Being a Blackhawk fan since I was a kid I loved JR. He played the game the way it was meant to be played. Today's hockey is way too soft and Bettman is doing everything he can to ruin it.
Grew up in Toronto not liking JR very much. Well, as I got older I came to appreciate him as a player and love him as a bona fide NHL personality. Congrats on a great career, JR. You are missed!!!
As a 46 year old fan from Chicago...I live and die with Blackhawk Hockey. Let me say that after Bill Wirtz came on the radio after the loss to Pittsburgh in the Finals....he said lets make you a Hawk for life. Well needless to say it about broke my heart when the organization traded you that following year for Zhamnov. I have worn your #27 Jersey to every game I attend, since then in honor of your time here. You truly were the face of Blackhawk hockey. I wish you well in retirement .
Hey JR I'm from Mass too. It's awesome that you actually did this video for you tube. I knw yr looking for a broadcasting carrer, but U ROCK DUDE!!! Can anyone tell me why more great athletes don't do this? That'd be awesome if they did. God Bless all.
One of the greatest ever! Few players in the leage have the kind of work ethic this guy had! Thanks JR for 20 years of fun watching you - and listening to you of course! Hope to see you on TSN or elsewhere in near future.
yeah its sad, but I dont think the Sharks will be any worse though, I mean Roenick was nice to have but he was past his prime, at least he wants to be involved with the Sharks still.
How classy! Thanks for the memories, no one will ever replace you, but for the sake of the game, I hope they come close lol! Enjoy your retirement, you absolutely deserve it! The game's gonna miss you, and so will we!
Jeremy, Contrats!!! I remember playing Sega NHL 92. My brother and his friends would always use the Blackhawks and use Roenick to crush my Bruins players against the boards. My players looked crippled after the check, we would always die laughing. Aside from video games, Super career Jeremy!!

Long live JR!!!!! if only more canadian stars would be as passionate and passionately outspoken as you are......the NHL would be and will be a better game for it!!!
Thanks JR for 20 unbelievable years - well, unfortunately I couldn't see You playing live in my live, but many greetings from overseas (Germany) and all the best for the next thing You're doing now - also Your family has to take some more part now ... Cheers, Sven
JR, I'm a hardcore Canadian hockey fan and you drove me nuts whenever you beat my team (often). However, I would take you any day, even give you an honorary Canadian citizenship. Love your charisma and love how you show respect for your peers, NHL alumni, the fans (US AND Canadian), owners, etc. I'll get Gordie loves you. You are the very last of a (now dead) fine breed. Gotta love it that you will now freely say what you think without consequence.
JR, you a re the best, my friend. The game will be a little less exciting without you. My only regret is that we didn't get to see you hoist the cup playing for our beloved Flyers. Be well!
You were going into the NHL at 158 lbs and you stated that guys in a locker room were "3 TIMES" your size then that would mean those guys in the locker room you were playing with were 474 lbs. (3 Times your size to my calculations) Clearly you were in a dressing room with Canadians! Baahhhhh 1:19 Take Care. J.R.
Jeremy Congratulations on A great Career. You made us all Proud in US Hockey.. Sorry I missed you Here in Las Vegas .I was gonna go to the Palms and Poach some autographs but had car issues. If I had known you were retiring would of taken a bus and bought you A beer My Friend. Cheers from Las Vegas ....Eric
Good on ya JR. Toronto fan here. Your Blackhawk days were unbelievable. I hope you stay with hockey in some capacity. It was awesome to see you with the Sharks as well, wish you would have won the Cup at least, but them's the breaks.
first to comment, just wanted to say J.r was one of the greatest players ever and he will be missed around the leauge, class act and a super funny guy as well.
