This is my third EVO Shift. My first one did that after a few months of owning it. I got a replacement, and that one would shut off after like 2 minutes, and wouldn't let me turn it back on unless I took out the battery and put it back in. So I just got my replacement a week ago, and while the guy at the store was activating it, it INSTANTLY gave me this problem.
They sent me a bum phone. The EVO Shift is a piece of garbage.
This problem happened to me exactly and I went to Sprint to get it replaced. First they reset it which did nothing. So I had to come all the way back and then they tried to repair it. They replaced the whole touch screen and bezel with a piece of junk that looks like it was run over. I walked back in and told them about it and they ordered a replacement. I got the refurb and everything looks good except for the screen is of shit quality and has a yellow tint. Tired of dealing with this crap.
this started happening to me today and ive had my evo since sept/2010 im getting so pissed off ive tried taking the battery out for at least 10 mins and it stops doin it but a few mins later it starts doin it all over again......i tought it was the screen protector but it wasnt....have you found any info about this...?
@djalex1219 I took it down the the repair center. It turns out it the touchscreen was defective. They replaced it and it works fine now. The repair tech told me they wont fix them unless they can reproduce the problem. I got lucky as mine got so bad he was able to see the issue. Shot this video just in case he could not see the issue. I would just show him the video...
@marklfarkl yeah...had to do the same thing you did....thank god the touch screen problem started again when i took it to sprint...they did a hard reset and nothing got fixed so the guy just told me that i should stop by tomorrow to pick up a new evo so its not a bad deal lol yay to 7$ insurance lol thanks man.

you get that fixed? have you tried a hard reset?

@thebenjamin00 Hard reset did not fix the problem. It was a defective touch screen.
