The web is so full of ignorant and stupid people who like to pretend being smart and can't even be bothered to do a google search before they post. The song AND the ancient Assyrian city are called "Nineveh", and NOT "Niveneh".
@TheShwaboy E.S. Posthumus is an independent music group that produces cinematic style music. It is a form of classical that intertwines popular style drum rhythms with orchestral and electronic sounds. Their music is inspired by the Pythagorean philosophy which states that "music is the harmonization of opposites; the conciliation of warring elements". The E.S. is an acronym for "Experimental Sounds" while Posthumus is a Dog Latin word that is meant to represent "all things past".
@izizful You can buy the album from CDBaby. They ship internationally, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I got all 3 CDs from ESP's 3 albums from that site, and the service was great, and I live in the UK. :)
I freaking love the cello. Im sorry for some but I actually hate the violen and the viola.
High pitched things just aren't my thing..and yeah, I'm well aware that a violin and violas CAN play a low note and some of the greatest pieces in history can be beautifully played with simply only a violin/viola. Still, though. =p
The climactic ending of this song can be heard at the end of the original theatrical trailer for Spider-Man and the "Review #1" tv spot on the Spider-Man DVD with the guy saying, "Critics are calling Spider-Man absolutely amazing, unforgettable, wonderous to behold, 4 stars, thumbs up, pure spun gold! Spider-Man is an action packed blast! It's incredible! You have to see this movie to believe it! Spider-Man. Rated PG 13."
Thanks for the compliment! I think that this song and Pompeii are breathtakingly amazing and compelling. I wish E.S. Posthumus would do scores for more comic book related films especially for Spider-Man. When you hear their music, you just think of intense action and heroism. Pompeii & Nineveh made the already larger than life image of Spidey epic and were the perfect themes to represent the iconic hero and symbolize decades of our celebration of him and his legendary mythos.
u do kno that wikipedia is a false website where anyone can put any information-that's y many people dont like to rely on it because the info may or may NOT be true
Wikipedia is as accurate, if not more accurate than, the Encyclopedia Britannica(that was the standard for common knowledge before the internet). The two sources have been compared, and in a whole lot of cases the EB is just flat out wrong while wikipedia not only has the correct information, but also has more citations for sources.
It's accurate because stupid people would rather sit in their chair and piss themselves than contribute to a world-wide exchange of ideas.
Wikipedia is very accurate on technical stuff. some times it has errors on things like history and especially things where opinions come into play. fortunately they have a system to help deal with that and it has flags at the top of the page telling you what to be aware of. also, not JUST anyone can post, you need a wiki account which IS given out freely. some times fags to go make random changes but those usually get caught quite fast by either ppl or bots who fix posts.
wikipedia is indeed now remotely accurate, but I'm sometimes amazed by the approximations about historical matters ( I am an historian myself ). Really, if you want REAL documentations about history, read good books :p
The problem with Wikipedia is the experts who read the articles, find something wrong with them and then go and complain about it instead of fixing them. if all the historians made corrections, wiki would be completely accurate.
That, and the unfortunate but simple fact that history is always written by the victors, and ignorance of some parties will leave everyone clueless of what actually happened.
Well... actualy victors write cronicles, History itself (as a discipline) is written by historians, and it´s always being re-writed. We always find something new...
You are wrong. It is Nineveh. The songs on Unearthed are all named after ancient cities. Nineveh was the capital of the Assyrian Empire. It was destroyed by the Medes and the Babylonians 2,600 years ago.
Friendly advice: check with our good friend Wikipedia next time, BEFORE you try and correct someone who doesn't need correcting. :)
uhm its not just a he, its a whooole group we should like walk around and hold up signs of es posthumus saying theyre great :D it would be like awesome, but we have to be somewher a lot of ppl are :D i know just the place do you?
I am epic kind of listener and I imagine when Jesus comes back and takes the faith ones to Heaven something like the track Ebla would be played hahaah. This Nineveh is one of the best on the album I work one hour away from my home so at night i play the cd but i anticipate Nineveh to play cause i race around slow cars to this track i feel like unstoppable at any driving decision i make to this track. I need this group to come to houston and have a concert ill be first in line and epic dance.

@LittleSchlomo
Niveneh was a city in ancient Babylonia, noted for being the probable build location of the Hanging Gardens, and center of many wars.
Ninive is an unimportant city in Spain.
The song is supposed to be Niveneh.

Their utilization of classical, digital, and outrageous orations string the right chords for many people. Art doesn't have to be on a canvas.

Survivors = victors. Why do you think only now people are paying any attention to parties that have been wronged in the past?
Also, we might always find something new, but we always forget something else that has happened. No record ever can be completely perfect.
