lease outputs. But if you hard pan them that should give you 8 outs correct?

    Please let me know

    Killa Hertz

  • The limitations of the mpc1000 is that you will only be able to track out 4 tracks at a time... 6 if you use the main outs. So if you have 16 tracks on the mpc, you have to assign and record up to 6 tracks then come back and reassign the tracks and record 6 more and repeat as needed until you have all your tracks recorded.

  • and how to get 4 tracks on record? cant get that done. i got the other things . but this..dont know.

  • with the interface that you have, the phase x24 can only track 2 at a time since it only has 2 analog inputs. if your song on the mpc has 9 tracks, you will have to track 2 at a time then come back and track 2 more until you have the whole song tracked. what software are you using?

  • sh&%. bad luck...2tracks is nothin...ehm usin logic express. appreciate very much!!

ill probably have to buy a new one. is not working that well anyway.

  • how about logic express? if the mpc is connected with the firewire is it enough to sync the tracks? and is it possible to sync more trakcs...cauz i got beats with like 8 - 12 tracks..depending on the samples?

  • you can also sync with logic express. but there is something you may have misunderstood. the mpc does not have firewire. it has usb. but the usb is not for syncing. it's used to connect to the computer as a storage device so you can move files to and from your computer. you would still need to use midi and have an audio interface.

  • thanks very much...i do have an interface..true the interface is connected via firewire...so if the mpc is connected with the interface, it would be enough. i dont need to jack the mpc and the interface together. thanks

  • to sync obviously. the mpc is jacked to get sound out.))

  • i was only referring to the question you wrote. you said if the mpc is connected with the firewire... that's why i said it does not have firewire and you must have misunderstood. if you connect your mpc to your interface that is connected to your computer via firewire, you will still not be able to track out more than 6 tracks at a time (if you have the 1000) 10 tracks if you have the 2500. which interface are you using?

  • ok.)) ehm using the terratex phasex24.mpc 2500.

thanks for ur answers. nice to find help!!

  • i would just like to say thank you because now i can track in. thanks sparq!

  • glad i was able to help you.

  • thanks for the tutorials! you help me!

  • anytime. now you can help others

  • you made this look so easy, i cannot track beats into protools with my mbox mini. i'm aboout to go buy that lexicon interface.

  • how do i record my beats off the mpc? like in wav or mp3

  • you have to resample your finished track inside the mpc by recording the main outs. then move that file to your computer. it will be a .wav file.

  • what program is that your using, i'm having problems doing this with pro tools. its looks alot easier with the program you have.

  • it's nuendo. I am going to do a vid using pro tools real soon.

  • Hi,umlookin 2 buy a MPC1000.I've seen ur video on how 2 use reason as a sound mod, i dnt really understand how 2 connect my midi cables and wot 2 connect dem 2!Do i connect 1 frm my soundcard output to my midi keyboard ins and 1 from my keyboard out 2 my mpc ins? Please reply r post a more indepth video.PEACE!!

  • ok, ok. i know there is some confusion there. go back to that video and click on the "more" link under "about this video" I explained things a little better.

  • thank you so much .. iknow get it , no more headaches ur a star

    simon

  • glad to hear that.

  • sparq is it better to do this on my mpc1000 into protools with MTC code or MIDI Beat Clock???

  • that depends on what OS you have. when i made the video, i was using the akai OS using midi beat clock and I didn't skip a beat or anything. if you want to use MTC, then you have to have the third party OS, JJ, to use MTC. but i never had a problem with midi beat clock.

  • Great video.

    Just got MPC 1000.

Looking forward to hooking it up to Abelton.

  • Hey what type of interface is that, i have a US-122 and it's not sync. Can you tell me what type of midi interface that is, maybe i can get me one. Thanks pep. Stay up. MAKE HOT BEATS

  • it's a lexicon omega

  • how do i do this with the 2000xl. i have an UNO midi sport going in/out with my mpc, and i have a alesis mixer going through the in/out of my sound card. how do i do the samething your doing, but with 2kxl?

  • do you have the 8 output card for the xl? if not, then you would have to track it either 1 (stereo track) at a time or track 2 mono tracks at a time.

  • I have an MW10 usb yamaha mixer that runs with cubase le. I also have an MPC 1000. Im having problems tracking the MPC with cubase le. I have a MIDI usb cable from the mpc to my usb slot in my laptop and my audio cables from my mpc to the MW10. I just can't seem to make it work. Can you please help me.

    Thanks.

  • did you setup cubase to recognise the inputs in the mw10?

  • Yea that's like the first thing i did but i figured how to track, BUT i cant get cubase le and the mpc to sync together and i looked at a forum on how to set it up with cubase se but the options are totally different.

  • works 4 me.....thanx

  • Damn can I do this with my XL..I got the 8 outs and the eb-16 fx card.

  • yes, just follow everything that i stated here and apply it to the XL

  • thanks fam how can i do this with my motif for my motif to be slaved to my 1k and my 1k slaved to my daw?

  • this is for the cat tinktwiceman - do it in the same manner just for the midi tracks from the motif, have your audio from the motif going into your audio interface on your computer's input.

  • Sorry.

Can I Do This Using a DigiDesign MBox 2

  • yes, you can. just follow what's in the vid and apply it to Pro Tools.

  • with the mbox 2 you can only track 2 tracks at a time.

  • I can I do This Is A DigiDesign MBox2

  • nice one man just saved me a real headache

  • good lookin. glad it helped you.

  • Nuendo 3

  • thanks!

  • very nice tutorial, men i got some questions ive been shopping around looking for midi interface at guitar center that doesnt breaks my bank account i recently saw your video thats why im looking forward to buy lexicon omega just like yours thats capable recording 4 tracks at once but im kinda worry cuz i dont know if this device will work with my loptop without any problem i have a loptop AMD Turion 64 speed 2GB,1GB memory win xp & vista installed also i use cakewalk software.

  • The lexicon will work with your laptop as long as you have an available USB port. and it will work with cakewalk. it comes with an LE version of Cubase

  • thanks for the video

  • What software is that?

  • Steinberg's Nuendo 3
