guys its an old ass honda I dont think it needs a pro paint job to satisfy the driver. Some of you real pro painters do an amazing job and are no doubt true masters of the craft. There are others that trained to do this that dont have the same skill level, but talk like they do. They act as if there method is the only right way and its too difficult for anyone else to learn. ANYONE can paint- very few are actually masters of the skill. Too be good though it just takes time and patience.
dont see any runs thus far, and looks like a solid red color, so if would have been a metallic color it would have looked a lot nicer on video, for u guys out there that dont know any thing about paint jobs, give u lots of credit some guys done even knw how to clean their butts.

Not really a good idea to paint in such long strides, you'll end up with thin and thick sections, and painting outdoors isn't the best idea but if it's the only room you have use acrylic paint, it dries a lot quicker

Ok for all the dumb idiots who ripped off this guy pls f*&£K off. It is very possible to spray a car out doors (alot more difficult though), all he is gonna need to do is a whole lot of flatting and a sh£t load of polishing. But his biggest mistake is the size of his compressor and his technique!!!! I resprayed a Golf Mk1 2k red outside and i didnt need to flat or polish it!!! The car had a show room finish. I rest my case
@jonnyfowder The reason professional painters start at the top when doin all over paint jobs is because they're in a professional paint both that is most likely downdraft. Really you can start anywhere as long as you start at the top of the PANEL. To be honest the only real thing i see wrong here is he's spraying the color coat to wet.

well 4 -6 layers paint and 5 layers lacquer and then a lot of polish work, i think you can get it clean, but you must be extremely lucky about those mosquitoes or dust
Hi i need some help, i have started repainting my car at home and have done all the necessary steps required for preparation. I layed down the first coat but my problem is that it comes out very rough. The car has been sanded perfectly smooth all the way up to 2000grit but even with a very wet coat the paint is very rough, I am using a very standard gun and compressor and the paint has been mixed with appropriate thinner 2:3 what am i doing wrong!?
@gabster118 If the paint is mixed too thick or if the dry time of the thinner you are using is too fast you'll experience the extreme "Orange peel" or rough texture you described. Make sure your paint is thinned correctly, you're using a thinner that allows the paint to "flow out" a little before it starts to set and the gun pressure isn't too high. If it's a hot day or if it is hot in the booth you need a thinner with a slower dry time. you can also visit a body shop and talk to a painter.
@beeceesp Thanks for your help. I got some appropriate car thinner and thinned it more. its still slightly bumpy and I learnt that I need to apply thicker coats. Just needs a bit of colour sanding and buffing then its almost perfectly smooth :)

I like it, I've done a few outdoor paint jobs as well. The bugs are a pain but they cut out after. Remember to do the roof first and the bonnet (hood) from the middle back so you are not leaning over the wet paint you've just put on.

Hi i need some help, i have started repainting my car at home and have done all the necessary steps required for preparation. I layed down the first coat but my problem is that it comes out very rough. The car has been sanded perfectly smooth all the way up to 2000grit but even with a very wet coat the paint is very rough, I am using a very standard gun and compressor and the paint has been mixed with appropriate thinner 2:3 what am i doing wrong!?

@gabster118 If the paint is mixed too thick or if the dry time of the thinner you are using is too fast you'll experience the extreme "Orange peel" or rough texture you described. Make sure your paint is thinned correctly, you're using a thinner that allows the paint to "flow out" a little before it starts to set and the gun pressure isn't too high. If it's a hot day or if it is hot in the booth you need a thinner with a slower dry time. you can also visit a body shop and talk to a painter.

@beeceesp Thanks for your help. I got some appropriate car thinner and thinned it more. its still slightly bumpy and I learnt that I need to apply thicker coats. Just needs a bit of colour sanding and buffing then its almost perfectly smooth :)

lmao ya . paint roof first . and i have a quiestion .. how come ur holdin ur gun like 3 inches away from the car ? u spraying an enamel or somehitng ? one stage urethane ? and lost of people paint stuff outsdie . if you get dirt in it its easy to color sand and buff it right out . thats the beauty of the paint now adays but no one even realizes what it takes to do all of this kinda stuff . props tho .

hopefully no bugs landed in the wet paint. its funny how cheap it is to paint a car at home and i bet it looks way better than a maaco paint job haha. good job!

no bugs will stick on color...but if you will spray a clear coat on an open area...then expect some bugs and dirt on your project...

I like it, I've done a few outdoor paint jobs as well. The bugs are a pain but they cut out after. Remember to do the roof first and the bonnet (hood) from the middle back so you are not leaning over the wet paint you've just put on.
